"Thank you," the Muhe student replied sincerely. Tarragon had tried to make her talk, Zara had tried to make her talk. But in the end, it was Ava that had made her say it out loud by not asking her to do anything at all. Alys supposed that was why Ava made her feel so comfortable, by never holding her up to any expectations and simply going along with whatever Alys wanted. Ava would never have forced her to talk if she hadn't wanted to.
"And if we ever do need to go to the forest, we can always take the Sweeney with us. They'll show all the monsters," the witch attempted to joke.
