Random meeting

[Anette White]

Anette was walking down the street.

She wanted to buy some new things before living Hogwarts on vacation.

[Humphrey Williams]

Humphrey was making his way to Zonko's for some fun prank stuff, and saw Anette walking downt he street. He'd started talking to her last year, and found she was pretty cool A slytherin in his year, and pretty nice.

"Hello Anette, how are you? What are you doing in Hogsmeade? I'm on my way to Zonko's right now." he admitted with a sly grin.

[Anette White]

- Oh... Hi, - Anette smiled, - I just want to buy some... Emm... Girly things. Sorry, - she laughed, - Im am just really glad that holidays have started. To be honest I miss not only my family and friends, but cinema and ice-cream, - she laughed again, - Humphrey I am so excited! I will see my home soon!

Anetteunderstood that she was too emotional, but at that moment that was the only way she could behave.

[Humphrey Williams]

"Girly things, enough said." Humphrey said, chuckling a little bit. "For me it's the opposite, it's great seeing my aunt, but I miss all my friends here at Hogwarts. Especially Senium, I miss her so much. Anyways, that sounds like a lot of fun, I love the movies and ice cream." She was very bubbly today, which caught him off guard. Last time he'd seen she'd seemed more reserved. "I'm happy for you Anette, make sure to have a lot of fun."

Now that they had met, it seemed kind of rude just to go their seperate ways. "Do you want to grab some Honeydukes sweets or something? Instead of just standing here in the street."

[Anette White]

- Wow! That would be cool, - Anette answered, - by the way... Where do you live in muggle world? Are you from London? I am.

[Humphrey Williams]

"Okay, just follow me. Honeydukes has the best sweets around, my personal favorites are the Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans. Though, I have to admit that the chocolate frogs come in a close second." Honeydukes candy was one of his favorite parts about coming to Hogsmeade.

"Me? No, I'm originally from a suburb of Dayton, Ohio, in the United States. But, I moved to Edinburgh, Scotland when my parents were killed. That was when I was eight. I live with my aunt Julia, did live with my uncle too, but he died two years ago." he said, a little sad. "Anyways, London must be a fun place to live. There's so much to do there."

[Anette White]

- Oh... Em... I am sorry, - Anette mumbled, - I did not know.

She was confused and did not what else to add, but Hump looked absolutely calm, talking about the main tragedy of his life. That was strange. At least Anette thought so.

"It can be the kind of psychologcal protection" - she thought.

Still keeping silence, she walked near Humphrey.

"Come on! Say something!" - she said in her thoughts.

[Humphrey Williams]

"No, it's alright Anette. I've learned to get by without them. Yea, it's hard, but that's what life is. You have hardships, and you have to deal witht them. Not much else you can do." he said. It was true, but if you looked at him you could tell he was still hurting a bit inside.

Anette was just walking next to him, clearly waiting for him to say more. To be honest, Humphrey didn't really know what else to say. "Why do you look so confused? My parents are dead, alright. I was at basketball practice, and the muggle police came one night to inform me that they had a car accident. I hated living with my aunt and uncle that first couple of years, and then I got my letter from Hogwarts. The school was the first place I felt accepted, and I even got along better with my aunt and uncle after my first year here. Now, my uncle is gone too, and my aunt...isn't doing very well without him. I don't know what to do anymore, okay, is that what you wanted to hear?"

Humphrey knew that he was being a little harsh, and decided he should apologize immediately. "I'm sorry, it's just, why can't there be here with me? I miss them so much. Whenever I make a good memory, or accomplish something, I wonder if they would have thought I'd done well. But I'll never know..."

[Anette White]

Anette stoped.

- I understand Hump that there are no words which can be appropriate now, - she said, - and your emotions and your... em... words, - she almost mumbled the last word, - are normal. I did not know them and to be honest I do not know you very close, but your parents can be very proud of you. I have said 'can', - she nod, - I think you understand what I try to explain.

That was all she could say and she hoped that she had not hurted Hump.

[Humphrey Williams]

When she stopped, he walked a couple more steps before he realized she wasn't walking with him. He walked back, and then looked at her. It was clear that she just didn't know what to say, but really did feel for him.

"Thanks Anette, I appreciate that you actually wanted to know more about me. I just needed to vent a little bit I think." he said. Than when she said can a smile came across his face. "You really think they can be proud of me, honest?" Humphrey asked hopefully.

[Anette White]

- Sure, - Anette answered, - don't ask why, please. I think you know the answer. Oh, look! Here is a little kitten! Why is it alone?

Anette stoped again. She was watching the kitten very closely.

[Humphrey Williams]

"I really don't actually. Believe it or not, I don't know the answer to everything." Humphrey said. He didn't know what she was talking about, even though she thought he should.

Humphrey saw the kitten, and reached down to scoop him up. It was a beautiful calico, but just as he was about to touch it, the kitten spoke. "Humphrey Williams, Anette White, you need to hide. Now! This is Professor Smith, get out of the main road of Hogsmeade. Find an alley or somewhere nobody will look for you." After it said that, the kitten sprinted away back up to the castle.

"I think we'd better get out of the road, Anette. Something about this seems, well, wrong. Let's go." het old her. He looked around for a suitable place to stay unnoticed. There, an alley that had a large dumpster that would completely block them from view. Once he was behind it, he turned to Anette. "What do you think that was about?" he whispered.

[Anette White]

- I hope that was not somebody's joke, - Anette said.

Anette did not like the situation. What could happen to them in the center of Hogsmeade?

- Or... I Also hope that we are not in the trap or something like this, - she added, - this all is very strange. Do you agree? I think we need to find the professor.

[Humphrey Williams]

"It better not have been. That is seriously not funny if it was." Humphrey agreed with her. If somebody did that, he was going to find out who and talk some sense into them.

"Could be a trap, or maybe it's just somebody who could be dangerous. Doesn't have to necessarily be an all-out, planned attack or anything. No, we need to stay here Anette. Don't worry, I've been trained to defend myself by excellent teachers. Maybe it is a false alarm, either way though, we need to stay put." he told her. Humphrey couldn't tell her what he had been trained to do, but a vague mention of training should help set her at ease.

[Anette White]

- Okay, - Anette said, - lets just stay here and wait for something. I do not mind. It is not hot, it is not cold, so we can just enjoy the weather, but, please, ask just one question. Why are you so calm and confident? There were not any special words or something like that. I am still not sure, that we have heard professor's message. And... Look there! Hogsmeade lives its usual life.

[Humphrey Williams]

Humphrey was glad that she agreed to stay there. It was the smartest thing to do at this point in time. "Yea, the weather is pretty nice now that you mention it." That made him blush a little bit. "I'm just as scared as you are, but it's no use letting the fear take over. Besides, myself and a couple other students have been given special training. So, that if we were ever in a position where we had to fight, we'd know how." he told her.

"Give it another five minutes. Of course it could be nothing, but it's better to be safe than sorry Anette. I'm not going to let you go out and get hurt, I would never be able to forgive myself. Just trust me, okay?"

[Anette White]

- Okay! Okay!

Anette even raised her hands, showing, that she was absolutely agree with Hump at that moment.

Anette noticed the bench and sat on it. She was walking for the whole morning.

- Sit down, - she said, - or... Do you need to stay according to your special lessons?

[Humphrey Williams]

He smiled at Anette's overenthusiastic agreement. "No need to shout. Try and relax, you're going to be perfectly fine." Humphrey told her. If luck was with them, it would turn out to be nothing.

Looking around, he decided it was okay to sit on the bench with her. Taking a seat, he let out a sigh. "I think I'll be alright to sit actually." he said. This was such an odd situation, hiding from a possible threat, sitting on a bench casually. "So, what are you doing for your summer holidays?" Humphrey asked her. It would be nice to go to a subject that took their mind off things.

[Anette White]

- My parents want to organize a hike as we all need to have some new impressions, - Anette answered, - but to be honest I just want tp lie on a beach and do nothing or maybe to visit some places of interest.

Anette sighed. Thoughts about future trip were pleasent.

[Humphrey Williams]

"That sounds like a lot of fun, I love hiking. One of the things I like to do on my summer breaks is hike around and find good places to paint. It's quite fun actually." Humphrey told her. "Haha, being lazy on a beach, that doese sound like a good plan.

[Anette White]

- We all can like different things, - Anette said, - so... Where is our secret enemy? It seems, that we are alone here.

[Humphrey Williams]

"So we can, my problem is I like to do a bit of everything." Humphrey admitted. He was always interested in learning new things, no matter what it was.

"I think you're right Anette. It appears that it was a false alarm." he said, a bit relieved. "Well, want to go head to Honeydukes? I'm in the mood for some sweets."
