Duelling Lesson Two - Fifth Years

Briony looked at the knife that she was holding, the light glinted off it and she couldn't help but smirk darkly, she was beginning to understand why it was that Raven was so obsessed with the razors that she owned, they were beautiful, just like this knife was.

With a small chuckle, she began to sharpen the knife on a whetstone that she had on her palm, it did the job however much people would tell her that she could easily do it in one flick of her wand, there were some things however that Briong felt should always be done by hand, this was one of them.

On the board was written the topic of today's lesson, waiting for the students to arrive, Briony continued her sharpening.

'Reducto'

Walking into Duelling, he noticed that Briony was sharpening a knife. Humphrey smiled, the Headmistress could be a bit odd sometimes. He didn't mind though, she always stayed true to who she was.

Taking a seat, he began to clear his mind before class began. Looking up at the board, he saw that they would be practicing the Reducto spell today. "Hello professor, how are you?" Humphrey asked politely. She was still one of his favorite teachers.

Haley walked into the classroom silently and walked up to the front sitting down. "Morning professor," she said softly and pulled up her books. 'Reducto' the board read. Haley felt a pang of satisfaction run through her as she knew this spell could be so strong that it could kill a person; time to be serious.

Airen walked into the classroom. He looked at the board and noticed the planned topic for the lesson. He remembered something that his aunt had told him. With great power comes great responsibility. He knew that he would have to be lenient in using this spell; it could kill some one if enough force was applied.

"Good Morning, Professor," he greeted as he took his seat at the front of the classroom.

Briony, when she saw her students walking into her lesson, stopped sharpening her knife and stabbed it into the wood of her desk in front of her, now standing up, Briony had an almost glowing quality to her eyes, which she herself attributed to the magical process she had begun to undergo in her spare time.

"Good morning class, as you can see, the spells are getting more and more dangerous, you will need to know these spells to defend yourself, as we can see that students like yourself are targetted as equally as adults like I am in battles." Briony glared at the memory and she leant against her desk, her legs stretched out in front of her.

"Today we are learning about the spell Reducto, what does this spell do?"

Humphrey was glad that the Headmistress was aware that kids were being targeted just as much as adults. During the battles there had been no discrimination, and many students had been injured. This spell would be a useful one. "The spell allows you to reduce objects to pieces, how many depends on how well it is cast." he answered the professor's question.
