Lesson 2: Third years

Eleri felt a little silly about her Third Year classes, she hadn't realised that there were Third years wanting lessons after having read the sign up sheet wrong. She had everything ready for her lesson so settled down to wait for her students.

Lucian walked into the lesson, he hadn't minded that the Professor hadn't been there last lesson, he had been able to get more work done in relation to his Ancient Runes apprenticeship, it was something that he was really passionate about, even though he thought that he was developing an aptitude for Charms thanks to his new teacher. He thought she was better than the last.

Sitting down at his desk with a small grin sent the Professors way, he took out his materials and waited for the class to begin.

Eleri was relieved when the first student to arrive smiled at her, she'd been worried that they might laugh at her for not realising there were any Third years.

Terry had heard that there was finally a charms lesson, he had looked last time and nothing was there.

Walking into the class he noticed that Lucian was already in the class, he nodded towards Lucian and the Lehrer and went ahead and had a seat and waited for the class to start.

Melissa headed into charms class and she was glad the class had not started yet. She had been on time so far in all of her class and she was glad.

Walking into the classroom she noticed that Lucian and Terry were already there. She had never talked to Lucian but she was cool with Terry.

She walked over and sat down next to Terry.

"Hay Terry, whats up?" Missy wondered.

Seeing that there were a few students in the classroom, Eleri decided to start the lesson.
"Hello, I'm Professor Ddriag. Firstly I'd like to apologise that there was no lesson last time. I'd read the sign up sheet wrong." She said looking a little embarrassed. A flick of her wand wrote the incantation on the board and conjured a flame in a jar.
"We're going to cover the Flame Freezing charm this lesson. I know there were attacks after the end of school last term and with attacks, there's often fire. While you shouldn't tackle a fire on your own unless you know without doubt that you can handle it, this charm would allow you to get out of the path of the flames and get help if necessary.
However, there are a few circumstances when this charm should not be used. Can anyone give me an example?" She asked, looking around the class.

'Oh great where is the Charms classroom.' Ivano thought to himself as he broke off running through the halls for he knew that he was going to be late. He ran up the third floor staircase and past the classroom a couple of times before he found it stopping to catch his breath at the door. He knocked on the door and tried the door knob finding that it was unlocked he entered the classroom a little embarrassed he quickly found a seat and stared down at his desk hoping that no one saw how red his face was. However if they asked he would say it was from running.

While Eleri was waiting for an answer another student came into the room, looking a little out of breath. She guessed that he must have gotten lost.

Seeing that no one else was going to answer the instructor's question Lucian sighed a little bit. Why did he have to be the one who answered? It wasn't exactly that hard. If he was right of course. He might be and he might not be but at least he was actually making an attempt,

"If fiendfyre or dragonfire are used against you then the flame-freezing charm won't help." he smirked slightly, "You'll just be in a silly pose when you get burnt."

Eleri laughed.
"That's very true. Also, you should never use the flame-freezing charm on flames in Potions class, it could react with the ingredients. 10 points to Verstand. " She smiled. A wave of her wand conjured a small contained fire in front of each student.
"Now, the incantation is 'Congelo Flamma' and the wand movement is just two swishes, very easy movement but you need to put enough power behind the charm otherwise it won't work for very long." She said, marking a simple diagram of the wand movements on the board.
"Now, don' worry if you're unable to hold the spell for very long a first, it's a simple case of practice. Why don't have a go now?" She smiled, turning to the class.

Terry was a little slow getting an answer out, he had noticed the new student in this class as well. The freezing charm seems like for the most part it would work wonders on things. Diffidently would not want to use it around a flame you do not want to freeze.

Melissa noticed that once again Ivano was in her class, this was going to be way too easy, now if only she could get him to be interested in her she would be one step ahead of everyone else.

Congelo Flamma was the incantation that she was suppose to be working on so she got to work on it. Freezing charm, sounds really interesting.
