Meeting Someone New (Anne and Dimiri)

Anne walked into her once mother's shop. She waved but didn't talk to her. As much as she missed her, she had left to protect her. She began to look at all of the things at this store. She picked up a few things to paint with. Anne had decided that she needed something to get out her anger and saddness with. Painting was the best option, that she had thought of.

She looked at all the shop. She picked up a few more things. She could always use a hobby. Flying had loss its flair after what happened with Damien. Being alone had its disadvntages. She wondered if she would be good at art when she heard the bell over the door ring. She looked over her shoulder. Knowing she could never be too careful. Seeing that it wasn't antone she needed to worry about she turned back to the skech pad she was looking at.

What exactly was he doing back in this shop again? Oh that's right. After meeting Vero here and buying all his stuff, he had returned home and given Luna just what she wanted. Mini paints. However, his sister wanted more now because she was having so much fun with the stuff. So he figured he could buy her tons of paints, while buying himself some more sketching material. He walked over to grab a basket, tripping over something that had fallen on the floor.

"Scheiße habe ich musst aufpassen das Zeug," he muttered softly, looking around to make sure no one had heard him. He bent down to pick up whatever he had tripped over and placed it back on the shelf so no one else tripped over it. Smiling to himself, he nodded to the girl who was looking at a sketchpad. "I recommend that one. It's got some good paper to draw on since that's the kind I usually buy for myself."

Anne looked up after hearing someone say something in german. She mind jumped to Hugo. She shivered. She prayed that he wasn't here. She heard him say something in english and relaxed seeing that it wasn't his voice.

"Thanks" she said smiling then added in a wisper. "be careful, speaking german here. We are at war." She said then looked up.

She looked over at her once mother than thought, thought about everything. She wondered if he went to Dirmstrang.

"Möchten Sie Durmstrang gehen?" She asked in a whisper. wondering if he knew Hugo. She looked at the sketch pad in her had and wondered if she would get it. She didn't trust germans given what one had done to her. She looked at her expossed arm and stiffened, hiding it from his view.

Damn! I was hoping she didn't hear me. Dimitri cursed inwardly, shaking his head. He just couldn't keep his trap shut when it came to his language. After mentally beating himself up, he sighed. "Sorry about that," he murmured. "Normally I don't speak German when I'm in England, but when things like that happen...I can't help it. Sorry if I happened to frighten you in any way."

He barely noticed her moving her arm from his view. He was more focused on filling the basket he had with the paints that Luna enjoyed so much. "Yes, I go to Durmstrang," he finally said, smiling over at the girl. "I'm a first year in Verstand. Am I correct in assuming that you go to Hogwarts then?"

Anne smiled slightly as he appoligized for speaking his own langage. It didn't bother her at all.

"Don't worry about it, I just had a bad expreance with a German boy." She said with a frown on her face. She really didn't want to think about Hugo. not now anyway.

"Yes I go to Hogwarts, I'm in Gryffindor. I'm Anne what's your name?" She said holding out her hand and once again groaning inwardly haveing held out the hand that wasn't full. The arm with the 'Mudblood'scar on it. she knew it was rud e to take it back now.

"Sorry," she said blushing and switching everything to her other hand then holding out the non cared arm.

Dimitrius paid it no mind to how she switched hands. He just figured that the one she held out second was her dominant hand. He smiled and took her hand, gripping it firmly and shaking it. "A Gryffindor eh? House for the brave right? Or was that Ravenclaw?" He murmured, letting go of her hand. "Sorry, I'm not too well versed when it comes to Hogwarts, so you'll have to forgive me. Oh, my name is Dimitrius. I usually go by Dimitri. It's nice to meet you Anne."

He turned back to the sketchpads and picked one up before turning to the girl again. "I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience with a German boy. Like myself was he?" He asked, flipping through the pages before backtracking. "Well, I'm not bad at all so I won't hurt you, promise. I was just asking if he was perhaps my age or even older than that was all. Sorry!"

Anne was glad he didn't seem to notice her scar and sighed in relife. She really didn't want to go through the whole explaining what happened. It was hard to go through again and again.

"Yep Gryffindor is the house of bravery, Ravenclaw is the house of intellagance." She said. She knew nothing about durmstrang. so she just shruged at the comment about not knowing much.

"I'll teach you sometime." She said wanting to see him again. She blushed at her nerve. Damn you redhead genes she cursed inwarly.

"Ya he was a bit like you. He's your age, and i think he's in your house." She said thinking. She remebered the conversation she had seen between him and one of his teachers.

"Well I don't think you have it in you to hurt me like he did. That's a complemet." She said, she didn't think anyone had it in them to hurt her like he did.

He smiled at her. He was right when it came to Gryffindor, but bugger to the rest of it. He didn't even know what a barking Hufflepuff was. Did anyone really? "Teach me about Hogwarts and what not? Sounds fantastic. I'd actually love to know about Hogwarts. The houses, library, classes, stuff like that. I think we might have different classes at Durmstrang, but I've never been able to compare." He explained, placing a few more pencils in the basket he had with him.

Dimitri wracked his brain, trying to come up with names for boys in his house. "I think the only ones I can name off the top of my head are Hugo and Ulrich. I'm not sure about any others, but I only know them in passing." He answered, smiling at her. "Sorry if I'm not much help when it comes down to it. I focus on school mainly, but I get to know people in classes. And I'll accept that as a compliment. I wouldn't be able to hurt anyone, I don't think." He laughed quietly and turned back to thumbing through a sketchpad.

Anne smiled and a few butterflies sprag up in her stomch, but she ignored them. "Sure I'd love to but it maight take awhle and I don't think it would be smart to stand here in a store and talk about. So maybe we can go for a butterbeer after." She sugested.

A pain went through her body at the mention of the name Hugo. It felt like she had been cursed again. She let a cry of pain. She knew it was a flash of the time in the shack. So a boy named Hugo had done this to her. She knew enough to find him. She knew she wouldn't, though.

"Hugo thats his name," she growled, rage pusleing through her. Hugo had nearly killed Hugo had carved the word forever in her arm. "Hugo was the boy that hurt me." She said now deathly calm.

Anne looked up and relized that she probally scared him "Sorry, it's just, he nearly killed me." She sighed tying to settle herself.

Dimitri jumped when he heard her cry out in some sort of pain. "Hugo did it to you?" He murmured quietly. "I don't wanna know how or why, and I certainly won't be able to stop him myself. I think he's a Pureblood, and while I'm one as well, he's the bad kind. If I start mixing up with him, you can be certain that he'll come after me or my little sister. What I can tell you is this: If he happens to try to come after you again, find some way to get a hold of me. I think he's in my year, and in my house..."

He trailed off, wondering how to word this correctly. "If you manage to get a hold of me, and I appear, I will claim you as my own. I can only assume that you are a half-blood or even a Muggleborn, but my family's blood purity is stronger than most. If I claim you as my Muggleborn or half-blood, I think he might back off. Course, I might end up with a few hexes on me. Nothing I can't handle." He said, smiling cheekily.

He had seen this type of thing before, with his parents. They protected their own Muggleborn friends from other Pureblood families when Dimitri was younger, and now, it was time for him to step into the Skaia shoes. There was a war going on, and even if he had friends on the enemy side, he would protect them no matter the cost. "And a butterbeer sounds great," he finally said, nodding. "I haven't had one in quite a while."

Anne nooded glad thst he cared enought to try and protect her. It ment a lot her her. "Thanks." She said. I'll know if he wants to come after. I'll see it coming. If he goes after you or you're family. I'll see that coming and I'll warn you." She said thinking about how evil Hugo was.

She shuffled at the mention of he blood statis, at least he didn't say mudblood. "Ya I'm muggleborn. born and branded." She said with a sigh. Hugo had brandered her forever a mudblood.

Anne was thinking that he would go to such lengths to protect her a stranger. It ment so much to her. She smiled and hugged him, not caring what anyone thought. "Thank you so much Dimiri" She said quickly letting go of him, blushing again.

She was happy that he took her up on the offer for butterbeer. She smiled and walked over to the counter and payed for everything she bought. "Ok lets go, my treat." She said.

He called it his hero complex. Though, he guessed he wasn't surprised about his wanting to take care of everyone. He did have a little sister he looked after most of the time. Dimitri blinked and stood frozen when she gave him a hug. He didn't really expect it, but before he could do anything she moved back again. "You'll see it coming?" He murmured questioningly, shaking his head. It was probably one of those he doesn't need to know things.

He followed her and paid for his materials as well. Turning to her, he smiled and nodded. "Well you don't have to pay for all of it," he insisted. "After all, I can sure pay for my own drinks. Anyway, if you would lead the way? I don't know my way around, as you can probably have guessed."

Anne smiled and walked out of the store waving to Lotus again. She did miss her. She led the way down the high street to the tree broomsticks. ANd led him inside. "Find us a seat." She said as she moved to the counter.

"Two butterbeers please." She asked the barmaid. She paid for their drinks and went to find Dimiri. She smiled at him and sat down next to him, handing him his butterbeer. "You can get the next round." She told him.

Anne took a sip of her drink and was warmed up. "So, what do you want to know about Hogwarts?" She asked in a low voice.

He took the butterbeer with a smile and wrapped both his hands around it. He really hadn't had one in so long, and he knew that Luna would be dying to get one too. He made sure to entertain the thought that when he was done talking and hanging out with Anne, he would get another butterbeer to go and take it back home. He was sure Luna would be really pleased.

"Anything you can tell me," he answered quietly, and bluntly. He was serious as well. He wanted to know how life was for all the kids that went to Hogwarts. He could compare it to life at Durmstrang after all. "Let's start with the houses. Anything that you know about them would be a lot of help to me."

Anne smiled, "Well there is four houses, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. The houses are named after the four founders of the school. The founders put enchantments on a hat, and this hat sorts us, by the traits that the founder valued above the rest. Gryffindors, for their bravery, and nerve. Ravenclaws for their intellagence and witt. Hufflepuffs for their loyaty and value of fair play. Slytherin's for their ambition and cunning."

"Slytherin was cool, he built a hidden chamber. Plety of things have happened at hogwarts, over the years. Each house has a ghost. Nearly headless Nick is Gryffindors. I don't know much about the others."

Anne took a sip of her butterbeer. "What else do you want to knoe?" She asked

Dimitri tapped the bottle with his fingers, absorbing the information that Anne had given him. So if he had to choose a house to belong to, if he went to Hogwarts that was, then he would most likely be in...Ravenclaw? His hero complex didn't make him brave by any means, and Slytherin sort of reminded him too much of where a dark wizard would belong. He was surely loyal, but somehow he felt more drawn to Ravenclaw.

He placed the butterbeer up to his lips and drank slowly from it before putting it down again. He scratched his eyebrow and thought a bit. Anything else he wanted to know? "How about teachers? What classes you happen to have?" He asked, giving her a small smile.

Anne smiled as she took another sip of butterbeer. She thought about her classes. She had taken way to many.

"Well I'm in History of Magic, Charms, Transfiguration, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Dueling, Occlumency, Potions, Flying, Herbolgy, Care of Magical Creatures, Infiltration, Astronomy, Divination, and Muggle studdies. Or every class Hogwarts offers. All the proffesors are cool, as long as you stay on their good side. My favorite would be Professor Slytherin who teaches Astronomy, and Divination. Divination is my favorite subject, and also my best." She said with a slight smirk. She was amazing at it, the adavtage of being a seer.

"What abouit you?" Anne asked Dimitri.

"Too many classes to count," he finally murmured after taking another drink of his butterbeer. "I'm only in a few so I don't get bogged down when exams time comes around. I'll end up taking different classes each year anyway so I have a good variety. I think the classes I'm in are Potions, Herbology, World History, and Psychology. I have a feeling that our History and Psychology courses aren't offered at Hogwarts, no?"

He tapped his fingers on the table idly as he thought of what to ask her. "Got any secret hiding places among the castle?" He finally asked. "I think I remember reading something somewhere that Hogwarts did indeed have some secret passageways so people could go to and from different areas."

Anne smiled. Yes she had taken too many classes. But she would manage. Somehow. Anne nodded at his class choices. They seemed good. At least he didn't take dark arts. She had heard Durmstrang offered it. She sivered at the thought of Hugo getting thoses lessons. That was scary. "well, If i't magical history we do. But no we don't have Psychology. "

Anne thought for a moment before answering. "Yes there are. I've found a few. But the best Part abiuyt Hogwarts is the Roomo of Requirements. Its a room that gives you what you need. Exept for food of corse." she smiled thinking about that room.

"Tell me about Durmstrang." She told him. Knowing the enemy was important.

"I think it's more or less World History," he remarked, tapping his chin. "I mean, Magic History is one thing. Wouldn't it tell mainly about Hogwarts and the founders? I think the World History we have tells about all the other countries and it might not even mention magic. I can't say for sure, since I haven't really gotten into it so much yet."

Pulling out one of his sketchpads and flipping through it, he showed Anne a picture. "Well, there's the Ship we all travel on. I suppose Durmstrang is much like Hogwarts. Big foreboding castle, and what not. I can't say we have any passageways yet since I have yet to find any, but it doesn't matter I guess. We have four houses as well. Mühe, Risiko, Geschick, and Verstand. The last one is my house."

He paused to take another drink before he continued. "Mühe is the House of Pain which makes sense I guess since it was founded by a torture master. Risiko is the House of Fear, by the only female founder in the history of our school. Verstand is the House of Intellect. Our founder was a philosopher. The last one, Geschick, is the House of Cunning. Never knew the founder though. Always signed things 'Unknown' so he was cunning as well, I guess."

Anne nodded in understanding. She thought it was neat. She really could be happy there. She would take less classes. She looked at Dimirti, and smiled. "Cool." She said simply.

Anne looked at the sketch and noted that he was a great artist. She knew she would never be that good. Not with a pencil anyway. She looked at the ship and smiled. "We get to school by train." She told him.

"You really are a great artist. You could give me lessons." She joked. She halfed hoped he would.

"well Hugo's in the wrong house then." She mumbled. "You seem to be in the best house."She told him.

Dimitri pulled his sketchpad back and tucked it in the bag at his side. It was just an impulse to show her what the ship looked like, and it wasn't like any of his other better drawings. He was very self-conscious about them, no matter what they were. He coughed softly and took another drink of his butterbeer. "I could try to give you lessons I guess," he finally murmured. "And I've heard about the fabled Hogwarts train. I would love to see it for myself one day. To draw it, more or less."

It helped that Dimitri had a near photographic memory when it came to drawing things. He had to get all the details right, or he scrapped the paper and started all over again. It was an odd quirk of his that had developed over the years. And he really would pay to see that train. He could just imagine it, in all it's red and gold glory. His father and mother had told him all about Hogwarts and his own school before he went.

"You think he belongs in Mühe." It wasn't a question, but more of a statement. Dimitri wasn't one to judge, but if this boy had indeed done this stuff to Anne, well, he couldn't be good news. Finally, he smiled a little bit. "Yes, I think I ended up in the best house. I might not be too smart, but I'm smart enough to know when someone is bad news."
