Lolita smiled softly, the weather was cool, cloudy for the summer so many people had decided to go inside and watch a film or something, but not her, it was the prime time to come and read in the historical setting of the ampitheater...especially when you were reading about the subject.

Sitting at the bottom of the cold steps Lolita smoothed out her tights and crossed her legs while she opened the book and began to read about the Roman Gods, an area that had always fascinated her, almost as much as Greek Gods.

Lolita sighed happily and stuck a lolly in her mouth while she began to read, hoping for a moment of peace before term began.

Cobalt blinked a little bit as he reappeared again, this time standing in the centre of a roman ampitheatre. Not exactly where he'd liked to have ended up but to be honest he was a bit busy dodging spells and bullets to really be picky about a destination. Looking around, Cobalt spotted a woman sitting at the bottom of the seating area for the ampitheatre. Deciding that now was the best time to see if he was actually in Britain, Cobalt walked up to her and waved a little,

"Hallo!" he greeted her brightly in german, one hand holding his wand behind his back, "Sprechen Sie Englisch?"

Lolita gasped and she looked at the man who had appeared, she glared at him, interrupting her silence that she had decided to stay out in the cold to get, and partly because he was speaking German. Lolita didn't get on well with Germans ever since they had tried to occupy France once more.

"Of course I speak English. You are in England."

She frowned and stood up, slamming her book cover shut and she walked over to the man, looking at him intently. He didn't seem like a spy. But then again, they weren't supposed to were they, they wouldnt be good spies if they did.

"Are you...from Germany or something?" she asked cooly.

Cobalt, despite the woman's rather natural response of detachment, sighed happily when she told him that he was in England. Despite being Irish, Cobalt loved knowing his was back in England. Mainly because it meant that he was back from his job safely and could remain a father,

"Thank the bloody lord." he said in relief, his obviously irish accent leaking into his speech a little, "I've bee' in bleedin' Germany fer te better par' of two months... two months!"

He smiled lightly at her and held out his hand, not noticing that his right hand, the one he'd offered to her was still covered in the bloody field bandage he'd needed while on one of his raids,

"Sorry for giving you such a scare there." he apologised with a grin, his accent becoming less broad, "I'm Cobalt Smith. I'm the professor of Infiltration at Hogwarts."

Lolita was startled by the smile on his face and she took a small step back as he started to speak in that Irish accent, but, was that simply put on? Or was he really Irish? Theravada still a large element of mistrust that was clouding Lolita's mind.

"And why would that be if you so obviously dislike being there? Why wouldn't you just leave?"

With that she moved back to go to sit on the stone, but then her eyes flashed as she saw the mans hand, and the fact he said that he was a professor, in Hogwarts, did not fill her with the confidence that she should have been.

"Lolita Bradshaw. Hogwarts librarian. Excuse me if I don't shake your hand, it's somewhat stained." Lolita grimaced and tilted her head away

Seeing that the woman was still distrustful of him, Cobalt shrugged a little. It was her perogative to believe him at his word or not. Reaching into his pocket, after stealthily putting his wand away, Cobalt took out his papers, the unforgable documents that told the world that he was under the employment of the British ministry,

"Because it's my job." he replied simply, taking his papers back, "I don't like making war with another country because it means I have to be in another country. And other countries smell weird."

At this, Cobalt sniffed the air, smelt the familiar scents of Britain and relaxed a little bit more. Glancing down at his hand he noticed the bandages,

"Ah... sorry about that." he scratched the back of his head awkwardly, "Nice to meet you Lolita. I don't suppose you believe I'm not german yet do you? Hell... ask me a question about hogwarts or something if you'd like. Something only someone who's been there would know."

Lolita looked at the papers that the man produced and she smiled softly, she knew that the Ministry seal couldn't be forged, none of them could, so she found herself relaxing a bit and she sighed softly beginning to feel herself again.

"They smell weird? What does France smell like?"

She asked politely, taking a seat on the stone and looking up at Cobalt as he stood in front of her, she patted the rock next to her and she waited for him to sit down next to her, she wanted to make up for her rudeness.

"I am sorry, but, I don't really enjoy the company of German people, and you could have been a spy! Just like James Bond."

Lolita smiled and she shook her head and she hugged her arms around her body.

"I believe you, nobody could forge those documents, but here's a question anyway, what book is referenced under HXG-324-12-890 in the Hogwarts Library?"

Cobalt took the papers back gratefully, thankful that Lolita seemed to believe him now. Well... she did if her body language was anything to go by. And in Cobalt's experience only really experienced spies could do that,

"France?" he paused and contemplated the question, "Mmm... in the areas I've been to? Poppies. They don't smell much to most people but to me... well lets just say they make their point."

Taking the offer at face value, something he was advised not to do as a commando, Cobalt sat down on the stone beside Lolita with a small smile,

"I'm not German. But I'm afraid I'm not a spy." he reached into his pocket and pulled out a packet of cigarettes and a lighter, "Nothing quite so glamourous. I'm part of the military effort. I'm a commando. Hit and run attacks. That sort of thing."

Cobalt blinked a few times before shrugging,

"I went there as a student and as a professor..." he chuckled a little, "I don't think I ever really went into the library."

Lolita smiled, at least it wasn't something nasty like sewage or something but it was still rather strange since poppies were only really found in one area of France but maybe Cobalt had only been to that part so that would make sense.

"Well, that's a nice smell isn't it? I'm glad that my homeland smells like that, it's rather symbolic I suppose also."

Leaning her body back to rear her elbows on the step behind her Lolita grinned and looked up at the sky, what would her parents think of her? Talking to a British commander, and him telling her openly he killed people for money.

"It certainly sounds interesting, but, I think I would rather stick to my quiet little library it's so much nicer, and safer in there, only thing you're in danger of getting is a paper cut."

Lolita giggled softly and she sat back up, shaking her head, looking dissappointed:

"You should have, it's a beautiful collection."

Cobalt smiled a little. The smell of poppies was something that he had mixed feelings about. As a man who had lived much longer than his alotted time, Cobalt had been through three majors wars in the French countryside. The smell of poppies still got to him through,

"France... the country that everyone looks down on." he smiled faintly, "But the country that survives everything."

Cobalt, being a straight man, gave Lolita's body a once over as she leant back, displaying her body prominently to him. He chuckled a little bit before grinning,

"Well it's not the occupation for everyone." he admitted with a small laugh, "But it pays the bills. It's something I've, unfortunately, always been good at."

He rolled his eyes playfully,

"Yeah well as a student I only ever went to the charms section."

Lolita looked up sharply at Cobalt, she hadn't been aware that people in other countries thought of France in this manner, it made her both enraged, and feel a bit silly for the blind faith she had put in her country and her leaders.

"We do, survive quite a lot..." she smiled softly

As Cobalt sat beside her Lolita couldn't help but bite her lip, he was rugged, that much was clear, but there was something mysterious about him, something she wanted to find out just like the ending of a story...

"Why didn't you get better at something else?" Lolita asked with a confused expression that was often said made her look like a lost puppy

Lolita didn't quite understand why you would do something if you hated it? Maybe that's what came from being the product of an affluent family where you didn't have to work a day in your life and still had twice the money others did.

"For shame! For shame Mr. Smith!" she gasped, putting her hand on her heart "You however don't strike me as the 'reading type' so im not that surprised."

He saw that his initial comment had made her quite angry but to be fair it was the un-sugar coated truth. A lot of people looked down on France for being invaded successfully by the germans three times in a row. He smiled,

"Everything the world throws at you." he agreed quietly, "A feat not many other countries can boast. If any to be honest."

He saw that she was either intrigued or disturbed by him. Of course it could be both. Or neither. He really hated how those two emotions looked alike in body language,

"Well..." he paused for a few seconds before chuckling, "I guess I'm just set in my ways. I have other skills but none of them really scream 'legitimate'."
He chuckled at her 'for shame!' bit and rolled his eyes playfully again. He pouted at her,

"Hey...!" he pouted more, "I like reading... just has to be a good book."
