Divination Lesson 4

Sofia was not sure where the previous teacher had left off, but she always decided that it was best to start at the beginning. First she needed to set up the room the way she thought it would best fit for the mood.

Any good seer knows they best way to study the art of divination a quiet and peaceful environment is the best setting.

Sofia was never one for light blue walls with clouds, one of her professors thought that was the perfect settings. Sofia on the other hand loved it dark. Darkness always made for the perfect setting.

She walked around the room changing all the walls completely black, with green lamps over the individual tables. Each of the tables was set up for two people.

Also another thing that Sofia loved was the sound of running water in the background. So around the room she placed a waterfall that ran over all the walls.

Finally looking around the room she decided to go up to her desk and set up her items for the first lesson.

While she had to sit around for the students to arrive she placed her mat on the floor and sat Indian style on it with one of her hands placed on each knee and waited for the students.

After walking up all the staircases of what seemed to be the entire castle, Haley walked towards the Divination classroom. She wasn't as tired as she normally got, so she figured the training she was doing on her spare time was paying off.

When she walked into the classroom, she saw professor Slytherin sitting with her eyes closed in an Indian pose. Haley grinned, but didn't want to disturbe her, so she merely sat down on one of the spots in the front, finding a comfortable position and waited for the rest of the class so it could start.

Parker thought it would be interesting to sign up for Divination, and grew quite excited for it after the event at the Library. Though the trek up the stairs was almost not worth it. He walked slowly up, enjoying looking out the windows that he passed. When he made his way to the room, he walked in quietly, smiling a little when he saw Haley.

Parker walked in, taking a seat at another table near her and giving a silent wave. He took out the book he got, eager to get started.

Agatha stomped her way into the classroom. What the hell was she thinking? Divination... the subject was a joke and yet she had this strange urge to sign up for it. Not wanting to be seen or bothered she sat in the far back feeling unnerved by the darkness of the room. How are they supposed to learn something when she could barely see the books in front of her.

This classroom is weird. She decided while rubbing her arms and trying to ignore the creepy feeling she had since she walked in. I can always drop the class. she kept telling herself mentally.

Humphrey Williams entered the Divination Classroom. Since Professor Slytherin had read his and charlotte's future he had a lot more interest in the class and...dare he think it...belief in divination!
"Hello Agatha, I believe we have History of Magic together." he told the newest addition to the divination class.

Haley waved back at Parker as he entered the classroom.

"You decided to join the class too, eh?" she asked with a grin.

"Hello Haley. Come sit over here." He motioned to the desk on his right.

"Humphrey, I'm sitting over here because I want to sit here. If you want to sit with me, then please do, but I'm sitting here," Haley said calmly, but with a smile on her face.

After Leshia was made to go to the library for the impromptu event she decided that she wanted to take this class, it was very interesting and she wanted to learn more.

When she walked into the class she saw Professor Slytherin sitting in a mediation position in the middle of the floor then she saw Haley and Parker sitting there.

"Oh my god, I am so glad the two of you are in this class with me, I thought I would get stuck with just Humphrey. After his reading in the library I knew he had to be hooked." Leshia said as she sat down with the two of them.

Haley grinned. "Nah, I'm no geek when it comes to Divination. It's just superinteresting! But hey, it's time to learn and forget over the holidays, isn't it? Oh, I can't waaaait," she whined with a pained expression.

Then she turned to Leisha again. "So, is this your first lesson in Divination as well? Because it's mine," she said with big, scared eyes.

"Yeah, I remember you" She smiled watching the Gryffindor sit next to her. "You don't have to sit her" she told him after his friend said she wasn't moving to the back of the class. "I won't mind if you decided to sit with them" She motion in the direction the other girl was sitting along with a few others.

Agatha was used to being by herself having started the year way after the others. She didn't really have any friends here or at the orphanage. Sometimes she hoped someone from her old life would find her or that she would remember what her life was like before the 'accident'. Who was she kidding? It had been months and she had no memories back except for the weird dreams she had every now and then.

Haley overheard her fellow housemate, Agatha, say that Humphrey could join them. Haley then realized that she had never really gotten the chance to talk to Agatha before.

"Hey, why don't you both join us? I mean, it'd be much cozier if we sat together, seriously. And though professor Slytherin can be a bit scary, she's a great person, so she won't really bite your head off," Haley joked.

She honestly wanted to get to know the Hufflepuff. She didn't know the other who went in her house, but when she had the chance, she really should get to know Agatha. Then they could return to Hogwarts, being friends.

Leshia thought about Haley's question. "Technically I learned a little in a lesson Professor Slytherin did in the library the other night."

Haley then invited a girl by the name of Agatha over to sit with them.

"Hay come on Agatha join us" Leshia tapped the seat next to her.

Sofia took one last deep breathe then stood up and looked around at all the students in the class. She was glad to see she had so many students.

"Welcome to divination, seeing is this is the last class of the year we will go ahead and make it simple."

Looking across the classroom looking at the students.

"So which one of you can tell me you thought about what is Divination? Someone besides Humphrey and Leshia."

Parker smiled back at Haley. "I thought that I might as well, join this one too." He then smiled at Leshia as she took her seat. He then turned back to the front of the class thinking how he actually wasn't to excited for going home and wished he could actually stay. He was homesick and did miss his parents, but he hardly saw them anyway and after one day he knew he'd have nothing to do once home.

When Haley and Leshia called the other hufflepuff girl over, Parker looked over at her, wondering if he'd ever seen her around before.

When prof. Slytherin began talking he turned his attention towards her. Parker wasn't quite sure exactly what Divination was, but from what he could tell it was basically fortune telling. Usually not one to participate, and not being completely sure, he waited for someone else to say.

Haley raised her hand to reply, thinking hard about her answer so she wouldn't forget it.

She honestly wasn't quite sure what professor Slytherin wanted her to say, but she figured it was worth trying.

Humphrey walked over to sit by Haley and the new girl Agatha. "So, who here thinks Professor Slytherin is cool?" he asked them.

"I think she's pretty awesome," Haley whispered quickly, not wanting to chat too much, knowing it could easily knock off some points.

So she remained silent from then on, waiting for professor Slytherin to ask someone.

Looking around the room she was wondering who she would call upon. Since Haley was the only one who was not at the reading in the library she decided to call upon her.

"Ok Ms. Haley what are your feelings about divination?"

Sofia smiled at the young girl, she was really beginning to like this student, she was always so eager to learn.

Haley smiled. "Well, I think Divination is a class about the unknown and, well, the future. At the same time, I feel it is a completely different way of magic and thereby extremely interesting. It also seems to be a very hard class considering how precise the art of divination is. And though I have read up on the subject, it seems that it isn't something you can learn easily from just reading about it," she said with a smile.

Sofia listen very close to Ms. Smiths answer and she thought the girl had an excellent way of understanding how divination work. Too many times people have looked to divination as the answers to all of their problems, like Mr. Williams did only to have it backfire in their face because they took out of it what they wanted to hear.

"Very good job Haley, I believe you might posess the inner site with some training. You have the prefect understanding of what Divination is. 10 points to you madam." Sofia looked around the room.

"Now looking in you books on page 10 can anyone give me one card out of your basic tarot deck"

Humphrey raised his hand immediately, hoping to get called on. He had been treated to an actual tarot card reading by the Divination Professor. He waited to see if he would be allowed to answer.

Sofia looked around the around the room to see if there were any hands. Sofia noticed that Mr. Williams had his hand up. Sofia thought about it and the more she looked at Mr. Williams she thought of Hermione Granger..always having an answer for everything.

"Alright Mr. Williams you may give me a card, but not one of those five I gave you during that worthless reading I gave you."

Leshia heard the question and quickly opened her book..Granted she had been at the little lesson in the library but she wanted to see some cards that were not involved in the reading. She was about to raise up hand until she noticed that Humphrey got his hand up..

Leshia just shook her head, was there anything that boy didn't know or couldn't do.

Sofia was waiting for Mr. Williams to answer when she got a note from an elf stating that Mr. Williams had to leave.

"Mr. Williams you are needed in the headmistresses office so you may leave." With that Sofia watched Mr. Williams gather his things and leave.

"So now since he needs to leave the class, I need someone else to answer the question. Ms. Smith would you care to answer it for me. I would call on Ms. Prewett, or Mr. Emery, but they were at my reading in the library."
