DADA Lesson Nr. 1
Jake was happy today. Why was he happy? Because he had a system! No longer did he need to do rollcall and memorize everyone's names. Now, he had already gone over the students' names and given them their designated desks, so if he wanted to find out someone's name, he merely had to consult his parchment detailing the placements. Perfect!
With a sigh, he stepped through the door to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, wearing a look of resignation that he always wore on the start of every year. "I'll quit this year," he muttered to himself as he walked over to his desk, finding most of the students already waiting inside. "I'll probably quit this year..."
As he reached his desk, Jake looked over the students. "Wands away, please. There won't be any silly wand-waving in my class until you reach your second year. First year is theory only. I don't want any arms blown off," he said as he took his flask of Firewhisky out of his pocket and taking a swig.
"In order to fight the Dark Arts, you need to understand the Dark Arts. That's what I will be teaching you. You will learn what makes a spell labeled Dark, what Dark is, basically. Any questions, or are your little brains keeping up with me so far?"

Re: DADA Lesson Nr. 1
Charlotte had walked briskly into the classroom that the Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor was situated in, she had never met this man before and was a little nervous but she had all of the things she needed and she was ready to learn anything he would want to teach her.
As she walked into the classroom she smiled breifly at him before taking a seat at one of the desks.
"Good morning Professor." she said softly
As she took out her quills and parchment, Charlotte nodded, she just hoped that the theory of this year wouldn't be too boring, and she began to doodle on the page of parchment she had gotten out, but nodded once more when the Professor asked if she was keeping up.

"Morning Professor." Darren said briefly as he entered the classroom, and sat at the back of the classroom, taking out his materials and waited.

Ryana sighed quietly when Professor O'Shay said that they wouldn't be doing any practical lesson until second year. Defense Against the Dark Arts was always something she had been interested in and had been looking forward to practicing some defensive spells. "Oh well" she thought "at least I will know the theory." She reached into her bag and pulled out some fresh parchment and quills as well as ink and got ready to take notes. "Please don't cover werewolves" she chanted as a mantra in her brain. Ryana didn't want many people to figure out what she was or she would never make any friends. Blowing a strand of blonde hair from her eyes she looked around the room and muttered a quiet "Good Morning Professor, How are you today?" as he passed though she didn't expect much of a response.

Airen walked into the classroom. He saw that he had an assigned seat. This was different compared to all the other professors, but he shouldn't be one to judge.
When the professor walked in and stated the curriculum, Airen found the he agreed with Professor O'Shay. Better get the theory down before you start using the skill.
While tempted to go sit by Charlotte, he knew that it was best not to get off on the wrong foot with your professor. He hoped that he could still remain friends even if they weren't in the same house. When the professor finished, he nodded his head.
"No questions, Professor," he said.
