1st Year: First Lesson: Spiky Bushes

It was her first time being a professor. So it was obvious she had pressured herself, for doing her best, she expected no less. She was a Ravenclaw after all, and came from a very well respected pureblood family that new all about magical plants and their connection to Potions and Magical Creatures.

But she had mixed feeling about being here. She wasn't good with people let alone children. She lost her patience really easily and she would get angry and tend to explode, and she really didn't want that. But it was her duty to teach the future wizarding generation about what her knowledge about magical plants. It would help them in every way, now that the war was closer to them. So it would make her feel a bit of good, just to know that she had a small part in helping them.

Looking around the Herbology Gardens, she compared them to Hogwarts. These ones were much larger but gloomy. Making her feel slightly depressed. She had divided the gardens into four tables, one for each house. Gaby had filled the gardens with various magical plants even including the ones that she had discovered. There was no chalkboard or a desk for her. She preferred to stand and walk around while she spoke about Herbology, it made her feel empowered, she was in her zone.

It was almost time for her first years to come and take class, so she quickly put her hair up in a ponytail-she never liked having it on her face when she was working, and she put on her leather fingerless gloves. Taking a deep breath, she prayed to Merlin that she wouldn't loose her temper. It wasn't a pretty sight.

Gabriela was immediately serious when her first student a Risiko entered the garden and sat at her table.

Looking at her pocket watch, she had a five minute tolerance. If someone came after that, she was not going to let them enter. She came here to teach, and whoever wanted to learn would come early or on time, she would focus on them-the rest well they would have to go to her office.

Ella-May sauntered coolly into the garden and made her way over to the Geschick table. She nodded at Keaira, and then smiled softly at the teacher. She was really quite eager to begin, she had very little knowledge of Herbology and wanted to start straight away. It would make an interesting topic to study, she concluded.

The atmosphere of the gardens certainly wasn't such an inviting one, but Durmstrang was like that. Ella knew what to expect and she accepted it as she found it, no questions asked. Even though her mind mulled over things subconsciously.

Gabriela smiled at seeing another student-a Geschick. Her husband had belonged to that house.

When the student smiled at her, she nodded. Checking her pocket watch again, she saw that time was up. She was quiet excited at showing her students about magical plants.

Whoever missed her class, she would tell her students to tell them to meet her at her office.

Well class will begin.

"Good day students. I'm Professor Covarrubias, and I will be teaching you all you need to know about magical plants and it's relations with potions and magical creatures. I assume you have already read my rules and method of teaching and that there are no questions." Her voice was authoritative, her yes roamed the gardens, waiting for her students to nod.

Ella nodded sternly, knowing she already like this teacher - the stricter they were, the better for you, the more you learnt. Discipline was key, and she was certainly excited to see what plants and environments they'd be studying. That was the way she was raised and that was what she liked when it came to her education.

"Very well then." Gabriela said, while she started to walk around the garden, "I also assume that you have read or even skimmed through One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi . Can anybody tell me what magical plant we are going to see?"

She stopped in front of the Geshick table, her eyes roamed her students, waiting for an answer.

Eilee entered the class and suited herself up. She stood by her table patiently. She was good with herbs but these were magic herbs and she had no clue how to handle these kinds. They were very different that from the ones her Nana had raised her to use. She smiled politely at the teacher, ignoring the sun's glare on her face. She stood quietly; afraid that she would get it wrong. This teacher was strict but it was good for a teacher to be strict.
