Lesson One- Wingardium Leviosa

Lydia Weasley walked about the classroom with a handful of feathers. She was nervous about her first day teaching, fearing that she wouldn't be able to do it. She was so young, and Charms wasn't her strongest subject. But she came here with James and Briony Romain had asked if she wouldn't mind teaching the last open class. Lydia had dedicated herself to mastering Charms and she knew how to teach younger Magicals how to do it. Or at least she hoped.

She walked around, placing feathers on the desks before returning to the front of the classroom. Here she wrote with her hand "Wingardium Leviosa."

This class we will be focusing on causing our feathers to levitate Lydia smiled as she though back to her first Charms class where she learned the same thing. With a smirk she added to the board REMEMBER: It's Wingardium Levi-O-SA....not Levi-O-SAR"

She placed the chalk down and then went to her desk, sitting down to await the students.

Airen entered the Charms room. He briefly wondered where Professor Starr was, but pushed the thought aside in preparation for the lesson, He sat down in his seat and waited for the class to begin.

"Good morning, Professor," he greeted kindly. He got out his quill, ink, and parchment.

Pxyis was quick to arrive to Charms, for she was most excited for it. She was positive it would be her favourite lesson next to Potions, and she wanted to succeed in it so she had read everything she possibly could in the Charms textbook.

Pxyis took a seat and beamed at the teacher whilst she got out her book and flipped it open to the page about Wingardium Leviosa - The Levitating Spell. She was ready to learn.

Salina spotted Pxyis as she entered the classroom, and had felt somewhat closer to her after their meeting at the Black Lake so she smiled at her and walked over, pulling out the chair beside her and sitting down. She noticed how cheerful Pxyis looked, and how her textbook was already open.

She too got her Charms textbook out of her bag and placed it on the table, but she didn't feel like reading so she took to staring out the window as she waited for class to start.

Corinne entered the classroom in a grumpy haze, for she hated learning and didn't feel like it at all today. She was stunned when she saw her twin sister sitting with her already-worst-enemy, Pxyis Wilson, and the two looked quite content to be next to each other.

Corinne went to storm over to her sister and demand what she was doing, but decided against it. She really wasn't in the mood to talk today, so she sat right up the back and leant her head against the wall, her eyes falling shut as she fell asleep.

Felling good about knowing exactly where the class was, not to mention being on time, and not too early by the looks of it, Parker entered the room quietly, looking around at familiar looking people. He took his seat in the back, away from the others, contently taking out his book, looking around curiously at the feathers as well as at the board.

Haley walked calmly into the classroom with her books, and sat down in the back, next to a sleeping girl. Haley was rather tired herself and figured that if she sat down next to the girl, she wouldn't be disturbed. Then she looked at the feather and blackboard. Levitating? Haley smiled. She loved everything that lingered over the ground. This was just awesome!

Darren ran to class, thinking he was late, but noting that just a few students were there, he sighed in relief and collapsed into a chair, panting.

"Let us begin, class." Lydia finally said, noticing that most of the registered students had arrived. "I ask that each of you please look at the feather before you. We are going to be working on a Levitating Spell today. I am sure that those of you who have Wizarding Parents might have heard about this lesson," She smiled. "For now all I want you to do is practice trying to make the feather float."

She took her wand in her hand. "Do a simply, gracefully zig zag motion forward while commanding Wingardium Leviosa"

She demonstrated and her feather flew up into the air.

Airen observed the teachers instructions with keen eyes and ears. He watched the motions the professor made with her wrist. He looked at his feather. It seemed simple enough. He whipped out his wand. Slowly moving his wand like the professor did, he made sure to get the wand movement down.

"Wingardium Leviosar," he said. Nothing happened. He looked up at the professor. He was just about to ask her for help when he caught sight of the board. Smiling slightly at his silly little mistake. He tried again.

"Wingardium Leviosa." This time, the feather slowly drifted upward. He beamed proudly up at it as if hovered a few feet above his desk.

Pxyis listened to the teacher's instructions with interest, but when she said a 'zig zag' motion Pxyis shook her head in disagreement, raising her hand as she stared at the teacher. "Miss, im sorry, but isn't it swish and flick... like so," Pxyis picked up her wand and pointed it at the feater.

She swished her wand sideways through the air and flicked it downwards at the feather, saying in the correct pronounciation, "Win-gar-dium Leviosa." She watched with delight as the feather began to drift upwards. She had of course been sneakily practicing at home, and the trace hadn't picked her up for she lived in a house with two magical parents, and she also had a nanny who was a witch.

Leshia told herself she was trying to take too many classes, but she was bored and wanted something to do. Leshia ran into charms class hoping she wasn't late, but discovered that class had already began she quickly sat down in the back of the class where the only seats were left.

"Sorry Professor" she mumbled.

She caught that the teacher was teaching the Wingardium Leviosa spell.

"Do a simply, gracefully zig zag motion forward while commanding Wingardium Leviosa" said Professor Weasley

Leshia prepared to do the movement when she felt the table move and the chair slide. What the heck she thought so she looked over in time to see her sister flop down in the chair next to her.

Tabi did not realize that they had found a Charms professor and the class was starting so when she found out she was like crap I have to get there.

Tabi rushed to get to class hoping she hadn't missed much of the class. When she reached the classroom she looked around and notice the only seat that was left open was the seat next to her sister. Well this ought to be interesting Tabi thought.

Tabi had bumped the table slide out the chair and flopped herself into the chair and the smiled at Leshia.

"Well interesting to see you here, my darling twin" Tabi said with a smirk.

"Tabitha if you do not mind I am trying to focus on this spell" Leshia said sternly

"Besides I really do not want to get into any more trouble I really wish you would just leave me alone." Leshia comment as she went back to practicing making her feather fly.

Salina nodded in agreement when Pxyis challenged what the teacher was saying, before hearing a commotion behind her and Leshia's annoyed tone. She turned around to see that annoying Slytherin, Tabi, smirking at Leshia whilst her friend looked most displeased. "Im going to sit with Leshia, sorry Pxyis," Salina muttered to the girl, before gathering her stuff and moving back to where Leshia was.

She sat down next to her and tossed a glare at Tabi before smiling sweetly at Leshia. "Hey Leshia," she greeted her, before turning to her feather. She attempted the zig-zag motion like her teacher had said. "Wingardium Leviosa!" She incanted, and the feather did nothing. She instead, swished her wand and flicked it like Pxyis. "Wingardium Leviosa!" She repeated, and the feather hovered a bit before falling again, proving Pxyis right.

"Is this your... er... charming twin?" Salina said sarcastically, motioning towards Tabi as she swished and flicked her wand again before repeating the spell and watching as her feather hovered an inch or so then drifted downwards.

Leshia was about to knock Tabi in the head she was so mad at her at the moment. Why couldn't she have been in another class or at another table.

Leshia felt a little better when Salina came back and sat next to her.

"Is this your... er... charming twin?"

Leshia did her swish movement and said "Wingardium Leviosa" and watched as her feather floated above her.

"Charming is not the exact word I would use, rude is more appropriate." seethed Leshia threw her teeth as she glared at Tabi.

"Thank you for coming back here, you might have just saved me from getting detention."

"Charming is not the exact word I would use, rude is more appropriate." seethed Leshia whilst she glared at Tabi. Salina watched as Leshia's feather hovered above their desk before she turned to look at Tabi with raised eyebrows. She looked at her own feather and laughed at Leshia's comment.

"You don't say. Isn't she the one that is adamantly rude to the Gryffindor girl.. Alice? You know," Salina then looked at Tabi and began talking to her. "Some of us are able to move on from past prejudices, or are you to busy living in the past to notice you're about to walk into a brick wall?" Salina said to Tabi, smirking.

She didn't like Tabi, based on what her best friend Leshia had said about her, and they way she acted towards other students in class. It was just downright rude, and she no better than her own twin. "You should really be friends with Corinne, your both rude and nasty with a passion, holding on to the past like pathetic losers," Salina felt bad about talking like her twin like that, but she was currently annoyed with Corinne for being so horrible to Pxyis, and Pxyis was a very nice girl.

Tabi had listen to what her sister said to her friend.

"Charming is not the exact word I would use, rude is more appropriate."

"Oh please Lesh, you know I have always been charming in my own way." Tabi smirked

Tabi could not help but glare at the girl next to Leshia as she was talking as if Tabi wasn't there.

"Some of us are able to move on from past prejudices, or are you to busy living in the past to notice you're about to walk into a brick wall?"

Tabi thought who in the heck did this girl think she was, Tabi wasn't prejudice.

"Who do you think you are, I am not prejudice, I just do not like stupid annoying people." Tabi said in a raised whisper.

"You should really be friends with Corinne, your both rude and nasty with a passion, holding on to the past like pathetic losers,"This girl said about whom she guessed must have been her twin sister by the looks of her

"Maybe I should then maybe I could find a twin that would at least apprecaiate me for what and who I am"

At this point Tabi was so mad she was on the verge of pulling out her wand.

Leshia was afraid things were going to really start to get heated between Salina and Tabi. She was so mad at Tabi right now she wanted to hit her. She had always in the background when it came to Tabi and with this new friends she had a feeling she was going to be able to show a little more pride in herself.

"Oh please Lesh, you know I have always been charming in my own way." Tabi smirked

At the comment that Tabi just made Leshia wanted to loose the dinner she hadn't eaten yet.

"Yeah a charming as a Chimera maybe" Leshia was never one to swear but of course at home she was always the one to get in trouble when Tabi did it.

"Maybe I should then maybe I could find a twin that would at least apprecaiate me for what and who I am"

"Yeah why don't you just do that, Corrine would be perfect for you." Leshia spat out at Tabi

"Actually," Lydia didn't appreciate the challenge that her student gave. "I should think that the spell you are commanding is the levioso spell. It would do well for a student to not correct a teacher. Ten points from Slytherin. Also, ladies, I do not appreciate the talking. Five from Ravenclaw and another five from Slytherin."

Lydia shook her head in disappointment. Students were so rude these days.

"Now thank you very much for your efforts today. Class Dismissed."
