Lesson Four - First Years Empty Lesson Four - First Years

Post by Darcie Vane Mon May 28, 2012 9:44 pm

Darcie walked happily into her lesson, truth be told she was a little sad that she was leaving, after all she had seen many pupils in her class lately and she was getting more and more attached to them as the year had gone on, and it was hard to believe that it was now the last lesson of the year!

Pouting a little bit she sat down on the desk, and she carried a large bundle of sweets that she had with her, to give to the students, placing a chocolate dragon, much like the chocolate frogs, but in the shape of dragons, on each students desk she hoped they would like them.

On the board she wrote the lesson topic:

'Pentagrams'

Lesson Four - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - First Years

Christielle skipped into the classroom, happy that the lessons are finally over, but also sad because it'll be another year before they see the Lehrers again. Smiling, she turned to the Lehrer. She has been attached to her in the past lessons already. "Guten morgen (good morning), lehrer Vane!" she said and walked to one of the seats.

She noticed that there were chocolate dragons on top of each desk. She grinned, took hers and put it inside her bag. She was going to save it for later, since she didn't want to hurry things.

Christielle looked up at the board. She stared for a while, and looked at the door and waited for more students to arrive.

Lesson Four - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - First Years

Post by Darcie Vane Wed May 30, 2012 11:29 pm

Darcie smiled widely she could see that there were so many people here now and it did her heart good to see so many people interested in the subject that she was teaching, she was so happy to put the extra effort in if people wanted to be able to enjoy it.

"Hello Christielle and hello Lomasi, welcome to your last lesson of the year, please enjoy your chocolate dragons while we get started, they're a little present for each of you." she said with a happy smile.

With a slightly lesser smile, she decided to start the lesson, and she tapped the board lightly;

"So can anyone tell me a little bit about what pentagrams are, or what they are used for? You'll get some points for your house if you can."

Lesson Four - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - First Years

Post by Christielle van Gysel Thu May 31, 2012 2:22 am

Christielle beamed at the lehrer, but then frowned when she said that it was their last lesson. It was worth it, although, as they were about to become second years. She sighed when Lehrer Vane started the lesson.

Her hand, for the first time, didn't shoot up. She forgot to study the night before, and she was extremely tired. She tried to recall, but she remembered nothing. Nothing at all.

"Pentagrams..... pentagrams...?" Christielle thought. She doesn't remember anything, although she HAS read about it once. Finally giving up, she stayed in her seat. "I..... forgot to... er... study." she said, mumbling the last word.

Lesson Four - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - First Years

Post by Lars Ulric Wilhelm Thu May 31, 2012 10:34 am

Lars walked into the class he suspected he would be the best at, Dark Arts. He was a curse specialist, and had seen practically everything in his old family castle. There were so many cursed objects around, that he learned as a child how to be careful around them. Lomasi was correct, but he also knew a little more about them.

"From what I've read, Muggles use it as a sign to identify witches. During the Salem witch hunts, pentagrams were used to identify female magic users. Also, they are used in rituals like Lomasi said, but more specifically, to focus spells and energy. They would gather around it at the points, or sometimes in a large circle, and focus their energy in the middle. At least, that is what I believe my book said. It has been a while, but generally my memory is picture perfect. Is that correct Professor Vane?" Lars asked her politely. He would not want to get on her bad side, he wanted to be a Dark Arts apprentice if he could.

Christielle raised an eyebrow, but she wasn't seen as she was in the back. "Finally, someone smarter than me." she thought. She sat there, waiting for the next question of Lehrer Vane.

She looked around, sighing. There were more people in class this lesson, unlike the other lessons where it was only her in the room.

Darcie smiled warmly when Christielle told her that she had not been able to study the night before, she didn't think that it was a big problem, the lesson after all was for learning in, it didn't matter if you'd looked over the topic before hand.

"Don't you worry at all, that's what this lesson is for, to be able to teach you about the subject, you dont have to read up about the subjects before hand." she said happily.

When Lomasi gave her answer Darcie smiled even wider; "Well done! 5 points to Verstand. They are indeed used in rituals and that's what we will be looking at today."

Seeing that there was a late student coming in, Darcie blinked at his knowledge but she did not smile as widely as she would have done, if he would have arrived on time to her lesson.

"Well done for your answer Lars however because you're late I can't give you any points, can someone give me a type of ritual that pentagrams might be used for?"

Lesson Four - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - First Years

Post by Lars Ulric Wilhelm Fri Jun 01, 2012 5:16 am

"I understand, Professor Vane. As for types of rituals, a blood sacrifice ritual is one thing I have heard about. You can put a person in the middle, and then have them draw blood. Somebody else can inflict the wound as well. Blood is used in many forms of dark magic, and from what I've read, certain rituals can kill a person. Then harness the departing spirit's, (or ghost's if you prefer to call it that,) energy. It makes me sick to think about it." Lars said, trying to hold his food in.

"Sorry, may I go to the restroom?" Lars asked. "My imagination is sometimes a bit too vivid for my own good." he explained, and tried to think of bland bread. He imagined the taste, and it helped a little bit, then blood ran over the blood, pouring from a wounded child. It was a disturbing image, and now he was positive he would throw up. Lars just hoped he could reach a trash can, or water closet first.

Lesson Four - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - First Years

Post by Darcie Vane Sat Jun 02, 2012 2:05 am

Darcie raised her eyebrow a little bit, although she really did like students giving answers in her class this boy was not giving anyone else a chance to answer and that made her more than a little bit mad because she wanted to see what they all thought.

However when he said he was going to be sick Darcie hurried to the door and opened it nodding her head vigerously; "OH yes yes of course please do go to the bathroom." she said with a small smile on her lips.

Turning back to the class Darcie smiled wider;

"Actually, despite the very dark side of pentragrams they are mostly used to channel and invoke spirits, that's why many necromancers first begin with using pentagrams. Can anyone tell me a problem that might occur from using this type of pentagram incorrectly?"
