It's Carnival! (Char and Cobie) Empty It's Carnival! (Char and Cobie)

Cobalt and Charlotte appeared in the packed streets of Rio De Janeiro, everything and everyone in sight covered in bright and exotic colours. There was a parade down the centre of the street, music played from everywhere and absolutely everyone was having a good time, losing themselves in the beat of the music and the pace of their frantic dancing. Casting a spell so that Charlotte would be able to hear his voice above all of the noise but without making it too loud, Cobalt turned to his daughter, holding her hand tightly with a grin,

"It's carnival Charlotte!" he joked lightly before scooping his daughter up and putting her on his shoulders, mingling with the other people enjoying the experience.

Charlotte gasped when they were suddenly transported to a busy hustling and bustling carnival, she couldn't believe it, the sights of the dazzling colours the smell of the warm tropical air, the sounds of the music and the beats of the drums echoing around the streets.

Grinning she adjusted her shorts and strap tshirt, already feeling hot Becausr of the climate and because of all the bodies pressing around her, a man looked at her and winked, giggling nervously Charlotte winked awkwardly back and turned to face Cobalt.

"It's wonderful! I love it Papa! What shall we do first? Is there a place to dance? What about the food? Is that coconut milk?"

Charlotte asked as she whisked off to look at a stall manned by a cheerful and large Brazilian woman.

Cobalt had to stop the flow of magic to his nose, a rather hard thing to do if he was honest, lest the strange and powerful scents overwhelm him. The place seemed to be MADE of spices for god's sake! And what wasn't smelt like sweat and something else.

Noticing the way the man had winked at Charlotte, and the way she had nervously and giddily, Cobalt made a mental note to keep a close eye on Charlotte but to still let her have free-ish reign,

"Well I'm glad you love it so much Charlotte because Carnival lasts all night!" he told her with a happy laugh, "There are stallers and street walking merchants for food and drink... to dance... You dance anywhere you can!"

Laughing lightly, Cobalt followed his daughter to the stall and ordered two cups of coconut milk,

"Yes it is." he grinned as he passed one to Charlotte, "Sip it first, to see if you like it."

When Cobalt said that the dancing would last all night and so would the rest of the carnival she couldn't believe her luck, she had certainly picked the right place to go for their holiday she thought.

It was so completely different to Britain in such a big way that she couldn't help but love it.

"All nighter! Woooo! You will let me stay up all night won't you Papa? Pweese?"

She asked with a pout, making her eyes larger to give the effect of puppy dog eyes, it would hopefully be successful. Hearing her Papa laugh made Charlotte happy above all else. She loved him so much.

"This is going to be so awesome, I can tell it's going to be one of the best days that I've ever had!"

Taking the cup, Charlotte did as she was told and sipped it, making a face, she didn't really like it but didn't want to say, so she just drank more, hoping it would taste better.

"Mnmmmm."

Of course, Cobalt reflected with a small groan, with the party going on all night there was a very real possibility that Charlotte would push for the two of them to stay till the end of the party. And that was well past her bedtime. Deciding that it was okay, as it was a holiday, Cobalt ignored it,

"Yeah it's a real blast! The main parties go on until about 6 in the morning." he grinned, "We can stay till the end of the main parties, at about 5/6 but none of the small ones."

Seeing that she was so happy was making Cobalt so happy that he was actually laughing instead of just amused chuckles. He kissed Charlotte on the forehead with a large smile,

"You're damn right it'll be awesome!" he looked back and forth, as if about to tell her something secret before grinning, "Since this is your first carnival... and I know the sobering charm... you can even get TWO alcoholic drinks if you want!"

Being a master at reading body language, Cobalt could tell that Charlotte didn't much care for the coconut milk and chuckled a little bit,

"How about we try some of that spiced chicken on a stick the man is selling over there?" he grinned, "Can't party a night away without food!"

Charlottes mouth dropped open when Cobalt said that the parties go on until six in the morning at the earliest, and it was something she didn't think that anyone could do, let alone herself, but the atmosphere was that electric she could see herself lasting a long while.

"Wow, six am, how on ever do people do this all the time? I would be completely tired all of the time...are all these people wizards?"

When Cobalt smiled again, laughing, and kissing her head, Charlotte found that she was the happiest that she had been in a while, the air itself smelt of strong spices and it enraptured her.

"Its so magical here Papa, so different, it really does seem like a completely different culture, and it is!"

Alcohol hmm? Charlotte hadn't even thought of that, and as she followed Cobalt to the chicken Charlotte couldn't help but take a deep breath and grin happily.

"It smells delicious! I'd love some! Although the alcohol I'm not so sure about that. It makes you tired doesn't it?"

He grinned at the way she reacted to the idea of partying until 6 in the morning. Some people really just had to dance when music was played and carnival was christmas to those people,

"Well they don't do it all of the time... Carnival is only held once a year. There are smaller ones during the year but this is the main one." He chuckled a little bit, "Not at all. About 2% of them will be wizards but there's so much going on in Carnival that magic is just seen as being part of it."

Cobalt smiled happily with his daughter, an arms around her shoulders for both of their comfort and to give Charlotte a continual one-armed hug,

"It is a whole new world here Charlotte!" he told her with a wide grin, "Here the world is different... the world is wild even in the cities Char!"

Cobalt laughed lightly, having given Charlotte something to think about with the alcohol comment. He grinned as he bought a stick of spicy chicken bits for the two of them to share,

"Here we go Char-kitty!" he told her with a grin before winking at her, "That's very wise Char! Yes it does make you tired."
