Charlotte smiled softly and she noted that Charity seemed so much more at ease now that they were away from the main bulk of people, and she seemed to be getting on wonderfully with Airen, it seemed that it would be better to introduce Charity to her friends, one on one as it were.

Hearing the music begin Charlotte turned, and faced Airen, who was what she believed to be her best friend in Hogwarts as well as her boyfriend, she smiled gently;

"Maybe we should all go out onto the floor and dance together?" she suggested, not wanting to leave Charity out, but at the same time knowing that she wanted to dance with Airen on his own before the night was through.

Senium happily looked over the friends that Humphrey was introducing her to, when one of them left to go and talk to his girlfriend, she felt a little bit better now she was with people she had met before, remembering Melody from that time in the teashop.

"Hey there Melody it's nice to see you again, it's been a while." she smiled softly before she blushed once more as she looked back to Humphrey, he really did look handsome tonight and she knew that he would be the perfect gentleman for her tonight, as always.

"I can't wait for the music to start either, I've been waiting to dance again for the longest time." she smiled gently, knowing Humphrey would understand her reference.

Lucas nodded. "Oh, so you've never been in any of the balls?" he asked. He thought everyone was required to go. Hm, maybe that was what he thought. He shrugged the thought off and nodded once more.

"Yeah, I'm in my fourth year, actually. I'm in Gryffindor," he added. Lucas looked around and sighed. He was starting to get bored, but the conversation was keeping him from falling asleep right then and there.

Briony hummed to herself wondering if Lucia was quite alright, but then again she realised that the two of them had been more than a little recluse as of late and that it was probably a good thing, she would have known, just like Richard that her mannerisms were altered.

Altered....quite drastically.

The fact she had to take a potion before coming out tonight, to make herself calmer and more agreeable upon Richards request, was something Briony was irritated and painfully aware of.

"So tell me, what have you been up to lately?" she asked Lucia "I haven't seen you around the castle much, not that I have done much looking I suppose." Briony mused.

Brianna shook her head, a cheeky grin crossing her face as she fingered the fabric of her dress in an absent-minded way. "Nope. They're compulsory I suppose, but then who really gives a damn about the rules after all? I've never gotten in trouble for ditching."

She raised an eyebrow at him, as if challenging him to disagree that breaking the rules was a bad idea and she should attend all balls that are compulsory - along with lessons. Brianna often skipped her lessons.

"Wow! Really? Cool. I'm in Ravenclaw. So we're two years apart then, that's why we haven't seen each other around." She looked around the dance floor. "Ugh these things are always so boring, it's why I don't come." She pouted. Her parents had dragged her to quite a few balls when she was younger and none of them were entertaining - until the music started.

Apparently Brony was either ingoring her or hadn't heard her either way she decided that she might as well walk around the Great Hall it was just as big as it had been when she had gone to Hogwarts.

Humphrey noticed that Senium seemed to relax a bit more when the group got smaller. She had always been a bit shy, so that came as no surprise. At least she had already met Melody, that gave her somebody to talk to.

"The three of us should hang out together sometime, it would be fun." he said. He noticed her blush, and smiled at her. Senium really did look beautiful tonight, the dress was perfect for her. Then he felt the heat on his face as well, not surprisingly.

Thinking about the memory of their meeting by the lake made him smile. "Yea, it has been a while." Finally, he heard the music start up. "Well it seems you are going to get your chance. Would you like to dance, my lady?" Humphrey asked her, offering his hand.

When Othala made herself know by glomping his waist, The Doctor wasn't embarrassed as many others might have been. No he just grinned and turned to give her a little hug back,

"Hey there Othala!" he greeted her with a grin and gesturing towards Richard and Briony, "These are the Romains like you said. Don't worry, they're nice people."

He chuckled a little bit as a song began to play throughout the hall. Ironically enough it was the muggle song "every little thing she does is magic" by The Police. He took Othala by the hand to the dancefloor,

"You ready?" he asked her with a smirk, "I said I'd teach you to dance remember? Just step on my feet and hold my hands and we'll start teaching you."

Othala giggled happily when the Doctor led her to the dance floor, he had said he was going to help her learn how to dance but she didn't know what she was going to do, she didnt want to stand on the Doctor by accident and hurt him...that would make her very sad.

"You look smart today Florence." she complimented "I like suit."

Hearing the song come on she wiggled to the beat, in a very sweet attempt to dance before she stepped gingerly on the Doctors feet and held onto his waist;

"W-well if I'm too heavy Florence you no have to let me stand on your feet." she offered with a soft smile "How you teach me dance like this? You dancing, not me!"

The Doctor smiled when she said that she liked his suit. He'd spent quite a long time trying to find a good suit as most suits looked rather silly on him he had found. He smiled wider,

"Why thank you Othala!" he replied with a grin, "And you are looking very beautiful tonight! I'm surprised boys aren't asking you to dance! Other than me of course."

He chuckled a little bit as he began to dance with her standing on his feet, giving her an idea of the motions,

"Don't worry, you're light as a feather." he told her before grinning, "Well we'll dance like this for one song and then you get off my feet and try to remember the movements of my feet... good idea?"

Othala giggled happily and she felt herself blushing when the Doctor told her that she looked pretty, nobody so far had told her that tonight and she was beginning to worry that she had picked the wrong thing to wear to the ball tonight.

"I like dance like this." she commented as she giggled again, holding onto the Doctor's hands so that she wouldn't wobble off his feet while they danced together "It funny."

Nodding her head Othala smiled widely up at The Doctor, she was liking dancing, she had never done it properly before, but it seemed like the Doctor knew how to dance pretty well!

"You know how to dance good." she grinned "You take classes when you were little?" Allowing herself a small moment for pride, when she managed to string a sentence together properly Othala continued to shuffle along to the song on the Doctors feet.

Lessi wondered if she should ask someone to dance usually she didn't mind dancing by herself but that seemed like an odd thing to do at a foormal event like this.She got herself some punch instead.

Airen smiled at Charlotte's request. He had missed her terribly the last few lessons, what with them sharing so little time together since the summer. He bowed and extended his hand to her. "Then, shall we?" Airen asked, a gentle smile on his face.

Danita hadn't really wanted to go to some ball held at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy, but her manager had 'advised' (forced) her to go. He had informed her that it would be great for publicity, and she also needed to show off some of her new outfits to the general public. She'd protested that the yule ball wasn't a big thing, but her mother had stepped in and she'd reluctantly agreed to go.

Her mother, however, wanted her to go so she could make friends. She was concerned that her daughter's career was beginning to get in the way of her making friends. Danita had just nodded her head and reluctantly agreed to go, but she silently knew that her mother's words were true. Because of her fame, people genuinely didn't like her for HER. They liked her fame, her money, and girls just generally didn't like her because of her beauty.

They called her slut, whore, they said she was disgusting. It was just her career, lots of people did it. It's not like she posed nude or anything, she was just a model, was that not allowed? Were they not all allowed to pursue their own careers, how was hers any different? She shook her head and sighed, barely noticing how beautiful the Great Hall was because frankly, she saw places like this all the time. It was normal to her. She walked over to the refreshments table and poured herself a glass of punch, sipping from it.

Vladimir looked up at the ceiling as he wandered into the Great Hall, it was a beautiful space and for someone who lived in a single floor flat in a not very pleasant area, it was a place of grandness he would have never been able to see before, it was even nicer than the hall in Durmstrang.

The suit was beginning to make him itch and he wished that he could have just come in his comfy jeans, it was something that he hated, having to dress up like this. With a small sigh, he walked through the hall, his large backpiece tattoo showing slightly under his white shirt as he flung his black jacket over his shoulder.

Looking around for someone he knew, he raised his eyebrow when he spotted a bored looking Danita, deciding to ask if she was alright, Vlad wandered over to her;

"Well fancy seeing you here." he smiled gently "Nice to see you again Danita, you look very pretty tonight, I think the girls are all jealous of you!"

Charlotte smiled softly and she felt that comforting feeling that she often got whenever Airen tried to dance with her, at balls Charlotte always loved to dance with Airen because he was one of the boys who could actually dance worth a damn.

Taking his hand, she squeezed it gently and smiled warmly at him, before making her way onto the floor and waiting for Airen to take the lead in the dance, the male after all, always lead first.

"Another ball and another dance, you know how much I enjoy your dancing Airen..." Charlotte exclaimed gently.

Danita sighed heavily and made a mental note to have a fit at her manager. She hadn't wanted to come to some stupid ball full of people she didn't even freaking KNOW. She recognised ONE person out of all the people here - and only because she'd seen him in the common room before.

Danita sipped at her punch and stepped away from the ball, her eyes scanning the room once more. Her face lit up with a bright smile as she spied Vladimir. Finally, someone to talk to.

"Hey," she greeted him, un-able to keep the grin off her face. He looked attractive. "Merlin thank goodness you're here I would've been so bored without you." She placed her drink down and hugged him in relief. "You look amazing! And thanks." Her enthusiasm was driven by her happiness to have someone to talk to.

Airen smiled and led Charlotte out onto the dance floor. He gently placed a hand on her waist and another on her shoulder. He brought her close to him, wanting to feel what it was like to be in her embrace again. He had not had much time to enjoy moments like these. He blushed lightly.

The music was slow, and he liked it that way. He and Charlotte swayed slowly to the music. He felt light on his feet while his heart beat like a drum. He smiled down at Charlotte. He'd missed these times he got to spend with Charlotte. He felt that he should cherish these moments.

"I know, I'm glad to get to spend time with you," he said smiling warmly. He kissed her cheek softly.

Charlotte smiled gently, there seemed to be something different to their dancing this time and she could feel it, however she wondered what exactly it would mean, what was this feeling that she could feel tugging at her mind when Airen began to lead her around the Great Hall, the lights shining softly upon them.

Gently, she squeezed his hand as they danced and spun across the hall, it was times like these with Airen that he made her feel like a princess, in her beautiful dress dancing with her prince. Unable to keep the smile off her face Charlotte gazed up at Airen.

"I didn't get to meet you again this summer..." Charlotte pouted "I guess we were just too busy to remind ourselves about it...maybe another time?" she commented as they danced together.
