Suspicious Visits (Kiera and Takata)

Kiera yawned slightly, as she polished the new entrants to her shop, a set of bright, gleaming knives. As usual when she did something mindless like cleaning weapons, her mind flew back to the meeting between her and a certain Occlumency Professor.

Absentmindedly, Kiera rubbed her shoulder again, where the touch still lingered somehow. What a wierd meeting that had been......

Takata walked up and down Knockturn Alley, trying to find that girl whom he had met earlier on.

He stared up at a shop's sign. Cruor Sanctorum. Wasn't that...

Pushing open the door, he saw a familiar face.

"Why hello there!" He smiled, walking to her before being distracted by a pair of katanas.

Kiera blinked on seeing the very subject of her thoughts walk in through the front door. Ugh. Not again.

Takata was looking surprisingly jolly for someone who had fought her the last time they met. Still, Kiera replied to the greeting, "Hello to you too Takata. You aren't stalking me are you?"

"Oh no, I wasn't. Just... Checking." Takata said, strolling over to the counter, looking completely relaxed.

His eye wandered about the room, occasionally giving an object a longer stare.

Kiera raised an eyebrow, "Checking on what? That I haven't sold anymore 'dangerous' weapons to hurt your so-called precious children?" The scoff in Kiera's tone was unmistakable.

Kiera got up to her feet, walked around the counter and stood in front of Takata, facing him directly, "Tell me honestly. What the hell do you want?"

"Maybe." Takata smiled, not taking offense at the tone of her voice, his eye looking around.

"Tell me. You're a rebel right?" He asked, going to the point.

Kiera felt ever-so slightly confused. What on earth was wrong with this man? Why was he so......strange? Here she was talking so rudely to him, and instead of replying in kind, he was smiling instead. It made her head hurt.

"Yes, I am a rebel. How did you know?" Kiera threw a question right back at Takata. "And even if you did, why do you care anyways? I thought you were a 'peace-loving' Professor."

"You did mention it while we were fighting. I am just double checking." Takata coughed, looking at her.

"Miss Kiera... Uhm... Yes Kiera then, have you ever had siblings, children or... Worked with children? And you don't have to tell me about being a rebel. We Japanese understand fighting more than anyone in the world." Takata stated, looking at her.

I did? Kiera cursed herself inwardly if that was the case. She was getting too absorbed in the man's eccentricities, and not paying enough attention. A fatal mistake for a warrior to make. You never knew what information might come in handy when you're dealing with a person.

Then Kiera's head hurt with confusion again. First Takata and she met in a sweetshop, talked civilly, then they fought with one another, then he dropped in at her shop, and now he was asking her about siblings in children? This doesn't make any sense..... "I don't have anyone of my own in the world. No parents, siblings, family or friends." You do have parents....... But Kiera quenched this thought the moment it arose. She didn't want to think about it.

Takata watched her hand tremble as he asked the question and he looked down on the floor for a moment. Well, he was certain it was a yes to one of the question.

"Okay." His face suddenly turned serious.

"Let's get to the point." He pulled off his gloves, one of them extremely badly scarred.

"Take a guess, Kiera." He said, yet he did not wait for an answer.

"I have a shipment of Javelin surface to air missiles. Would you be interested?"

Kiera watched with narrowed eyes as Takata pulled off his glove, revealing his scarred hand. Kiera's eyebrows rose high enough to reach her hairline. An Occlumency Professor shouldn't, by all rights, have wounds like these. Then came Takata's question, and then Kiera gave up figuring him out altogether.

"Wait, wait a minute. Is this the same man who warned me about trading in illegal substances and hurting innocents? And now you want to do business with me?" Kiera asked with sharp eyes. "Fine, supposing I say yes, then answer one question of mine. If you did come here only to do business, then why did you ask me if I had siblings or children?"

"I tend not to do business with people who have families. And yes, I was referring to the underhand methods of having children carry bombs into strategic facilities." Takata frowned, his scarred hand tapping the counter.

"These Javelin missiles are in premium condition. How much do you offer? It can hit and helicopter, plane as long as it is FLYING." Takata said seriously.

"I'm a rebel yes Mr. Umi, but I'm not devoid of morals. At least, not in matters like these." Kiera felt her confusion clearing away on at least one matter. "I prefer doing my jobs alone, not taking the help of anyone, the least children. And yes, your logic behind not doing business with anyone with a family is sound. Which is why I ask you, do you have a family?"

"If these missiles can indeed take out any flying object, then their price is determined by their number. I think a thousand galleons per missile should be enough."

"In Japan. But I'm clean there and here. I have 24 Javelin missiles, and they can be delivered here. Question is, how many do you want?" Takata asked, his knuckle knocking against the counter.

"And please, convert the galleons to muggle gold bars. I only deal in gold." Takata frowned.

"I can't specify the number without checking the quality. Bring one and I'll check it." Kiera tapped her fingers on the counter. "If the quality is satisfactory, I want all. Money is not a concern. And yes, you can have it in muggle gold bars."

Then in a sharp, clipped tone, "Anything else?"

Shaking his head straight away, he frowned. Was she serious?

"A Javelin missile is rather decent sized. You will have to inspect it yourself. It is in a warehouse. When I received 30% of the payment, you can gain access to it and take them whenever." Takata frowned.

Kiera shook her head lightly in amazement, "Ever heard of something called a shrinking charm? You can shrink one, bring it here and I'll inspect it. There's no way that I'm stepping into an unknown warehouse, without knowing what's inside. I've been in that situation too many times."

"Just show one to me. If I'm satisfied, you'll have your 30% then and there. Then I'll come for the rest. After all of them have been delivered to me, you'll get the remaining amount."

"If you insist..." Takata said, swiping his glove off the counter, and walking out of the store. He went back to the warehouse. Deserted as it is...

He went back the next day to Kiera, throwing a pouch onto the counter.

"Kiera. Its inside." Takata said, pointing.

"Is it satisfactory?"

Kiera slid out the javelin and waved her wand, murmuring a few words. The javelin unshrunk partially, allowing her to inspect the structure of the javelin and its working, but remaining to a size that would fit upon the counter.

Kiera ran a finger over the smooth metal. The built seemed fine.....the point was good......good rear......hmm, could have been a bit more streamlined for extra speed, but that was okay. "Its fine. You can deliver the others to me through owl, cast a sealing charm over the pouch of course so that no one can intercept it. Here's your 30% payment." Kiera slid a similar black leather pouch over the counter, containing the shrunken gold bars.

[OOC: Maybe we can end the thread now, start a new one somewhere else where there can be less business and we can take the plotline forward]
