The life-changing news (Closed)
Haley walked over to the pensieve and looked into it. She didn't want to witness this, but she needed to. She couldn't leave it be. She had to relive it so she could be a hundred percent sure it had happened at all. She dipped her head into the fluid and lost balance. She fell down and down and then landed on a green field. A green field just outside Caerphilly castle.
She saw herself sitting in a meditating pose, probably trying to think of things she wanted to learn in Divination. The present Haley walked over to the past one and looked at her. It was weird seeing herself before the news arrived. She looked so different now. She was colder. The girl sitting on the ground was happy. Her face still had color, her eyes were still joyful. Then a yell sounded and both of the Haleys looked up. They saw one of the servants running up to them. "Ms. Haley! It's a note from the Ministry to you!" she said with a smile.
Past-Haley walked over to the servant and accepted the letter with a smile. She then opened it with happy hands. Present-Haley remembered that she thought that maybe it was from her parents. Maybe they were coming home. Past-Haley looked at the letter as she opened it. Her eyes skimmed through. Then she read through it again. And again. And again. Her eyes started filling themselves with tears. Both of the Haleys were crying. But Past-Haley screamed out loudly in pain. Present-Haley cried silently. She had memorized the words in the letter.
Dear miss Smith,
We are deeply sorry to have to tell you these news. As you are well aware of, your parents were positioned in Germany to spy on the ambassy. We are regretable to have to inform you that they died in duty. Your parents were fine people that would do anything for their country. Please, send an owl to us if there is anything you want to know.
Yours truly,
Ministry for Magic.
Past-Haley kept on crying, the servant trying to console her. Present-Haley was no longer crying. She had seen enough. She felt herself rising and was soon standing in front of the pensieve again. Then she sighed and walked out of the room with a cold expression on her face.
