Lesson Three - First Years Empty Lesson Three - First Years

Post by Natasha Willow Wed May 16, 2012 2:29 pm

Natasha had put up a sign by the usual clearing where class was held:

Lesson three will be held at night time. Please return then.

That evening she waited patiently in the clearing next to her new and improved pens. She had felt bad for having so many creatures that needed to be in cages or tied down that she was worried the students weren't getting the best experience that they could in her class. So, over the weekend, she had found a spell that could keep the creatures in the pen.

As she waited for the first years to arrive, she took a moment to enter the pen and pet her newly acquired calves. There were only the pair of them this year, but they were as sweet as can be. She was happy to be able to share them with the girls.

Carly was excited about care of magical creatures today. She had seen the sign earlier and was wondering all day what they would be doing.

As she neared the clearing she saw she was the first to arrive, seeing the professor in a pen she walked closer. When Carly saw the creatures she gasped, they were beautiful, she carefully moved closer for a better look.

Iola saw the sign and wondered what they would be studying this lesson, her Ada was pleased that she'd inherited his skill with magical creatures and she desperately wanted to make him proud. When she returned, she saw the teacher and another student standing with two beautiful calves.
"Vanimle ron tiri." She whispered as she approached.

"Thank you for coming so late, girls." Natasha wondered where the other students from last lesson were, but didn't worry. She would share these beautiful creatures with whoever showed up.

"I would love to introduce you to Gwen and Siri. These are Mooncalves." As she was speaking the clouds parted and the moon was able to shine directly on the pair.

They quietly moo'ed and started to sway back and forth. After a few minutes they started dancing on their back legs in an intricate pattern around the pen. They hind hoofs made patterns in the grass as they moved.

Natasha smiled brightly. "Can either of you tell me anything about these creatures?"

Carly was still amazed by the beautiful calves. She didnt know much about them, but she did know one thing.

"They only come out of their burrows at the full moon" She said in reply to the question, still looking at the adorable calves.

Once the other girl answered, Iola raised her hand.
"When the mooncalves leave their burrows they like to dance and sometimes leaves intricate patterns in wheatfields which Muggles call 'crop circles'." She added.

"Excellent girls! 10 points each." Natasha was extremely happy with how excited they were about the little calves.

Motioning for them to leave the pen, she said, "That will be all for this lesson. Homework will be 50 pages on the Mooncalf, from what you saw tonight and from your text. To be turned in next class. Now lets get you back to the castle." She quickly locked the pen and lead the way up to the castle.
