Lesson Four - Third Years
Richard was drumming his fingers against his desk. He wasn't bored at all, far from it, he was actually feeling very restless. He was a bundle of energy right now, his right leg was bouncing even sitting down and he was grinning. He was going to enjoy this lesson.

Charlotte walked into the lesson and she looked at Uncle Richard, they had not spent much time together today and she was a little sad because of that, although she knew that he was busy this year what with Briony being pregnant and now having to take care of little Raven, maybe she would be able to come over in the holidays.
Sitting down at her desk she smiled lightly and ran her hand through her hair, sucking on her lip piercing she wondered what the lesson would be about today.

Airen walked into the classroom. He noticed that Professor Romain seemed excited. He smiled at the thought that even the teachers were excited for the break. He slid into the seat next to Charlotte and smiled at her.
"Morning, Professor," he said cheerily.
"Hey, Charlotte," he added softly.

Richard checked his watch and frowned. His entire class should have been here by now and they just weren't, only Charlotte and Airen were in their seats. His good mood deminished,
"It seems that only you two could be bothered to show up." he remakred casually but with a touch of annoyance, "If you see any of the others after this be sure to tell them that they've got their houses ten points each for not showing up?"
Shaking his head, he gestured at the desk in front of his students,
"Ordinary desks. Wooden desks." he moved to the board and wrote down the name of the spell, "The spell we will be doing today is Wartavinus. You will be converting your wooden desk into a wooden shield. As a bit of an incentive, I will then fire a spell or two at you. To test the strength of the shield of course."
He held his wand up to demonstrate the motions,
"The motions are simple. Right flick, down flick and then a jab towards the desk." he smiled, "Spell is pronounced War-Tav-In-Us. Seeing as there is very little that can go wrong you may begin whenever you like but testing the motions and the incantation alone first would be prudent."

Victoria sighed and walked quickly into the classroom. She had been able to hear the professors instructions through the door. And, unfortunately, that she had lost them points. She was surprised at how fast her hearing was developing, though. It seemed that with each passing week she was learning new things about herself and her new world.
Taking a seat near the back, she turned her attention to the class. She wasn't trying to avoid the professor, it just felt safer in the shadows. Trying to concentrate, she closed her eyes and practiced only the word, and then the wand movements. She wasn't sure how fast or how well she would be able to actually perform the spell in the classroom, but she took down notes for later study.

Tess looked a mess, her eyes looked glassy, her skin paler than usual, and her eyes had a dark shadow under them signaling her insomnia. But she stood behind the door and heard Professor Romain tell them about points being lost and winced. She looked down at her Time Turner wondering if she would even use it. But seeing as Victoria had already entered, she might as well play it brave and do the same.
Putting her watch inside her shirt (she wore it as a necklace) she walked in head down biting her lower lip as she knew Professor Romain was going to be disappointed.
"Sorry.." she murmured softly.
She put her books down and managed to hear his instructions. She did the movements, 'right flick, down flick and jab' she repeated as she tried to continue the movements.
"War-Tav-In-Us." she said slowly to herself trying to get it right.
