Lesson Two - First Years

[Richard Romain]

Richard Romain was covering yet another lesson and he was not best pleased. To be perfectly honest the only reason he was doing so was because his wife, the Headmistress, had asked him to. That and he didn't want to see her even more overworked. So here he was in the Muggle Studies Classroom, waiting for his class to show up. Or, he hoped, the actual professor of the subject.

Valentina was surprised when yet again she entered the classroom and Professor Romain was there. It seemed like him and the Headmistress were in charge of pretty much everything and covering every lesson around here.

"Good Day to you Professor, again."

Smiling slightly Valentina sat at the front desk and waited for her lesson to begin.

Deciding not to comment on how few people were taking this class - it was an elective after all - Richard moved to the front of the class with a textbook in his hands. After skim reading it for a few seconds, he tossed the book over his shoulder,

"Yeah that's wrong." he told them simply before fishing around in his pocket before withdrawing a lightbulb, "Can anyone tell me what this is?"

Valentina had taken this lesson because she thought it would be easy and she knew as soon as the Professor spoke in that slight German accent of his that she loved do much, what the subject of today's lesson was.

Raising her hand politely she smiled after being called upon.

"Is it a lightbulb sir?"

She was late. She winced as she ran down the halls, avoiding as many students as possible, and zipping through the long hallways towards her classroom.

Why did it have to be in the second floor! she thought as she ran up the stairs.

This almost made her nostalgic towards her first day of school when she was late once more. She shook her head and stopped in front of the door. She ran her fingers through her hair trying to look presentable and straightened out her robes, as soon as she did, she opened the door tentatively to see the Head of Slytherin running her classroom.

"Excuse me Professor Romaine, I am sorry for my tardiness" she said breathlessly.

She was exhausted and seeing the lightbulb on his hand, she knew the class had already begun.

Richard laughed happily when the new Muggle Studies teacher walked into the class. Although she was too late for the lesson, her appearance here meant that all of the lessons would now be taken by someone other than himself. He really wasn't a fan of teaching other subjects after all. He grinned a little bit,

"Don't worry about it, I was just wrapping up the lesson." he told the new professor, "You'll get the next one right?"
