Forgotten Memories

[Sam Hawthorn]

Sam was asleep in her bedroom, sleeping soundly when she heard a crash. Sam bolted up and looked around she saw smoke come from underneath her door she got up and opened her bedroom door she looked out and saw her home, on fire.

Sam quickly ran out of her room and ran into the living room where she saw her father on the floor she ran to him, she shook him but he didn't move Sam checked to see if he was breatheing but he wasn't, Sam started to cry when a piece of wood that was on fire fell from the roof and landed on her. Sam quickly pushed the wood off of her and she searched for her mother, Sam started screaming and yelling for her mother when she saw her on the ground in front of the stairs Sam ran too her and she was also not breatheing. Sam began to cry harder, Sam wanted to stay but she knew her parents would want her to get out of the house. Sam stood up shaking like a leaf and ran toward the front door she turned for a second toward a window when the window blew out and glass went everywhere, Sam screamed in agony as glass cut her face she fell to her knees and began to cry harder but she covered her face and she went through the blown out window she jumped on the window seal and she took one last look at her burning house and she jumped out of the window, she made it to the front yard and passed out in front of her house.
