Third Years - Second Lesson
Cobalt wandered down from his office into his classroom and began his preparations for the subject of today's lesson. The students were either going to learn a lot or faint from his lesson plan today.
Two hours later he had completed his preparations and wrote the word "Traps" on the board before sitting down.

Airen walked into the classroom. What immediately drew his attention was what was on the board. "Traps". Airen didn't know if he should wait by the door, or just sit in his seat. Deciding not to hold any one up, he took his seat at the front. It was pretty risky sitting up there nearest to one of the best assassin's in the world, but it was also exciting.
"Salute (Hello), Professor," he greeted, deciding to be formal.

Charlotte hurried into her fathers class, she was so excited to be able to see him again, they had a lovely time in the break together, and she was glad that he had taken what she had said on board, and was beginning to spend more time with her, including buying her the new kitten, Viktor.
Sitting down in her seat she looked up at the board and blinked; 'Traps' she sure hoped that she wasn't going to be put in a trap, but if she was, she knew it wouldn't be dangerous, because Cobalt wouldn't hurt her, ever. Either way, Charlotte was confident about the lesson.
"Hi Air, Hi Papa." she smiled.

Parker looked at the door before deciding to enter it. He almost wanted to just go back to bed, but he knew he couldn't miss so many of his classes. He opened the door and walked in seeing Charlotte and Airen already in there.
He made his way right to a seat, more towards the back as he always did in his class. Before setting his head down on the desk, he look at the board. He furrowed his eyebrows. Traps? Parker sighed and rested his head down.

Entering the classroom she realized it was eerily quiet. She looked around noticing that Charlotte was the only one excited, Airen was well his usual composed self (that's as much as she figured he was about calmness) and Parker who looked...well dead tired.
She sat down in front of the class and put her satchel to the side, and smiled at the other students. She wondered if she was going to see Victoria who'd gone off the radar. She frowned at the thought.

Haley felt down that day. So when she walked into the classroom and saw the word 'traps' she walked to an empty spot and just sat down silently, not looking at anyone but the teacher. Today, she would be paying unadverted attention to what he said. She was not going to break her leg this class, no matter what traps.

Cobalt smiled a little bit when his daughter entered the room. They were back on good terms and he planned to keep it that way, he wanted his daughter to like him as well as like him after all,
"Morning Charlotte." he waved at the rest of the class, "Good morning class."
He tapped the word on the board,
"Traps!" he declared so that he would have everyone's attention, "If you are infiltrating somewhere, guards are chasing you, but you are a fair bit ahead of them. What do you do? You set a trap!"
He pointed his wand at the floor underneath and unoccupied desk,
"Pitov!" he declared. A small white light shot from his wand and hit the floor underneath the desk. The floor didn't seem to change but the desk suddenly fell through the floor, as if the floor wasn't there at all. He gestured at the now empty spot of floor, "Trap. A pit trap to be precise. A version filled with water at the bottom so you'd be fine if you fell itn"
He grinned at his class,
"To be honest you won't be using that spell this lesson. Oh no. You see... I've littered this entire room with pits just like the one I've just made. All of them hidden by the spell." he waved his wand and all of his class slowly levitated out of their chairs before moving slowly over to the back of the classroom. Setting them down gently, Cobalt sent dozens more of the trap spells at the floor between him and his class, "You must navigate your way across this classroom. Each person who does gains 15 house points for their house. You may begin."

Leshia was late for infiltration and she knew it, she was really tired and had been a long day already.
Walking into class she had discovered that the class had already started. She looked at the board and it said traps. Hmm I wonder what that meant she thought.
She walked into the classroom and before she knew it she had fallen into a hole and splashed into some water.
'dang it' Leshia thought as she sat at the bottom. This would teach her not to be late.

Haley felt herself being levitated to the back of the room. She swallowed slightly as she looked at the students, wondering who would want to go first. She decided that maybe they just went in their own time, and she took some seconds to brace herself. 15 house points. She would be damned if she didn't manage that. She narrowed her eyes and clenched her teeth, glaring at the floor. She supposed she could just use her animagic to become an eagle, but maybe professor Smith would think that cheating.
She breathed in, and as she breathed out, a small wind escaped her lips, undetectable by those who didn't know of weather powers. It scanned the floor, but only the first few feet. In other words, it wasn't much use. And perhaps this was even seen as cheating. She bit her lip and moved the few feet she knew to be safe, but when she had walked like four feet, she didn't know where to go. Okay, trust your gut. Haley sighed, once again bracing herself. She would do this. She would. There was no way she was falling through the traps.
She took a tentative step forward, moving slowly. She was just about to put her foot down next to a desk, when her stomach basically howled at her that something was wrong. Her left foot bent and she jumped, tripping, and landing on the floor, just missing another trap. She breathed in relief, and kept going, her heart beating like mad. She was halfway now as she moved closer to the front of the classroom. A dousin traps. She started calculating the places where the traps were most likely to be, and how they would be placed. She thanked the heavens that her father had insisted on her learning math from a professional, at the same time as she felt horrible for being so damned rich that she coul even afford such things.
Her thoughts had made her calm down and she then pushed everything aside. It was only the last few meters between her and 15 points now. She had to make it. She just had to. She kept walking, zig-zagging back and forth. Only two meters left now. She could manage. She would manage. She clenched her teeth, as well as her eyes for a second before knowing where to step. She took a last step and then landed on the other side of the classroom, breathing heavily in relief.

Re: Third Years - Second Lesson
Crap crap crap crap! Tess chanted in her head.
She had felt a big sick when she was levitated, it was stupid but it was her nerves. Traps, they were doing traps. She had already seen Leshia fall into a damn trap, and she felt she might be next.
Oh Merlin, why did they have to do this. She bit her bottom lip nervously as she looked at the floor. Her eyes trailed towards Haley as she began to walk in front. Haley was brave, but she didn't analyze the floor. She followed her feet, as she stepped, trying to memorize, around what area was it that she stepped, in case she could step on it too, or avoid it.
It seemed a bit cold to do so, watching someone be the experiment before you jumped in to do it, but she figured in Infiltration, it was about the self. When Haley froze, she realized this was not good, she was going to fall and frowned a bit. But as she made it, a grin lit on Tess' face. She figured, if Haley could do it, so could she. She had to, they desperately needed the points.
Tess took baby steps forward and analyzed the floor. It'd be foolish to simply walk where Haley had. The Professor would think she was cheating and she wanted to avoid that. She ignored the anxiety surrounding her, accidental magic was not a good time to occur. She felt the sparks on her hair as it was beginning to be released, but took a deep breath and remembered to calm down. She had to do this. She just had to! She took one step forward, and waited. It was okay, she was fine.
She knew her breathing was going faster and her stomach was in coils at the thought of having to do this. She looked at the next step and took another one. Nothing. Too close, she was pushing her luck simply moving forward...wasn't she? She took a left on the next step, she always preferred left, silly but it was her go to thing. It was intuition that lead her this far, even if it was only...she looked back. Three bloody feet from where she started. She inwardly groaned at her stupidity. She felt her cheeks flush in embarrassment at how stupid she must look.
She was not going to take bigger steps, not only out of fear, but she was figuring out in her head. What would be the chances that if you took a big step, you landed even more into the trap. It seemed a bit, random , but made sense to her and that's what mattered, She hopped on the next step, then moved right as her stomach was tightening up more.
"Halfway" she murmured.
She looked up to see Haley, and she, it seemed relied on her gut feelings.
Enough calculations, perhaps being a bit daring was better. She took a step left, then forward, then right, then forward and stopped. Something wasn't right, she didn't know where to go. She was around four feet from the other side, and yet something was wrong. It's a trap! She forced herself not to scream, but nothing came. All that was seen was a tense thirteen year old, waiting for something to happen. She placed a hand on her chest and tried to calm herself down. She was slowing people down! She looked at the floor and wanted to see if something was off.
What if...what if she walked to only be surrounded by the traps. She tiptoed her foot on the next step but faltered.
"No" she murmured to herself.
She did the same for the left, and when she did the right, it felt a bit better. She took it and again nothing. She was so close, and she hopped to the next step. She took a left, then straight, then left, then straight. But seeing she was a foot away, she hopped right and basically threw herself on the side where Haley was. She landed on her bum, but she didn't care. Those bloody fifteen points were worth it.

Re: Third Years - Second Lesson
Charlotte's eyes widened when she was first levitated across the room, her heart was beating so fast in her chest that it was beginning to ache. But thankfully the feeling went away fairly quickly after being set down again. She still sent her father a little bit of a pout at being levitated without any warning.
Seeing some of the others reach it across the classroom, avoiding the pit entirely apart from the girl who was late, caused Charlotte to bite her lip lightly, nervously playing with her tongue piercing. What if she couldn't do it? She tried to shake her head to get rid of the thoughts before a piece of inspiration struck her.
The covers over the pits weren't solid right? So that meant that they couldn't support anything. That was how people could fall in. But what about something else?
Looking up she saw the large chandelier which hung over the center of the room. Taking her wand, she pointed it at the chandelier,
"Flippendo!"
The spell hit the chandelier, rocking it backwards and forwards wildly. But her plan had worked perfectly. The dust that had been on the chandelier fell down onto the floor. Except there were dozens of circles where the dust didn't seem to touch. They were the pits!
Grinning happily, Charlotte carefully made her way across the room, careful to make sure that there was some dust on the floor before she moved. When she reached the other side she smiled happily to herself and her father. Those house points were well earned!

Airen looked up at the professor as he explained the direction. He felt himself being levitated. When he had been set back down, he at the floor. The professor had littered the floor with pits that covered the entire way between them and the professor. Airen decided to move ahead, seeing that most everyone else had. He took a deep calming breath, collecting himself.
Charlotte's flippendo spell helped him navigate the floor, but there were some ares that didn't get any dust. Moving slowly, Airen passed through two pits that barely touched. He jumped over them and landed on firm ground. Smiling, he continued his way through the floor.
He arrived safely on the other side of the trapped floor. He sighed in relief. He truthfully didn't care much about points, he just liked to challenge himself.
