Lolly stared up at the blue sky, her hands clasped over her belly as she lay in the sand. The cool, fresh river water lapped somewhere near her toes. She didn't feel like swimming today; just being very lazy and thinking. Her brain buzzed with an emptiness she hadn't felt for a long time, seeing as she was constantly surrounded by people with thoughts and even subconscious waves.

It was nice. Lovely and calm. Lolly decided she should come here more often just as she let her eyes flutter closed. She was so tired nowadays, but she didn't mind. It was worth it. She drifted to sleep on the banks of the Sailor's End, basking in the warmth of the light and the cooling breeze, like she was some place tropical.

Ashby hummed to himself, his eyes closed as he walked clumsily, not exactly knowing where he was going. He liked to just let nature take him where it wanted. It often got him some interesting places, he couldn't deny that. Especially when he indulged himself on a fair bit of wine which he had this very day. He stumbled a bit, very far hazed, even though it was mid day.

His hoof sunk in a bit and he tripped. He opened his eye and looked around blearily. A...beach? Eh, he may have hated the sand and the saltyness of the water, but the heat of the sun and the chill of the water together he did find pleasant. He took another swig from the flask that was tied to around his waist. He capped it and let it go as he walked forward with some difficulty, yawning. Maybe a nice nap in the sun would make the day better.

Lolly's eyes fluttered open and she yawned, stretching. She let her body stretch out like a cat's and placed her arms behind her head. It was a really lovely day today, even if it was beside water. She wondered if she'd ever go swimming again. Lolly doubted it.

When her head had cleared enough, she noticed that she wasn't empty anymore. There was a faint presence somewhere nearby. They didn't seem to be very ... sober. She blinked a bit in confusion, sitting up. Lolly glanced around but couldn't see anyone. She shrugged it off; they must be somewhere in the trees.

Ashby walked out into the open, lifting his legs higher then what was comfortable because his hoofs kept sinking into the sand. He cursed as he stumbled forward, a good dozen or so yards away from what seemed to him to be a blurred log in the sand.

He yawned loudly, stretching his arms up above his head, quickly lowering them as he nearly lost his balance. As he came closer to the water, the wet sank felt weird to him. He stared down at his feet curiously. How odd, he thought. As the wet sand clumped to his hooves he lifted one up and tried to shake it off. He lowered that hoof and raised the other carefully trying to shake that one off. He continued with that, trying to keep his balance all the while.

Lolly happened to glance over in time to see someone enter the water. They didn't look like just anybody, though. Satyr, maybe? She couldn't be sure, but normally being half a goat gave it away. He seemed to be dancing. But... not very well. Her face scrunched up as she wondered what in Artemis's name he was doing.

She watched a little longer as he continuously lifted up one foot after the other, shaking them. What a weirdo! she thought. In her mind, the sober-less-ness grew stronger as she walked closer to him. Maybe he was slightly tipsy.

"Excuse me," Lolly called when she was a bit closer. "What are you doing?"

Ashby groaned and scratched his beard with the realization that what he was doing wasn't helping anything except to make the dug out area around his feet larger. He yawned and closed his eyes, tilting his head back as he let the sun beam down on him pleasantly.

He really wanted to just lay back and take a nap or something, but the idea of getting sand all stuck up in his fur didn't sound pleasant in the slightest. Frustrated with the feeling between the toes of his hooves he grunted and shook his feet a few more times. He then couldn't help but open his eyes and look over when a sweet smell drifted over and a light voice asked, "Excuse me, what are you doing?"

His brows relaxed and he gave a sort of lopsided smile unsuited to his face. "Oh, 'nd what'do we 'ave here?" He asked, his words slightly slurred, as he turned towards her, looking her up and down. He didn't know his day could get any better, but obviously it had!

Lolly watched curiously as the satyr - she'd confirmed that he was that - stopped moving and a wave of frustration simmered over her. She was startled when he turned to her after her question, for he was wearing what she'd always imagined to be on that of an ... older man ... that she'd once seen in a bar.

The satyr reeked of wine now that she was up close, but she ignored it. She noted that his words were slurred... her mother had always said that a drunk satyr was never a good thing. She swallowed lightly, trying to be polite. "Uh. Um, I- I'm Lolly," she introduced herself warily.

While he stood there, Ashby was a bit wobbly, struggling with the wet sand clumped between his hooves. He bit his lip, running his hand over his beard as he nodded. "Mm, Lolly, tha's a nice name ya got." he murmured lowly.

He leaned his head down a bit more to her level, the wine more strongly wafting from his breath. He brought his hand to her shoulder " An' what're ya out 'ere fer girlie?" he asked.

Lolly smiled, if a bit weakly. This satyr was starting to scare her a bit. "U-um, thank you?" she said, getting ready to leave. She knew what her mother had told her about Satyrs, and she knew that he probably would find her again if she left.

Lolly's head jolted back when he leaned in closer and the smell of alcohol was everywhere. She jumped as he put his hand on her shoulder. She glanced at it with wide eyes, then back to him. "I was just- I was going to- I don't even- Are you drunk?"

Ashby gave a low chuckle, brushing the hair back from her shoulder. "Girlie, haven't ya ever heard 'f a Satyr before? 'm sure ya have oth'r wise ya'd not me 'proachin' me with legs like a lamb."

He laughed lowly again and leaned back up, looking around, humming to himself before wobbling a bit and speaking. "What'dya think us be doin' in our spare time?" he glanced down to his side, patting his little jar and grinning.

He reached for her hand but missed it. "Ya should come 'long, girlie..."

Ashby was making little sense. Lolly could only just make out what he was trying to say. "I do know what a satyr is, obviously, since I'm a Nymph. And you obviously know what I am, otherwise you wouldn't be flirting with me like so." She shivered as he brushed her hair back off her shoulder. She should run while she had the chance, this man was starting to scare her...

Lolly looked him over. He seemed to not have had a wash in ages. "Uh, maybe you could keep up with hygiene, take a bath one day? Instead of getting drunk of your arse?" She really thought Ashby should take a bath, she could smell him now.

She snatched her hand away when he went to grab for it. "Actually, I think I'll be heading back now. I have things to do." Lolly turned on her heel and started walking as quickly away as she possibly could.
