Background Information:

His father is a big supporter of the Dark Arts, and was into the whole pureblood mania. He supported Voldemort before his downfall, though he was never caught. Now his father is biding his time and waiting for a new Dark Lord to follow. The only good thing his father did was start their education in different subjects even before he went to Hogwarts. It ingrained in Josh a love of learning as well as helped him become one of the top students in his class.

When he was old enough to go to school, he chose Hogwarts despite the fact his father wanted him to attend Durmstrang. That decision caused a strong dislike of his son to develop in Andrew Night, and Josh wishes that his father would appreciate himf or who he is.

Josh's mother was killed 2 years ago in a potions incident. Both him and his little sister Naomi took it extremely hard, even though their father seemed not to care.

His little sister and him were both abused by their father when they made mistakes, or tried to defy him. The pureblood banquets they attended made him as well as Naomi sick, and they only went so they wouldn't get in trouble. Josh is very protective of Naomi, and attempted to protect her from their father though he didn't often succeed.

Now that he is working as a cursebreaker he is away from home a lot of the time. Whenever he is home he tries to talk to his father, but he just ignores him most of the time. He would get an apartment, if not for Naomi. She is at Hogwarts now, which is good, but she is still in danger whenever she's at home. He writes to her often, and dotes on her a little bit.
