A New Hobby (Open)

Over the summer, Aquila had developed a new hobby. Drawing. She absolutely adored it, which was rare for the very dull girl. Indeed, Aquila called herself dull. She was only ever happy when drawing or talking with her friends - or should she say, friend. A happy smile rested on her face as she made her way down to the frozen lake, which was her victim today. She wasn't all that brilliant at drawing, but her mother said she had potential and that was enough for her.

The chilly air made her shiver, and she watched as the grass crunched beneath her feet. Yes- crunched, for it was so cold that it had become partly frozen. Once she had reached the lake, Aquila took a seat on the semi-frozen glass and set up her gear. Momentarily, she was distracted by the sun revealing itself from behind the clouds, and her eyes widened as she looked at the lake.

It was as if the surface had been covered in millions of sparkling diamonds. They shimmered in the sunlight, rows of rainbows glimmering across the surface as they twinkled and sparkled. It was a magnificent sight, and Aquila had never before been so bewildered by somethings beauty. Quickly, she began to sketch the lake. Her eyes glanced upwards at the sky, and she smiled at the patch of blue also peeking through the clouds. She continued to sketch away, humming happily to herself.

Felix scraped his hand against the wall as he pulled himself to a stop. His eyes landed on his victim, Aquila, and he was over the moon at the fact that she looked bubbling with happiness. She held random items that he assumed were required to draw under her arm, and this made his smirk widen. She was the perfect target, for she had just given him many things to tease her about. He waited several minutes as she vanished from sight, out towards the lake, before he set off after her.

He shoved his hands in his pockets and began to whistle lightly as he made his way down to the brilliant lake, pausing a moment to take in its beauty. Even he, a cruel and heartless Risiko, could appreciate the sheer beauty of the lake. He knew that this would be the perfect sight for her to draw, and so he gave her a moment to begin before continuing down towards her, the grass making a horrible 'crunch' beneath his feet. He was a short distance away, and could hear her humming as she drew.

Felix surveyed the area, his eyes landing on a pebble, and deciding to be extra cruel in the way to announce his presence, he bent over and grabbed the pebble. He threw it up in the air, caught it, and repeated this movement a couple of times before taking aim at her leg. His eyes narrowed in concentration as he threw the pebble at her, smirking when it collided with her leg before closing the distance between them.

"Aquila, what a pleasant surprise."

Aquila looked back up at the lake as she had sketched the outline and was most pleased to see it still glinting as if it had diamonds across its surface. A smile was sprawled lazily across her features as she sketched the gently rippling surface, along with little diamonds. She reached into her pack of art supplies and began to colour the picture in with small, gentle strokes.

Her wrist began to ache, so she shook it around a bit and looked back to the surface. Her eyes trailed upwards at the dark, heavy rain clouds looming in the horizon, and she frowned. She had hoped that today would be a bright, sunny day - but that was rarely the case. With a sigh, she continued to colour in the grass at the edge of the lake. She twirled her wrist again, and just as she decided to take a break, she felt something hard hit her leg. There was a sharp pain, and she looked down to see a pebble, and a jagged cut in her leg. A snarl escaped her lips and instantly she had stood and whipped around.

"Engell! What are you doing here?" She hissed, looking around. Why, why did he have to seek her out? It was bad enough she saw him in the common room everyday, but now he was here to harass her. Thoughts of him pushing her into the lake and forcing her to near death by drowning flashed through her mind, but she didn't think he would stoop quite so low.

"Can't you leave me alone?"

Felix rolled his eyes at Aquila's hostility, and the venomous way in which she spoke to him. He ought to warn her that she would pay for that later, he wasn't about to let her get away with being nasty to him. He'd dealt with enough in his life, slaving away when the likes of her just got whatever they wanted for the asking. He shook his finger right up in her face and tutted in disapproval.

"Tut, tut, Quilly. There's no need to speak to me like that." He responded in a playfully frightening tone that he had been perfecting for years.

His eyes zoned in on the blood that trickled down her leg, and he let out a sound of glee as he looked back up into her eyes. He rolled his eyes when she inquired if he could leave her alone, and took a step forward. He grabbed her wrist, and much to his annoyance the red was gone. He shoved her onto the ground in annoyance and kicked her harshly on the hip.

"Did you get your precious little friend to fix that up for you? Filthy blood traitor!" He hissed.

Lucian had decided that after his lesson with the Doctor he needed to gain some element of masculinity back after carving runes in his swimming trunks and having his muscles felt up by a man.

Sighing lightly he hoped that the lake would actually be unfrozen now, and it wasn't, so sighing he flung on a tshirt and walked down to the shores, he thought he saw a familiar flash of blonde hair and wondered if it was Aquila, grinning he decided to play a trick and sneak up on her.

Creeping towards her, Lucian saw something he did not like at all, and he blinked a few times before grinning wickedly, so, this guy thought he could pick on his friend did he? And now that the Doctor had released most of the binding energy on his magic from the seal he had recieved, he was positively crackling with energy.

"How about, you let go of her, and pick on someone who's actually going to hit back yeah? And surely if you're so 'Pure Blood Rocks' your parents would have taught you some proper manners, you don't ever hit a girl."

Lucian drawled and hopped down to stand next to the boy.

"I don't believe we've met, Lucian Ciero, and yes. I did fix Aquila's wrist, you vermin, and I'll gladly fix her other wounds too, so come on, you're so hard fight me."

Staring quite calmly into the other boys eyes, Lucian at no point shouted, he was far too angry to shout, and he just stood there and stared at him, waiting for him to rise to the challenge of actually hitting him. His black eyes pulsing and sparking with his newly released magic.

Felix heard the sound of grass beneath someone's feet, and he looked up in surprise to see a second year boy with a fairly well muscled body walk over to him with an air of confidence. Felix gulped, but despite his better judgement he sneered back at this boy. How dare he insult his parents. His parents had taught him the hardships of life.

"Pssht. Yeah, you think I pick on her because she won't hit back? I pick on her cause she's the kind of girl who gets anything she wants just for the asking, and i've seen the hardships of life." Retorted Felix, spitting at the ground by Lucian's feet.

Felix stopped himself before he could step back from Lucian. It was an instinct that had been placed in the mind of all of man-kind, an animalistic instinct. Step down when the stronger approaches you. But, Felix was a fool and thought that he could easily defeat Lucian.

"No, I don't believe we have. Felix Engell," Felix then 'ahh'ed as Lucian continued. "Mhhm, so you're the one who dear Quilly told me about back when I gave her a sore wrist, hmm?" Felix rolled his eyes and wagged his finger at Aquila. "Tut, and I thought you were dating him or something. Clearly, he is out of your league. Maybe you could settle for a muggle?" Felix taunted.

He turned back to face Lucian, and took one step closer to the boy. "You think you could beat me in a fight, hey buddy?"

Lucian looked at the spit on the ground just before him and then very slowly looked back up at the boy in front of him, this wasn't a matter of bravado or anything, but this boy had just spat at him, and that, was something that you never, ever, did.

"Did you just...spit at me?" he said quietly, in barely controlled anger.

Smirking slightly Lucian felt his tattoo beginning to heat up and turn red, clearly drawing attention to it, and he thought about all the demon hunters in his other form he had managed to dispatch, and only cursed himself for not being able to tear out the boys heart and feed it to a muggle.

"You told him about me?" he asked Aquila "I'm flattered, you probably should have told him that I am going to beat him black and blue for deciding to hurt you, twice. I don't know what history had gone down here, but you're not, ever, hitting, hurting, taunting, bulllying in any way, my best friend again do you hear me?"

Grinning slightly he looked at Aquila again: "You want to date me huh? And you said my face was horrible, on...to...you." he smirked, poiting at her.

Lucian chuckled and took off his tshirt, he liked it, and didn;t want to get blood on it.

"Yes. You're a weak little firsty who had no idea who I am or what he's getting himself into, and besides, you're outnumbered sonny jim."

Felix laughed at Lucian's deadly tone, for the 1st year thought of himself as some sort of tough guy that could achieve anything. This foolishness would haunt him later in his life.

"Yeah, I did." He said in a 'what you gnna do about it?' tone.

Felix eyes were briefly drawn to the red tattoo, but he quickly looked back at his face. Fear flashed through him quickly, but he didn't recognize said feeling.

Felix didn't care for his tone, and instead of responding he flew his fist at Lucian's face.

Lucian was not going to calm down any time soon and instead he was rather getting more angry about this boy in front of him, if only he knew what he was, he was tempted to tell him, but Aquila was here, and he didn't want her to know.

As soon as the boy started to move to hit him Lucian tensed, his fist flung at him, and although Lucian hadn't expected him to actually move to hit him, he managed to recover quickly.

Moving out of the way of the fist, Lucian stuck a hand out to catch it, and brought his other fist around in a fast punch to the boys face, hoping to catch him off guard.

"That wasn't very nice." he said, in a drawling voice.

To say that Felix had been bewildered by Lucian's quick move was an understatement. Never had he missed a punch, but with relative ease it seemed that Lucian dodged his fist before grabbing it. Fear pricked Felix, but the feeling was un-known to him. His lip curled as Lucian's own fist collided with his face, and he stumbled backwards.

He muttered a few choice expletives, his hand rubbing the side of his jaw where he knew it was most likely damaged, or he had lost a tooth. This was of no problem to him, he had been in many a fight and had always had the head on approach. He walked straight back up to Lucian, but about half a metre away he lunged at Lucian and tackled him to the ground.

He threw punches this way and that, not really sure whether he was colliding with skin or earth.

Lucian grinned as his fist connected with Felix's face and he was quite surprised himself, this guy seemed to confident and his ego so high that he was worried that nothing was actually going to be able to touch him.

Hearing that boy swear was something that admittidly Lucian had a guilty pleasure in hearing, it meant that he was doing a good job in showing him how he should never pick on any friend of his ever again. Especially a girl.

Suddenly he was on the ground and he cursed slightly, putting his arms up in front of his face to protect it from being beat up too bad and he tried to manouver his legs to knee Felix where the sun don't shine, or at least get him off of him.

He got hit by various punches and grunted slightly, taking most of the damage to his arms.

Aquila clutched her hip as Felix pushed her to the ground and kicked it. She whimpered as she gnawed on her lip and blinked back tears, but a few escaped and trickled down her face. She hated how weak she was when it came to a non-magical fight, it made her feel small and pathetic.

Her embarrassment was made worse as Lucian appeared, but she was also relieved. Her silent pleading for Lucian to show up last time had not worked, but at least this time it seemed that the universe was making up for that. She did not feel like being beaten to a pulp.

A small smile flashed across Aquila's face as he called her his best friend. It felt nice, she finally had a best friend. The smile vanished and was replaced with a scowl and she made a sound of protest and pushed herself into a sitting position, ignoring the pain in her hip.

"I most certainly do not want to date you!"

Aquila's tone was full of mock- annoyance as she cracked a smile, but it vanished and her eyes widened as Felix and Lucian swapped insults, before a fight broke out. She watched with wide eyes as Lucian easily over-powered Felix, until said boy lunged at him and managed to punch him a few times. Her eyes narrowed in concentration as a warm, fuzzy feeling spread through her body and she used her minds hand to morph the earth up between the two boys and create a protective barrier over Lucian.

She had stood up during this process, and her eyes were blazing with anger as she cracked the ice of the lake and used the water to force Felix away from Lucian and send him flying backwards. She lowered her hand controlling the earth and watched as it moved back into its original position and the water returned to the lake. Her eyes widened as she realised what she had done, and she crumpled from her lack of energy.

"Oops."

Lucian was happily taking punches to his forearms when he suddenly felt them stop, wondering where the next attack would be coming from he lowered his arms from covering his face and saw a rather large mound of earth almost covering him.

Gasping slightly he rolled out of the way, thinking it was going to crush him, and then he saw that he was in fact being protected by the earth not crushed, unable to stop a small laugh as Felix was sent flying Lucian looked at Aquila and was going to point it out to her.

Then he realised that it must be her doing this magic.

As soon as she collapsed Lucian decided to abandon his fight however much he didn't want to, and walked swiftly over to Aquila, turning her on her side and opening her mouth.

"Right, let's get you healed. Felix, we'll fight another time, right now I have to fix up Aquila."

Felix was most pleased that he had managed to catch Lucian off guard, and even more so when his punches actually collided with Lucian's arms a couple of times. He was doing so well, and he mentally congratulated himself. He could feel Lucian beginning to resist, and he began to fight hardened when suddenly the ground seemed to spring up in-between them and form a protective layer over Lucian.

Felix toppled backwards off of the earth and hit his head with a loud 'Ow!' and a few swear words. He rubbed at his head, but his eyes widened in bewilderment when the lake cracked open and water sent him flying backwards onto the ground. He laid there completely still for a while, before he groaned in pain and sat up, rubbing his head. He saw Aquila command the earth and water to move back to their original positions and gasped.

Felix pushed himself up as Aquila collapsed and had half a mind to beat her up while she was weak. He couldn't believe the nerve of her, humiliating her like that. However, he was halted when Lucian crouched down beside Aquila.

"I look forward to it," Felix responded to Lucian, cracking his knuckles menacingly before jabbing a finger in Aquila's direction. "And you, i'll deal with you later." He snarled, before turning and beginning to make his way up to the castle.

Lucian couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the knuckle cracking thing, what was that supposed to frighten him or something? Well it didn't, as soon as he turned to leave he rolled his eyes, this guy really was something else, and when this curse seal was finally broken, he would show him just what he could do.

Turning his attention to Aquila he thought that she was most likely suffering from some sort of exhaustion and stroked back a few strands of hair from her face, debating picking her up.

"He's gone now Aquila, I don't know if you can hear me or if I'm just being an idiot and talking to nothing...but there we go..."

Jadzia was walking across the grounds, coming from Die Versteckt Dorf when she heard students yelling. Her eyes narrowed in suspicion as she rounded the corner in time to see one of the first years stalking back towards the school. Drawing closer to the remaining two, Jadzia recognized Lucian Ciero from her defense class. He was crouched over an unconscious student.

"Mr. Ciero," Jadzia called out, hurrying over. Her instinct told her that the young man wasn't at fault, although it was obvious that there had been a fight, and magic had been involved. Lucian had always been polite and well-behaved in class. He didn't come across as an antagonist.

"What's happened here?" Jadzia asked, her eyes narrowed in concern as she waved her wand over the unconscious girl, casting a basic diagnostic charm.

As soon as Lucian heard a voice, he hoped that it wasn't a Professor otherwise he would get in so much trouble for fighting, but when he turned and saw it was Professor Krulle, he relaxed a little.

Professor Krulle was a goof Professor, she would understand.

"Professor Krulle!" he said, quite glad in fact that she was here because he himself had no idea what to do with Aquila now that she was unconscious, it's always where he fell down.

"I was on my way back from a meeting with the Highmaster, I saw Aquila and came to say hello, and first year Felix Engell was hurting her, he caused that wound on her leg. I thought it best to intervene, we started to fight, Aquila used some sort of magic and now she's K.O."

Jadzia didn't approve fighting amongst the students but she would have to wait to find out the entire story, and track down the other member of this altercation. Her first priority was to get the collapsed girl to the infirmary.

"We will discuss this more in my office, Mr. Ciero, after we get this one to the infirmary. Please run ahead and notify either Lehrer Dozvettes or Nurse Mai that I'm on my way. One of them should be on duty."

Jadzia stood from her crouched position over the student and waved her wand, conjuring a stretcher under the girl. With another wave, the stretcher lifted off the ground and they started towards the school.

Lucian nodded his head and ran off to the infirmary to tell the needed people that there was going to be a new patent coming into the ward, hopefully Aquila would be okay although it could be that she had spent her magical core and he hoped that wasn't the case.

Hoping that the discussion would not lead to him having a detention Lucian couldn't bring himself to regret what he did, he had helped his friend who was in need of it, and he had managed to send the loser who had done it packing, even if he didnt do it in a correct way for school.

Wondering when he should head to Professor Krulles office, Lucian frowned lightly and decided to just wait in the hospital wing.
