Occlumency Lesson 1: 3rd Years Empty Occlumency Lesson 1: 3rd Years

Professor Nocte was sitting at her teacher's desk. She hummed, staring at the ceiling, enchanted with a painting of a pond with fish of different color. No two look the same. They swam, causing ripples in the water.

"I wonder how many of these students of mine will come here today?" She said, smiling.

She played with her red curly hair as she waited for a student to come.

Keiba hummed as she walked down the corridor, eyes dancing as she entered her favourite class. She grinned as she looked around, only to see she was the first one there. Keiba dumped her bag at a seat by the window and crouched down to get out her stuff.

She stood up abruptly, only just remembering they had a new teacher. Keiba bit her lip, wondering what had happened to the old one - he was cool. She glanced to the teacher's desk and saw a red-head woman seated there. Keiba smiled lopsidedly and sat down, hoping the class would be just as entertaining.

"Morning, Professor," she greeted warmly.

Haley walked into the Occlumency class, knowing that this class had changed its professor too. She hoped the new one was as good as the old one. She then blinked, seeing a woman by her desk. She gave a smile. "Good morning professor," she said and saw Keiba.

She walked over to the girl and sat down next to her. "Hello Keibs," she said happily, taking out her books.

Professor Nocte realized that some students had arrived. She smiled at their greeting. She knew they were Keiba Namid and Haley Vilde Smith. She wonder what kind of candy they are.

"Welcome, my sweets," she greeted herself. "I'm going to be honest with you: I have no idea what I am doing as a professor, but I promise I will try my best to teach you the best I can. So I apologize early in case you feel that you learned nothing."

She pointed up to the enchanted painted ceiling of the multicolored fish in the pond.

"Today is going to be a very, very easy lesson, so no books. Nor will we ever use them. We will be staring at my ceiling while calming and clear our minds. We can even tell stories while we are at it."

With a wave of her wand, the room was clear of the desk and left plenty of space to lay on.

"Well, let's lay down," she said as she laid down on a spot on the floor. "The floor is clean."

Occlumency Lesson 1: 3rd Years Empty Re: Occlumency Lesson 1: 3rd Years

Haley didn't mind what the professor was saying, but she felt like the classes might be a bit slackier than what they were last year. But the fact of the matter was that Haley was very good at occlumency after learning from her parents, and learning even more from professor Gaspard. She hoped nothing bad had happeend to him. She was also a bit tired of all the changing of the professors, but she figured it wasn't so bad as it could've been. She rose from the desks and lay down on the floor, looking at the cealing. She cleared her mind rather quickly with the help of the meditation she had learned from professor Slytherin. She could hold her stand against a highly skilled occlumence for a few minutes, and she was damned if she didn't improve over the year.

Occlumency Lesson 1: 3rd Years Empty Re: Occlumency Lesson 1: 3rd Years

She had entered the classroom when she heard the presumably new professor. "Welcome, my sweets, I'm going to be honest with you: I have no idea what I am doing as a professor, but I promise I will try my best to teach you the best I can. So I apologize early in case you feel that you learned nothing."

Tess wondered where Professor Gaspard went, he had been a good professor and very talented in the art of Occlumency, at least from what he taught her. She managed to catch what the professor said and awkwardly put her things down near the other two girls.

' I hope the floor is clean she thought absentmindedly.

Laying down she shuddered at bit at the coldness, but immediately she began to tame her breath, in and out, in and out, until her eyes closed shut and her mind was ebbing away any thoughts, leaving her with a blank slate.

Occlumency Lesson 1: 3rd Years Empty Occlumency Lesson 1: 3rd Years

"Okay," Professor Nocte said, not worried or upset that someone came late to the class. "Clear your mind. Wipe it clean. Forget emotions. Rid yourselves of the thought that you are here."

She use her wand and heated up the floor, but not too hot. She could hear her students' thoughts loud and clear. She should probably see how other professors teach their class. Could learn a thing or two, or more.

"My first question today is how long have you been practicing Occlumency and why?"

If she knew a bit about her students, she might be able to teach the class better and of course, she could use Occlumency, but she doesn't want to invade in their privacy.

Occlumency Lesson 1: 3rd Years Empty Re: Occlumency Lesson 1: 3rd Years

Post by Haley Vilde Smith Sat Apr 21, 2012 3:33 am

Haley wasn't thinking about anything, her memories and thoughts having completely left her mind. She then wondered what she was thinking, realizing she wasn't thinking anything, and smiled a bit. Then she cleared her mind again. She didn't know where she was, she didn't know what she was laying on, she didn't know who was around her. She was so lost that she barely heard professor Nocte ask them a question.

Haley rose her hand, feeling weird doing so when she was lying on the ground. "I've taken this class only last year, but my ... my parents, taught me since I was very young, around four. They wanted me to be able to protect my mind. They said it wasn't just for the bad things in the world, but also from them, so I could have my own privacy," she said, smiling at the memory, before swishing it away again.

Occlumency Lesson 1: 3rd Years Empty Re: Occlumency Lesson 1: 3rd Years

Post by Tess McCartney Sat Apr 21, 2012 6:14 am

Tess laid on the floor and mentally hummed in content at the fact it was no longer cold. Breathing in an out she soon began to clear her head as she usually did. She lulled herself into a mind of clearing her head and she went into a borderline meditation. Learning from Professor Gaspard, she built her wall, layers and layers of it trying to block things out.

Hearing Haley's comment, she felt very out of the loop. Years, Haley had studied for years and Tess herself was but three years old into the idea of Occlumency.

"I've studied three years" she murmured out, emotions lacking, it sounded drone. "And I've studied it to close off my mind and protect myself"

"Protecting your mind," Professor Alice said. "That's probably one of the most common answer I have ever heard. Another reason, though less common, would be to know yourself more. As we close our minds, we learn how to control our emotions and our thoughts, getting to know them as if they are beings of their own."

Professor Nocte sat up, looking at her students.

"If any of you feel like it, we can practice a bit. We seem to have enough time. You can try each other or me. Good luck."
