Lesson One - Second Years Empty Lesson One - Second Years

Post by Natasha Willow Tue Apr 17, 2012 11:05 am

Natasha was excited for this class. She was happy to find a herd of winged horses that lived in the area that were used to being around the students. She had found the notes from the previous teacher and saw that the second years had only worked with them briefly the previous year.

The few that she could coax into her pen were all Aethonan except one. The Granian, who she had come to call Kaspia, was only two years old, much younger than the other ones. She was a little more skidish than the others, due to her age, but was very gentle once used to a person. Natasha had won her over in the few weeks that she had been back at Hogwarts, but she was unsure how she would react to the students.

Checking the gate latch one more time, she took a seat on one of the benches she had positioned in front of the pen and waited for the second years to arrive.

Sam walked to care of magical creatures she hummed lightly as she noticed some animals in a pen she hummed lightly and walked toward the Professor.

" Good Morning Professor" Sam said with a small smile Sam blinked and turned to look at the creatures Sam was a little upset that day but she tried not to let it show but she just was upset she blinked slightly and wondered what they were learning, and she waited for the rest of the class to show up.

Lesson One - Second Years Empty Care of Magical Creatures :: Lesson One - Second Years

Post by Teresa Maria King Tue Apr 17, 2012 11:32 am

Teresa arrived to class and saw the winged horses. "Yay!" she cheered as she ran towards them, not noticing the professor or Sam. Last year she didn't get the chance to ride them or play with them, just pet them.

She jumped on the railing and reached out to pet one of them. It was startled at first, but it calmed down when Teresa said," You are beautiful, aren't you? Don't worry, I won't hurt you. Promise."

Xander made his way down to class, surprised at how nice it was to get back into the swing of classes. He was surprised to see a new teacher, but figured they were common around here.

He saw they were studying winged horses again, but wasn't sure if they were the same ones as last time. He took a seat on a bench near the pen, but didn't go up to it. He shook his head at Teresa, who seemed to be asking for something bad to happen.

Lesson One - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson One - Second Years

Natasha had been excited to share these wonderful creatures with the class. But she had to admit to herself that the young Slytherin's conduct worried her. She wasn't going to reprimand her this time, but would have to in the future if she did not show the creatures they studied the proper respect.

Clearing her throat she stood up. "Welcome, second years! My name is Natasha Willow and I will be taking over Care of Magical Creatures until further notice."

She walked over towards the gate. "I saw that you started learning about the winged horse at the end of last year, so now you will get the chance to ride them. You aren't required to, but either way I want 50 words next class on what you learned from your observations and interactions."

Natasha usually didn't like to leave students to their own devices, opting for a more formal class structure, but felt that the best way for them to learn about these creatures through experience. "Let me know if you have any questions."

Lesson One - Second Years Empty Care of Magical Creatures :: Lesson One - Second Years

Teresa stopped petting as she listen to the professor. She felt rude when she realized that she had been rude. She got a good distance away from the horses.

She watched the horses as they interact with each other. They seems so beautiful as they moved. Teresa felt envious about their wings.

Sam shook her head at Teresa and than she nodded to the Professor, Sam wasn't much for flying unless it was quidditch Sam hummed and watched the creatures.

Sam wondered if she were an animal what animal she'd be Sam figured a wolf but she shrugged who knew she could be a toad for all she knew Sam laughed inwardly at the thought.

Eva ran to class worried about being late. She didn't want to get in trouble. She had felt very sick. She was out of breath by the time she reached the class. She looked at the teacher and breathed. "Sorry...was.....sick...illness." She chocked out and held the stitch in her side. She mentally cured her cancer and wondered what they were doing.

Natasha smiled at the disheveled Gryffindor. "I will not deduct points this time, since we are all getting into the swing of things again. But try to be on time in the future." She patted the girls shoulder and turned to the rest of the class.

She was happy to see that each student would get to choose a horse for themselves, since there were four of each. She opened the gate and walked into the large pen. Kaspia pranced over to her and nudged her in the back. Natasha laughed and pet her on the the nose. "Now everyone pair up with a horse and feel free to ride them if you wish. If you would like to fly with them, feel free, only know that a fall could be very dangerous."

She believed in learning through being hands on, so she didn't want to limit them. Especially since she was only getting to know them.

(OOC: sorry for the late posting, it's been a crazy week. I won't end the lesson until late Monday night, so feel free to post to your hearts content Smile )

Sam did like the professor asked and she paired up with a horse she petted the horse and smiled.

Sam really liked this class she loved all the creatures they saw in class, Sam wondered what creatures they'd learn about the next lesson Sam shrugged inwardly.

Eva smiled that she didn't lose points she would be very sad if she had. She picked a horse and walked up to it. She smiled and patted it gently. She then climbed on and rode around for a bit. She loved it. She had so much fun. She smiled and gently got it to fly. She could cross riding a flying horse of her bucked list. She smiled as it landed.
