Duelling Apprenticeship....
Naomi was so excited to start her first Apprenticeship lesson with Professor Romain. She didn't know what to expect from the woman but she knew she'd do anything to just do better then ever.
Softly knocking on the door, she awaited for her Professor to let her in. She was taught to not just walk in and that's what she'd do.

Re: Duelling Apprenticeship....
Briony, at hearing the knock on her door was happy that the students still had some manners at least, and weren't just going to barge straight in, although she barely used the duelling classroom office, she supposed that it was apt for todays apprenticeship lesson, as it was an apprenticeship in duelling.
"Come in Naomi." she bidded, flicking her wand so that the door opened swiftly, revealing the student that lay behind it, with a small swift smile Briony greeted the chils and waited for her to step into her office, so that they could begin today's task.

Re: Duelling Apprenticeship....
Smiling at her Professor, Naomi stepped gracefully into the office as she said.
"Good morning, Professor. How are you this fine day?" She asked, feeling the need to ask that as she was taught. Never be rude no matter who they are.
Her eyes wondered over the office and a small smile crossed her lips. This was her first time into the classroom and she hoped it wasn't the last.

Re: Duelling Apprenticeship....
Briony smirked a little bit, it was quite rare to find a student who even seemed to care about how their professor was doing at this moment in time, and she felt a little bit happy that she had managed to acquire such a polite set of apprentices.
"I am doing well thank you, very glad that I have you to teach instead of facing the mountain of paperwork that's sitting in my office." she grinned, gesturing to the seat in front of the desk "Please take a seat Naomi, we shall begin with a few questions first, if that is alright?"
Taking out her parchment, quill and ink Briony waited for Naomi's go ahead, before she started to take notes, and make her plan.

Re: Duelling Apprenticeship....
Naomi smiled at her Professor and nodded her head.
"That's good. I sure hope that you are really feeling really well, after all we did lose many students and staff..." She trailed off before smiling again. "But we mustn't drown in guilt. We must cherish their losses and carry on with our lives, protecting everyone like they did before they died, don't you think?" She asked as she sat down and nodded her head at the Professor.

Re: Duelling Apprenticeship....
Briony raised an eyebrow slightly and she couldn't quite believe something so articulate had come out of the young girls mouth, however she attempted not to dwell on the deaths of her friends and of her students too much now that the funeral was out of the way.
"Very true." she said simply "Although some people like myself have been able to protect many students and adults throughout the course of the war, this incident will just make us even more determined."
Coughing she tapped the parchment;
"What aspect of duelling do you want to look into most, physical or magical?" she asked, beginning the questions.

Re: Duelling Apprenticeship....
Naomi thought on the question for a while, her mind going a thousand miles a second, working out the Pro's and Con's of the Magical and Physical aspect of dueling. In truth she didn't care which one she chose as she wanted to do her best to protect the ones she loved and anyone else.
"In truth Professor, I don't actually mind which one. I would like to do both as I feel they would be able to help me fight this war. The Magical part would help greatly but we musn't rely on magic too much, if in a fight our wand gets stolen we still have our fists therefore I would like to do both Magical and Physical." She smiled at her, her ice-blue eyes never leaving her Professors' form.

Re: Duelling Apprenticeship....
Briony smirked lightly, she had a feeling that she was going to like teaching this girl to duel however they had a few more questions to go through before they actually started to learn to duel properly, after all she had not come to her classes so the basics would have to be discovered first.
"So you wish to learn both magical and physical duelling, have you ever done any form of weapons training, or even partook in some for enjoyment, such as archery classes?" she asked, laying her quill back down as she waited for the answer.
"Also, you did not take duelling as a class in Hogwarts, as a result you are going to have to cover all of the basic spells I would have covered in class before we move onwards, just to let you know."

Re: Duelling Apprenticeship....
Naomi's lips pulled into a grin as she nodded her head at Briony. Her eyes shone with joy and happiness.
"I learned some Archery and sword fighting for a few years but I had to drop it when I came to Hogwarts, though I do train occasionally on some of my days off from classes, like the weekends." She told her truthfully. "I enjoy Physical training more because it lets me keep my body in shape." She grinned at that.
"Yes, I understand that." She nodded.

Re: Duelling Apprenticeship....
Briony could tell that Naomi's passion lay in physical duelling even though she wanted to learn both sets of skills, and Briony had no problem with that, it meant that she would find some tasks more enjoyable than others however, which was a shame when it came to the magical duelling.
"That is some very good experience." she smirked lightly "I perfer more magical duelling to physical, but I am a good close combat fighter when need be, perhaps we should work on your hand to hand combat, for when you are disarmed without a weapon or wand."
Humming to herself Briony nodded sagely; "Excellent."

Re: Duelling Apprenticeship....
Naomi smiled at Briony and nodded.
"I think I'd prefer more magical duelling if it wasn't for the fact that my father mostly showed me the Dark Arts." She told her professor. This was a first time she admitted it to someone and it felt good. "I only started enjoying magic when I came to Hogwarts."
She knew she'd have some trouble with magical duelling but she was ready to work hard on it, no matter what.

Re: Duelling Apprenticeship....
Briony hummed to herself, she wondered if Naomi was one of those people who did not enjoy the dark arts, many people did not, and it would seem that if she had been put off from learning magic by the dark arts present in her life, that she was indeed one of those people.
"I see, well the dark arts are something that people are not supposed to find comfortable, and the presence of them in your household has every right to unnerve you from practising magic." Briony nodded.
Steepling her fingers together, she thought about what they might be able to do in terms of magical duelling before asking;
"How often would you be willing to have these session with me? Once every month? Once every two weeks?" she asked, picking up her quill to write once more.

Re: Duelling Apprenticeship....
Naomi smiled lightly, her hands resting in her lap and fiddling with her skirt.
"It was hard for me to learn magic when I first came to Hogwarts but now, I'm on par with everyone if not a bit higher. I'm ready to learn everything that I need." She told Briony, smiling.
"I'm willing to have these sessions once every week if that's fine, if not then once every 2 weeks." She smiled at her.
(OOC: Sorry for the late replies I've had college the past few days and had to catch up with some friends, ^^)

Re: Duelling Apprenticeship....
Briony inside was beginning to tire of all these questions, although she needed to ask them, she was itching to see how good this girls duelling already was, not having seen much of it in lessons, or around the school since she had not taken duelling herself.
"These lessons will be scheduled once every two weeks." she nodded her head, scribbling that down on the paper before placing it in the top drawer of her desk, a smirk drawing across her lips as she did so.
Standing up she dusted off her black leather trousers and she tied up her hair in a high pony tail; "Now, using all the spells you know from your other classes, I want you to duel me. I shall see where we need to work on from there."
(OOC: No worries! I'm starting Uni soon so I;ll be in the same boat )
