The Hogwarts Ball (Open to all Hogwarts Professors and Students)

Briony smiled, her faint smile, as she walked to the head of the Great Hall, true this was a great surprise for the children, to be invited to school early for a ball, before returning home with the school start a few days away, or alternitively they could stay in the castle if they had brought all of their school wear.

Gazing around the decorated hall, she smiled lightly once more, she had taken everything that she could have done and put it into the hall, and gently she pat her stomach, which was just beginning to show it's bump, much to Briony's delight.

Waiting for some of the students to arrive, she cruised down the hall, looking at the fiid that was laid out, the drinks table, with alcoholic for the Professors and non alcoholic for the students, there was a band ready for the music to be played and she hoped that there would be some turn out.

Deciding that she might as well begin the ball, Briony smirked lightly;

"Welcome back one and all, we will be starting the ball, right after this speech, have fun, don't get drunk, don't fight. End of speech. Music please!" she grinned, and the music started.

Charlotte looked around the hall and she smiled, it looked fantastic, there were really beautiful decorations there this time, and she only hoped that there wasn't any attacks on the ball like there was last time, she didn't think that she could handle it if it got ruined again.

Once Briony had given her short and efficient speech, Charlotte grinned and walked over to one of the drink tables, picking up a butterbeer and sipping at it, she looked at all the other students, some of the older ones looked so beautiful and graceful, she hoped that she could look like them one day.

Having her hair up in a series of small plaits, wound into a bun, Charlotte wore her beautiful red dress that she had bought and wondered where Airen was, and if he was coming to the ball.

Sam walked toward the ball happily she was wearing a dark red dress that reached the floor she smiled and walked into the great hall she had her brown hair up in a loose bun and she wore matching shoes and earrings and a chocked necklace she walked inside and saw the great hall was decorated she grinned happily and walked inside.

She noticed she was the second one there she smiled and walked inside and sat down in a dark corner and she waited for everyone else to arrive.

Haley walked into the Great Hall with a small smile on her face. She was so glad to be back, even though the thought of a ball kind of scared her, thinking about last time. But she knew she would have fun, there was no doubt in her mind.

She was also superhappy to be back at Hogwarts. She had no intentions to going back to Caerphilly before the summer, and had taken all her things with her, now beside her bed in the girls' dormitory.

She looked around the hall, amazed at how absolutely stunning it looked. Then her eyes landed on Charlotte. Haley smiled softly. The summer had passed quicker than she had imagined, and she hadn't had a chance to visit her friend this time around. But she was going to make sure she'd manage to visit her next summer. No joke.

Haley walked over to Charlotte. "Hey," she said happily, giving Charlotte a small hug.

"You look stunning," she remarked, looking at her red dress.

Haley was wearing a very light pink dress, though not something that mismatched her hair completely, and her shoes were slightly heeled and white, though not visible.

She then looked at a girl who sat in a chair. Who was she? Had Haley met her? She had a feeling she'd seen her around.

"Should we wave her over?" Haley asked, "She looks a bit ... alone."

Senium had decided that she should go to the dance, she would be in the company of her Master, and maybe she would have the chance to make some friends before school began, after all it was going to be hard enough on it's own when she started school, getting around between lessons and things like that.

Stepping inside the Great Hall for the first time, Senium gasped lightly and she blinked, the place was so beautiful and it was so vast, there were already some people there and very shyly she waved to them before setting her eyes on a woman in a black dress....that must be Briony, and Master was right, she was incredibly beautiful.

Smoothing down her white dress, Senium had her glamour ring on, and was glad that she was having a good day today in terms of her muscles.

Pyxis hummed as she fiddled with the lacy bits of her dress, staring at herself in the mirror. She liked her dress, even if it was rather risky for a 13 year old girl, however being a 13 year old girl meant she tried new things. She wondered if Parker would think she looked pretty in it, and her cheeks flushed red as she thought about it.

Pyxis made her way down to the Great Hall and looked around at the decorations, it looked beautiful. She smiled and walked hesitantly over to Haley with a shy smile. She could remember talking to her on the train ride home, and so she decided she'd talk to her now whilst she could see none of her other friends to talk to at all amongst the crowd of giggling girls and cocky boys.

"Hiya Haley." She greeted her. She then noticed that Charlotte was beside her and she smiled brightly at Charlotte. "Hey Char."

Alcyone frowned at Capella as the little girl fussed over her with a giddy expression on her face. She didn't want to leave her younger sister and brother so soon, yet she knew she had to go to school. She wanted to go to the ball as well at the start of school, it was exciting. She examined her dress in the mirror, her eyes bloodshot with bags under them as she sighed heavily. The only exciting thing she'd done over the holidays was escape with Ella and Cae and she'd run into Jay. That day had been brilliant, and her tutor had ignored them along with her parents afterwards- meaning they had no punishment. Alcyone pulled Ella into her arms as she began to cry, and Cae came over to hug her as well, sniffling.

"I don't want to leave, but I have to sweet hearts. I'll be home in the holidays, I promise, and when im a little older we can run away. Okay? We'll get out of here and we won't have to deal with them anymore." She promised to them, entwining her fingers with Capella's. And then, she was gone out the door, through the house and away to Hogwarts - her safe haven.

At Hogwarts, she was safe finally. She moved through the castle to the Great Hall, her eyes still bloodshot and tired as she stared around at everyone dancing. She sighed when she saw that Jay wasn't there, but her mood lifted as she saw Haley. She hurried over to Haley, a small smile sent towards Charlotte and Pyxis, girls in the year above her. She wrapped her arms around Haley in a hug before she stepped back to admire her. "You look beautiful." She said earnestly.

Ash stepped into the Great Hall for the very first time. It was awesome. He shoved his hands into his trouser pockets, and made his way into the hall. He couldn't wait for term to start, and hopefully tonight would be a kick-start way to making new friends. He literally couldn't wait.

Glancing around, Ash noticed a lot of students. He couldn't help but oggle at the older ones; they seemed really intimidating. He bit his lip and tried to spy anyone his age, or who shared the same expression of awe he imagined was written all over his face.

There was one girl, he noticed, that happened to be looking just like him. She was blonde and smoothing out the crinkles in her white outfit. He grinned a little and made his way over, trying to be as friendly as possible. "Hi," he said, holding out his hand. His parents hadn't taught him manners for nothing. "I'm Ash. You don't happen to be a first year here, too, right?"

Jaycie shyly rounded the corner to the ball. Her stuff was already upstairs, in her dorm, as she was staying over the last few days. Mentally she went over what she had done to herself to prepare - this was Jay's first ball, after all, and she was a second year at last.

Her make up hadn't been sweated off yet, thankfully it was a crisp night. Though it was light and natural-looking, Jay still thought her make up made an improvement. She liked it, she may wear it a bit during the coming year, but she doubted she'd remember to. Raising a hand up, she tenderly touched her smooth bun, making sure it was still feeling glossy. It didn't fell loose at all. And finally, she glanced down at her long, beautiful black dress. It swooshed with every move she made, and she was still in awe that her mother had found it in the back of the wardrobe. The thing must've been at least thirty years old, but it fit Jaycie like a dream. Though her mother did try and persuade her into some brighter coloured dresses, she'd clung fast to this one. It was gorgeous. The necklace and earings to match were her mother's as well, and Jaycie was proud to be wearing them.

Finally working up enough courage to move into the crowd, Jaycie stepped into the hall and immediately she gasped. It was amazing, the best decorations she'd ever seen in her life. Swallowing, Jay pushed her way forward. Glancing around, she spied Alcyone with some older girls near the drinks table, and made her way there as fast as possible.

"Alcy!" she exclaimed as she came within earshot.

Keiba bit her lip and examined herself in the mirror of the Ravenclaw Girl's dorm. She was staying for the rest of the holidays, with god knows who else, but she didn't mind. Keiba loved Hogwarts.

She really loved her dress, and she felt it was really appropriate to her age as well. Keiba was excited to be in possession of her new shoes, too. It was a pretty awesome outfit.

Her hair was half-up, half-down, and spilled over her shoulders. It had decided that tonight was the night to be frizzy and wildly curly, so it had taken a lot of Sleak-Eazy Gel to tame it. Her makeup was simple yet effective, and Keiba was starting to pride herself on how well she was making up her face. She certainly felt beautiful as she turned away from the mirror and hurried all the way downstairs.

The decorations were amazing and Keiba couldn't help but stare for a moment as she stepped slowly down the stairs. When she managed to tear her eyes away, she saw Haley, Pyxis, Charlotte and two second-years she didn't know standing at the buffet table. Just like last time.

The thought of the last ball wiped the smile off her face and sent a shiver down Keiba's spine, but she instantly wiped it from her mind. It wasn't long before her smile re-grew and she was by Haley's side.

"Sup, Hales!" She greeted with a wink. She leant forwards and hugged her friend, grinning. "Let me just say, everybody looks just fabulous."

Haley smiled happily to Pyxis when she walked over. "Hey Pyxis, how are you?" she asked kindly and then looked at her dress.

It was so beautiful and summerly, and she really liked the beads. "You look awesome," she remarked, her smile widening a bit.

Haley looked around and noticed two more she didn't know. Maybe they were first years? Then her eyes landed on a girl in a green dress, moving towards her with a smile. Haley felt her own smile widen considerably and hugged Alcyone happily back. She had really missed her during the break. But what she hadn't missed was how red Alcyone's eyes currently were. She'd been crying, Haley could easily tell.

"Hey Alcy," she said happily and then released her from the hug. "Thank you! You look amazing too! Green really suits you," she said earnestly and turned Alcyone around. She grinned at her friend. "Stunning," she said with a beam. She then turned somewhat serious and gave another hug to Alcyone. "Are you okay?" she whispered, knowing that maybe Alcyone didn't want everyone to hear that question, as it would lead to other.

So much was going on, and before Haley knew it Jaycie was standing there too, in a beautiful, dark dress. "Hey Jaycie! You look beautiful in that dress!" she said happily.

And then, suddenly, Keiba was there. Haley hugged her happily. "Hey Keibs! You look wonderful!" she exclaimed. Truth was Haley was a bit overwhelmed by all these people, and she was so happy to see them all. She was so glad to be back at Hogwarts.

"Oh, this is just amazing!" she said happily and jumped up and down happily before relaxing. "Okay, I'm a third year. I can manage to play it cool," she said calmly. Then she burst out smiling again. "No I can't!" she said, her beam back in place.

Sam watched as everyone saw there friends or boyfriends she was getting sick of not having friends but she was Apparentally to quiet to be friend to anyone, she got up and walked toward the doors.

Sam blinked and opened them and she walked out and she sat down on the steps outside, was Sam to quiet to be friends with anyone? Was she to weird for people? Was her scars pushing people away? Sam sighed and she rested her chin on her knees.

Charlotte smiled happily when she saw Haley and the rest of the girls that she hung out with coming over, it was nice to be surrounded by people that she knew and were comfortable with, after all she hadn't seen them all summer and she was beginning to miss them!

"Hey everyone." she said with a cheerful smile "You all look so lovely in your dresses, I'm so glad that Briony is holding another ball, it's a great way to get back into the swing of things before school begins again." she smiled even wider when the song changed to one that she liked.

Gently she began to sway on the floor and she hummed to herself, closing her eyes for a moment to loose herself in the music, seeing Haley's excitement, Charlotte grinned and she too was feeling excited about coming back to Hogwarts and entering her third year.

"Things have gone by so fast don't you think?" she asked, "Just think next year we have to decide what courses and things we want to take to be whatever we want to be when we leave Hogwarts."

Seeing that there was a girl leaving, Charlotte craned her neck and wondered why she was going, and she saw that it was Sam, and she looked a bit upset, so, motioning to the group that she would be back soon, she hurried off after her and found her sitting on the steps outside.

"Hey Sam, is everything okay?" she asked quietly, sitting next to her "Your friends not show up yet?"

Sam looked at Charlotte and shook her head " What friends? I have one friend that's in Slytherin all of my other friends are to busy with their friends" Sam said her voice rather dry she was trying hard not to cry everything happened to her.

She lost her parents, she had gotten kicked out of her own house by her 'Parents' and her other Slytheirn friend was with her friends as was Parker she sighed and blinked quite a few times she smoothed out her dress and smiled " I never thought I'd ever where a dress" she said laughing slightly.

Haley's excitement ebbed a bit away when she saw Charlotte walking after the girl that Haley had wondered if wanted come over before everyone showed up. She mentally kicked herself for not waving her over. Feeling slightly guilty, she excused herself from the rest and followed Charlotte. She was about to walk through the doors, when she heard the second year's dry voice. She sounded like she was on the verge of crying. No friends? Haley knew what that was like. She sighed. She shouldn't be listening, but she did. She smiled slightly when the second year laughed a bit by the weird fact that she was wearing a dress. Haley figured she'd go over now.

"Yeah, they're constricting and boring and somewhat annoying, especially if you're going to the toilet," she said with big, important eyes.

Then she grinned. "Ignore me, I say crazy stuff sometimes. I'm Haley Smith, third year Hufflepuff," she said kindly, reaching out a hand.

She gave a smile to Charlotte. She really loved that Charlotte was so considerate and cared about everyone else. It was a good quality to have, and Haley admired her friend for it.

"Do you wanna join us? We'll introduce you to them if you want to," she said, waving distinctly towards where the other girls were standing by the drinks.

Sam looked up and laughed " I tried to put pants on underneath the dress, it didn't work" Sam said sighing she hated dresses but the one she picked was tight and lose at the same time she sighed.

" Sam Hawthorn, Gryffindor second year" Sam said it was weird for her to say second year she smiled " I say crazy stuff too" she added she smiled at Charlotte as though asking if she could hang out with her and Haley she looked at Haley and gave her the same small smile.

Haley laughed. "I did that once too, but I was so young that I didn't realize that people could see the trousers when I was wearing a knee-long dress. I've been scarred ever since, and never even dared to think the thought," she said jokingly.

It actually had happened, but it wasn't so bad. And though Haley didn't like wearing dresses normally, she liked it on occasions like these.

"It's nice to meet you Sam, and now we and Chary here are going back to the gang and introducing you," Haley said with a big grin.

Haley smiled widely. "Well, that's one thing in common in less than 30 seconds. We'll be great friends, Sammy," she said happily, taking Sam and Char's wrist, dragging them back to the gang.

"Everyone, meet Sam, she's cool," Haley said with a beam.

Sam nodded " Well you could see the jeans outline when I walked" Sam said jokingly she was all of a sudden pulled up by her wrist and dragged to the great hall.

Sam gave them a short wave and she rubbed her arm awkwardly, she didn't know what to stay " Hi" she mumbled and she looked down at the floor.

Teresa came dressed in white. She had nothing to do so she just came to the ball. Soft music played. It was nice. She start humming along to it.

By five minutes, she felt bored, so she went to sit a table. She felt tired standing up and slowly fell into a light sleep.

"Hopefully, something fun will happen," she said, closing her eyes.

Eric walked in to the ball feeling awkward. He had asked Sam, and was more than a bit nervous. He had grown to like her last year and didn't want to blow it. He saw her and smiled. she looked great but uncomfortable. He pulled at his collar and walked over to her.

"Hey." He said shyly. He looked at her and smiled.

Sam listened to her friends conversation, When she heard a familiar voice she smiled when she noticed it was Eric she smiled " Hey, you look handsome" she said looking at him.

Sam had grown to like Eric the last year she was happy and surprised when he asked her to the ball she was happy when she said yes she looked at him and she smiled.

Anne walked into the ball. She had only gone because she didn't want to be the only one not going. She was afraid of what people would say about her. She hadn't healed over the summer. She still had Freak carved on her face. and Mudblood on her arm. She didn't want people to look at her strange because of it.

Anne walked over the dance floor and sighed seeing everyone. She saw a few people she knew and thought about going up to them. She decided against it and moved to a corner. She didn't really want to be seen. Everyone looked so nice it wasn't fair that she had to be the one with scars all over her face. She hadn't talked much only talking to Parker all summer. That was because he was there, no one else got it. Tessa didn't she couldn't see her face and Damien, well he had always been stronger.

Eva skipped into the ball. she loved how she looked today. She had lost all her hair over the summer but her mom had taken her to get a nice wig. When she had found out about the ball she had gotten her another one. So tonight her hair was straight and done very nicely.

She saw a girl falling asleep and went over to her. "What are you doing sleeping at a ball. Come on, lets go dance maybe they can play a fast song." She said rather fast. She smiled and tried to get her up.

Airen entered the ball and looked around. He seemed to arrive at a reasonable time. He breathed a sigh of relief. He looked around and saw Charlotte in a beautiful red dress. He smiled and walked over to her. He noticed that she seemed to be talking to a Gryffindor first, no second, year he'd seen around. He felt somewhat bad for not being as social as Charlotte. He decided to change that later.

Walking up behind Charlotte, he placed a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, Charlotte. Sorry I'm late," he said, hoping she'd forgive him. He placed an arm on her waist.

Eric smiled at the complement. "Thanks but I must look horrible next to you." He said honestly. She looked great easily the prettiest girl here. He smiled at Haley having seen her in the common room and extended his hand to Sam.

"You want to dance?" He asked. Hoping she would say yes. All the while he was trying to save her to memory. He wanted to try and draw this later.
