Infiltration Exam (All Years) Empty Infiltration Exam (All Years)

Post by Cobalt Smith Wed Dec 05, 2012 1:46 am

Cobalt entered the exam hall where the students were waiting around. There were no chairs or desks in sight. Holding up a hand for silence, he gestured to his students,

"Students." he called to them, "Your exam in my class is not a written one; it is a practical one. You have to complete a task in order to pass my test."

He smirked slightly and gestured around the empty hall,

"You must successfully hide from me for at least five minutes." he told them, "You may use any technique you like but you cannot leave this room or damage it in anyway. I shall close my eyes. After twenty seconds the exam will begin."

He closed his eyes.

Infiltration Exam (All Years) Empty Re: Infiltration Exam (All Years)

Tabi into the hall to take her Infiltration exam and was not sure how she was going to do it. She had to elude the Professor for 5 mins which was not an easy task she had to think about it.

Tabi disillusioned herself and placing a silencing charm and snuck around until she found a table to hide underneath far away from the professor. Disillusioning herself first he would not know where she was. He was really smart and she hoped it would work now she would just have to sit and wait and pray.

Infiltration Exam (All Years) Empty Re: Infiltration Exam (All Years)

Post by Haley Vilde Smith Sun Dec 09, 2012 11:52 am

Haley walked into the Great Hall, prepared to do the best she could in this exam. She had studied every method of espionage and memory charms to make sure she was ready to infiltrate an office or something, something she had imagined them to do. But no. The task given to them proved to be a lot more difficult than she had imagined.

Professor Smith was without a doubt the most brilliant spy you could find. Or, at least, Haley thought so. So the fact that she had to hide from him, kinda put her on edge. But then again, she knew she would be able to hide for five minutes, maybe even ten, if she focused enough. She cracked a plan in twenty seconds, watching as he closed his eyes and then cast a silencing spell on herself, and a spot over in the middle of the room.

She then cast a disillusionment charm on herself and another spell that gave her time. A spell that would give her ten seconds warning before Smith would be able to find her. In other words, during those ten seconds, she would build herself a new hiding place and do exactly the same again. Cat and mouse might happen, but she would be able to focus on her job.

Then she begun and apparated to the other spot in the room to make sure professor Smith wouldn't have tapped in on her current whereabouts. When there, she made another silencing spot, in another place, to be a hundred percent sure he wouldn't find her. Then she waited, tapping into the time that would give her a headstart, should he get too close. Meanwhile, she stood still as a mountain.

Infiltration Exam (All Years) Empty Re: Infiltration Exam (All Years)

Post by Lucas Woodham Thu Dec 13, 2012 10:41 pm

Lucas entered the Exam Hall, a bit late, but he managed to hear the instructions. With a sigh he looked around. He attempted to Disillusion himself and got it right after a few tries, and afterwards he put a Silencing Charm on him. Then he ran, as quiet as a cat, towards a dark corner and disappeared in the shadows.

It was very dark in his corner, and it was hard to spot him, but since Professor Smith has been properly trained in these kind of things, the professor would probably spot him after looking around carefully, but Lucas was sure that he would still have a few minutes to hide somewhere else if ever he was spotted. After all, it would take the professor a minute or so to go to his spot; Lucas was rather far from the others.

Standing very still, he waited for the professor to open his eyes.

Infiltration Exam (All Years) Empty Re: Infiltration Exam (All Years)

Post by Airen Auditoren Mon Dec 17, 2012 8:17 am

Airen entered the Exam hall. He nodded to Professor Smith. He hoped the man held no ill will against him for the break-up of his relationship with Charlotte. He brushed those thoughts aside and focused on what he was here for. To pass his exams.

He whipped out his wand. He first looked around the room very quickly. An idea came to him as soon as he looked up. He quickly cast a disillusionment charm on himself. He silenced his feet , hands, and breath. He bolted for a wall. When he reached there, he cast a sticking charm on his hands, knees, and feet. He climbed up the wall. He laughed inwardly to himself at how the muggle had come up with the idea first. When he reached the roof. He whipped out his wand, and muttered a featherweight spell on himself, so he could better hold himself up.

And now for the final touch. he thought to himself. He put up his wand, and slid out his sword. Careful not to actually say any words, he put up sensitive Swordmage spells that would trigger a small quick sound. A skidding of a shoe, a muttered curse, a muffled gasp, or any small sounds. He placed them and corners well away from the other students.

As an added precaution, should his disillusionment charm fail, he cast the 'Chameleon's skin' Swordmage spell. He blended into the rock and stonework on the roof and waited, not moving a muscle except for his silenced breathing.

Infiltration Exam (All Years) Empty Re: Infiltration Exam (All Years)

Post by Charlotte Smith Mon Dec 17, 2012 8:32 am

Charlotte was waiting in the exam hall and she was quite happy there was no written exam for infiltration, although she knew that her job might be harder, Cobalt knew her better and knew what she would do to avoid him, so she couldn't help but think about what might be best to do in a situation like this.

Getting an idea in her head, Charlotte took a deep breath and when others began to get their techniques ready she didn't pay much attention but knew that she would start her own. Closing her eyes she shifted into a small beetle, not her favourite animal she had to say, it made her feel dizzy to be so low down, but, it would have to do.

Scurrying away she hid in the crack of the floor. Hoping this would be the last place Cobalt would check. If he did find her she would merely transfigure into one of the other students when she had gotten away in order to ensure that she remained undetected, her wand would be useful as she would have to perform dissalusion charms if she was detected.

Infiltration Exam (All Years) Empty Re: Infiltration Exam (All Years)

Post by Humphrey Williams Mon Dec 17, 2012 10:56 am

Humphrey walked into the exam hall, curious to see what the Infiltration exam would be about. Professor Smith always made things practical, which made sense considering the subject. If you couldn't actually infiltrate then or hide or things like that there was no use learning about it. There was studying involved, but this was a more interactive class that he loved.

When he heard what they were doing he grinned, this would be an excellent challenge for him. He cast the disillusionment charm non verbally, as well as a silencing charm. Looking around he noticed a row of the Hogwarts knights at one end of the hall. Hurrying over, he vanished one of them. Casting a glamour charm he took the knight's place in the long row, taking off his disillusionment charm. He would hide in plain sight as it were, hopefully it would be effective.

Infiltration Exam (All Years) Empty Re: Infiltration Exam (All Years)

Post by Cobalt Smith Wed Jan 02, 2013 3:48 am

After the time had finally ran out Cobalt rolled his neck to work out the muscles in it quite well. Opening his eyes he paused for a second before chuckling. He waved his wand and the doors to the hall slammed shut with a resounding slam. Looking around, he smirked slightly,

"Alright then..." he muttered to himself as he looked away the room, all of the walls, the floor and the ceiling. Humming a little bit he knealt down on the ground and pressed the tip of his wand against the stone of the ground. The tip began to spark as Cobalt twisted and worked it against the stone.

The magical wand erroded the stone, making a rather large pile of dust next to Cobalt's feet. Muttering a few words he enlarged the pile of dust until it was up to his knees. Taking a deep breath he lashed out with his magic, causing a small explosion of air in the centre of the dust mound, sending dust flying through the room.

Immediately he began to see the effect.

Dust stopped where it had no right stopping, in midair if the charms were to be believed. Casting stunners faster than most students could ever hope to see, Cobalt stunned the person under the table (Tabi) and the person in the dark corner (Lucas). Both had done passable jobs at the disillusionment charm.

He paused when some of the dust billowed away, seeming to be sucked into a small vacuum. Only to appear across the room, where none of the rest of the sand had reached yet. Disapparation. He was glad someone had noticed he'd deactivated the wards. He locked the wards back on with a grunt of effort before stunning the faster mover (Haley).

That left three people if he was not mistaken; Charlotte, Airen and Humphrey. Of course he had a nose equal to that of a bloodhound and could use it to find them easily but he'd blocked his own sense of smell to keep it mostly fair.

Looking around, Cobalt paused for a moment, smiling as he did so. Oh they were doing well! Thinking about it for a moment, Cobalt began to walk up and down the hall, scrutinising everything. It was on his fifth walk through that he noticed the bettle half hidden in a crack in the floor. Hogwarts elves were very thorough in killing bugs though. Levitating the bug out of the crack he smiled a little bit and stunned the bug. When it was stunned it shifted back into Charlotte.

Daddy's little girl was sneaky.

Looking around, Cobalt hummed a little bit. Well that let him know that some of them had though of less obvious ways of hiding. Transfiguration huh? On that line of thought he began to cast harmless stinging curses at all the furniture. On the sixth suit of armour he grinned and sent a stunner, moving to catch Humphrey before he fell flat on his face. Gently placing the teen on the ground he smirked a little bit,

"Well done Mr Auditoren... last man standing!" he said with a little chuckle, "You've done well."

There was a muffled voice from across the hall and Cobalt took a half step towards it before his eyes narrowed and he stopped. No. No that was too easy. Looking around, he heard another little sound in the same direction. But... no... it wasn't coming from there. There was sound in that direction, to be sure, but there was no weight behind it. There was no reason for Airen to be making these noises since he was already well hidden. It was a distraction and nothing more.

Waving his wand the dust lifted off the ground all across the hall, hovering just above the ground. Grinning, he sent it all straight up at the ceiling. As with the first lot the dust stuck against a disillusioned figure. Stunning the figure (Airen), Cobalt cast finate incantatum.

Then had to spring into action to catch the falling teenager as his spell had cancelled what had obviously (now at least) been a sticking charm too. Chuckling a little bit, Cobalt set Airen down and revived his entire class,

"Very well done to all of you!" he congratulated them, "You may leave. Your score will be owl'd to you."
