Marching On (Open)

Haley walked through the Silent Woods, wondering how she had gotten to where she was now. She was in her seventh and final year of Hogwarts, she was training to become an auror, she had lost too many friends, but most of all, she was orphaned. And still she was marching on.

Life had been very cruel to her, but it had been cruel to so many people. She couldn't believe the extent of pain the whole populization of Britain was feeling at this very moment. First the battle between Durmstrang and Hogwarts, crashing the first year ball, then the creatures threatening like hell to cause an uproar, then the rebels killing all her friends and now the virus which had taken her favorite professor's kid. But still, she marched on.

The world had crashed around Haley when she lost her parents, the glass had been shattered into a thousand pieces when losing her friends, and the pieces had become so small that they were left cold and unbreakable. She couldn't remember the fifth year at Hogwarts. It had been so dark. But to stop the marching, was unthinkable.

She was starting to adapt to being alone, though it might not be what she was really looking for, but nonetheless, she did try. She tried hard as well. And finally, it was getting her somewhere. She smiled slightly when she saw the first rays of sunlight shine through the trees, but jumped skyhigh when she heard something.

Melody stepped on a branch.The noise was surprisingly loud and she saw Haley jump at the sound.
"Sorry I didn't mean to startle you I was just going for a walk,"she said.Jinxy shortly appeared beside her,her faithful pet usually went everywhere with her.
