Lesson 4: First Years Empty Re: Lesson 4: First Years

Post by Seffi Dresner Wed May 30, 2012 10:02 pm

Seffi swiftly walked into the lesson, she knew that she was going to be late, she had been talking to Eliza all the way down, but she didn't know that she was going to try and persuade her to take a trip down to the lake and stay there for about half an hour.

Of course she had to say that she was unable to, which had made a large argument take place, so now she was very upset and sniffling as she entered the classroom. Taking her seat she wiped at her eyes and waited for the lesson to begin.

When he walked into the Charms room, he was pleasantly surprised to find a piece of fruit on their desks. Before he bit into it though, Lars decided he better ask if it was for the lesson, or just a snack. "Excuse me Professor...what is your name? I just came, after my uncle took me on a tour of his businesses he dropped me off here. He wants me to run the company when he passes, you see." he said.

"Hello Seffi. What's your name?" he asked the other girl in the class. She looked like a nice enough person, with a laid back, outgoing type of personality.

Lesson 4: First Years Empty Re: Lesson 4: First Years

Post by EleriDdriag Thu May 31, 2012 8:20 am

Eleri smiled brightly, she actually had First year students.
"Hello everyone and welcome to First year Charms, my name is Professor Eleri Ddriag. Now hopefully you'll all enjoy this class as I like to keep things as fun as possible. You might all notice that there are various pieces of fruit in front of you. Well, this lesson we're going to be doing the 'Animus' charm. It animates inanimate objects." She said in her strong Welsh accent.
With a wave of her wand, she non-verbally conjured a maze in the centre of the room.
"Because just making them dance like other teachers do is boring, I thought that we could have a little race. The idea is to be the first one to get through the maze. There will be a prize for the winner. The wand movement is very simple, you just point your wand at the fruit and say 'Animus' and use your wand to direct where you want the fruit to go." She continued before pausing as she thought of something.
"By the way, you might want to watch out for my cat, Toulouse likes to play and he'll see your fruit as a new toy. Everyone ready?" She asked with a grin.

"Wow! This is a lot more fun than I expected my first class to be. Sounds great Professor." Lars said, this was right up his alley. Use your wits to distract the cat, and maybe get him to attack the other fruit, the ones belonging to his classmates. While his eidetic memory, cataloged the maze shape, and then dissect it once his brain new every piece of it. This was when being a genius had its advantages.

"Lars Ulric Wilhelm,k nice to meet you Lomasi. Maybe we can hang out sometime outside of classes?" he asked her, with a hopeful look in his eye. He needed to make new friends. One, to practice relating to non-geniuses; and two, because he was lonely.

"Will you count us off, Professor?" he asked her. Then, he got into his sprinting position. His left knee was hovering just an inch above the ground with his right knee up, and ready to push off. time to show he wasn't just smart, he was athletic as well. He trained with weapons so he wouldn't be too slow, being a slow runner was a weakness enemies could exploit. Lars may have looked small, but that was because he had a runner's narrow frame, he was much stronger than he appeared to be.

"Sounds great Lomasi. Ready to bring this one home for Verstand. I warn you though, I won't go easy on you just because you are in my house. Growing up in my family, you learn to be very, very competitive." Lars said, smiling at her and showing his pearly whites.

Then he winked to confuse her, and maybe get a good jump on her from the beginning. Personally, he thought that he was pretty ugly, but for some reason his smile, and especially a flirtatious action like a wink, threw girls off balance. He used it to his advantage, just like he twisted everything to his advantage. His superior intelligence allowed him to be successful most of the time. But, he hated the fact that he did do it some times, so he tried not to do it too often because he knew he had a genetic advantage with his genius intellect. It was who he was, and he wouldn't change for anybody. Well, strike that, he would for Seffi; whatever Seffi Dresner needed, he would become to make her happy.

"Alright, just remember, don't be overconfident, you have no idea where Toulouse is hiding, there's also some traps in the maze so watch out. Ready...3...2...1...go!" She grinned, starting the race before settling down to watch the race. She, of course, knew where all the traps were and was wondering if anyone would manage to avoid them.

Lesson 4: First Years Empty Re: Lesson 4: First Years

Post by Lars Ulric Wilhelm Fri Jun 01, 2012 3:39 am

Lars knew that it was better to go slow and steady in a competition like this. He took off at a brisk jog, slow enough where he could react quickly. Then, as he watched for crossroads, he decided he would start left. Coming to the first cross-section, he immediately turned left, committing the place to his memory. After he turned, he said, "Aguamenti." Water shot out of the end of his wand across the intersection, and he waited until there was a good sized pool of water. Next, he decided to use his weapons training to his advantage, "Incendio!" Lars yelled, and watched as the water turned to steam. He knew that this would give him the advantage, he had trained to fight, and confuse people with mist.

Walking to the next corner, he turned right, and took off at a slow jog once again. Making sure to mark his way, he put a blue-white ribbon in the corner of each section. It would hopefully blend in with the mist well. So, only somebody who already knew it was there would be able to use it. At least that was the theory, and then he felt thin air underneath his feet. Looking back, he knew he was toast, but then he remembered his wand. "Wingardium Leviosa!" he said, pointing his wand at himself, and directing his already forward momentum over the pit. He never would have been able to jump it on his own, Lars had gotten lucky.

As he plodded on deeper into the maze, Lars knew that he would have to be more careful. If he made a mistake like that again, he suspected Lomasi might beat him. Thankfully, his weapons and military training kicked in, his mind focusing on his task. Making it through the maze, he had the wits to do it. But, did he have the proper skills that would be required?

Eleri sighed as she saw that one of the students hadn't really understood the point of the maze.
"Very well done with the advanced spells but you were just supposed to be using the Animus charm or other First Year charms as it's not fair on everyone else, especially when you use them like that." She said, waving her wand and causing the steam to disappear. As an after thought she placed a charm of her own creation around the maze. It was one she'd made when she was younger and being bullied, any spell above a certain level would be reflected back on the caster.
"I wouldn't try that again Mr Wilhelm, it would not be a good idea." She added, making sure that he couldn't accidentally set fire to himself.

"Oh, sorry Professor. I didn't know that there was a spell limitation. I will stick to simpler ones from now on. Animus!" he yelled, and his lime began to move. Then, he concentrated more, and it began to wobble forward. "Come on Mr. Lime, go!" he yelled at it. The lime then started to get a steady roll going, and it began increasing speed. It ran into the first corner.

He decided to go a little slower around the corners, and began to steadily navigate through the maze. His genius brain had already mapped out the correct path to take for him. Thank goodness that he wasn't completely lost. The other students might struggle with the maze aspect a bit more.

Lomasi did not run through the maze she creepy quietly through the maze and she was rather sneak all the same. When the mist and the fog came around she did not mind she creep around the mist and she start to run silently not making sound all the same she plan to try creep while she ran one corner of the maze she heard one of boy called her name she moved she was trying to stay hidden when she creep around one corner.

She ran a bit faster hopeful she had taken off her shoes while she was in the mist she could run faster but she also figure that boy could hear her with her shoes on the same way with the cops as she ran barefoot all the same. Wouldn't it be cool if they tied all the same she move through through the ground of the boy all the same.
