Background Information:

James grew up in a large family (not rare for Weasleys) and he was the second oldest. He went to Hogwarts, and like all good Weasleys, was sorted into Gryffindor which gave him an immense pride for the House.
He played Quidditch as a Beater and enjoyed the sport, though an injury in his final year of Hogwarts kept him from playing. He helped his mother run their sweets shop on Diagon Alley where he became friendly and accustomed to Muggles and young Wizards.
James grew up in a mid class family, his side fiercely defended Molly and Arthur, however, which kept them from the elite of the pure blood group.
He met a younger Muggle born Witch while working at his mother's shop and fell in love immediately. She was, however, still at Hogwarts. James did the best he could to strike a friendship with the lass and was ecstatic when she reciprocated his admiration. They married a couple years after she graduated from Hogwarts.
James' greatest pleasure besides his family are flying.
