Raven smiled happily as Konig held her back for real and she somewhat pouted when she heard that the boys had been fighting together and she hadn't been there to watch, it was definately not the kind of behaviour she had expected from those two!

"Fighting? Bad moods? Hmmmm this doesn't sound good Konig." Raven said sternly

Spotting Viktor by the drinks table Raven hooked her arm around Konigs own and tugged him in the direction of the alcohol.

"I'm in the mood to get wasted tonight."

Casting an eye over the fight between the girls and that boy from before Raven narrowed her eyes and growled ferally, her lip actually lifting up in disgust. That boy was going to get what was coming to him, and by the time she was done, he wouldn't even be classed as a boy any more.

In fact Raven began to turn and walk after him. Someone would have to stop her. Or she would actually do the things she had been thinking of.

"Nobody talks to a member of staff like that." she growled

Viktoria gasped slightly and she watched as the boy snapped at her, it was a horrible thing to happen and she wondered why he had done it, after all she had done nothing to really warrant that, she was only doing her job and she felt a little stung by his reaction.

"Yes. Yes. Yes. I'm afraid."

She looked down at him sadly and as he apologised the expression in his eyes almost made her want to run off into the corner and cry, but she didn't she just looked at him with her sad brown eyes and shook her head.

As the boy left with his friends Viktoria hoped that she wouldn't be teaching him this year, it wasn't in her to punish anybody but she would have to if he continued in this manner.

Managing a small smile at the girls Viktoria fled over to the drinks table and drank from another Iron Bru alcopop sniffling lightly.

"Nobody talks to a member of staff like that." she growled

Lukas turned around and saw a woman charging towards him. Her eyes wild and it seemed as if he was about to be in a whole lot of mess if he didn't do something to turn his luck.

He took a careful look at the woman and it hit him. She has to be the one his father told him about. How could he let this happen? Cursing himself for getting into a fight over a cat. He decided to be completely honest with her.

"I am sorry. I really am Lehrer. I mean't no disrespect to anybody. I couldn't control my anger over a small issue. I won't do such a thing again. I know you will understand why I behaved that way. And it isn't my fault completely either. Please believe me, I truly am sorry, Lehrer... Drake", said Lukas with unblinking sincerity.

He wasn't sorry what happened with the cat or the girls of course. But he wasn't lying either. He was sorry, truly sorry for upsetting The Sweeney. He needs her to like him and support him. He in no way can afford to be on the sharp end of her razor.

He continued to look at lehrer Drake hoping that she might be impressed by his honesty or at least find his sincerity interesting enough to let him go scot free for now.

The Doctor had been mingling with a mixture of guests, Instructors and students when he noticed something that did not fit with the picture at all. It seemed there had been a small fight and it was escalating rapidly. From what he saw, Viktoria was handling it well. Of course it looked like the boy's remarks had cut her rather deeply but he was sure he could convince her that she'd done the right thing.

What he did not like, despite the boy's attitude, was the fact that Raven Drake, also known as 'The Sweeney' had one of her 'friends' open in her hand as she marched towards the boy. She seemed to totally ignore his words. If possible she appeared to grow angrier. Frowning deeply, The Doctor squeezed the TARDIS, his own modified time turner.

In a flash of bright blue light, The Doctor appeared between the boy and Raven. He caught Raven's arm lightly to stop her mid-swing,

"Instructor Sweeney..." he looked at Raven with a frown. To anyone who had met The Doctor before, a frown meant he was upset. And The Doctor, where upset, had the emotional force and intensity of those when they were angered beyond belief, "I can handle this student from here. Although it may require your help, I'm afraid that your 'friend' is scaring some of the other dancers."

Turning to the boy, The Doctor gave him a withering look that had sent quite a number of grown men running to change their underwear. It was the look of a battle-hardened warrior who would not hesitate to slit your throat,

"Mr Caesar." he said coldly, "To ensure that this event is not repeated... you shall be having a detention."

Here he paused to give the last statement more weight,

"With Instructor Sweeney."

Letting go of Raven's arm, he gave them both a warning look before walking over to the drinks table. Once there he gave Viktoria a hug and smiled happily,

"You did great out there Vikki!"

Viktoria saw how the Doctor dealt with the situation with her mouth hung slightly open, oh my he was so cool, and then she shook the thought from her mind, there would be no thoughts like that entering her head then she would be thinking about how handsome he looked in his new suit.

A blush had crept onto her cheeks as she thought about this and she quickly took another sip of her drink to cool her down a little bit.

As she felt the Doctors arm around her Viktorias blush only increased and she moved to a respectable distance, it wouldn't do to be like that around the students even though the Sweeney was up to much worse she was sure.

"Hello Highmaster, Uhm, thank you sir. Obviously I didn't handle it well enough though." Viktoria frowned softly.

The Doctor took the time to appreciate Vikki's beauty in her new dress. It really did heighten her beauty in all of the right ways. Highlighting all of her wonderful body. He blushed lightly and had to fight to control it. Seeing her downcast expression he hugged her again,

"Don't feel down Vikki!" he encouraged her cheerfully, "Some people just don't respond well to authority."

He shrugged a little,

"You just kind of have to be firm with them." he gave her a cheeky kiss on the cheek, "You were brilliant."

Holding his hand out to her, The Doctor bowed,

"Care for a dance?" he winked at her, "The world doesn't end if The Doctor dances..."

At the feeling of the Doctor hugging her again Viktoria blushed wildly again and she bit her lip, she was going to get way in over her head here and she wasn't sure if this was going to be such a good idea. Yet she didn't want to move away.

"Ah, uhm I guess so Highmaster, some students just need to be spoken to in a different way I guess."

Smiling lightly Viktoria felt her blush rocket as the Doctor kissed her cheek and she touches it gently with her finger tips, smiling as if this was part of some surreal dream she was having.

"Thank you S-sir." she stuttered slightly

Viktoria looked at the Doctor as he bowed and asked for the next dance, grinning softly Viktoria nodded, she was only longing for a dance especially with the Doctor. Gently she placed her hand in his own with a smile.

"Very true, Doctor, dance with me then." she giggled

He survived! Finally something good happened! He thanked the Doctor a million times for his intervention.

He tried to keep his face as straight as possible.

"Yes... yes sir. I'm sorry sir.", Lukas replied and hurried away as quickly as he could. He was going to clean the punch, dry his clothes and be a good boy for the rest of the night.

The Doctor knew that Vikki was blushing like mad as he hugged her. It was just kind of what she did when he hugged her after all. That and he could feel her cheeks warming up against him. He smiled happily,

"That's the ticket Vikki!" he smiled cheerfully, "You'll learn how to deal with individual students soon my lovely assistant."

The way she blushed even more after he'd kissed her cheek told The Doctor that she had been waiting for it for awhile. To be honest he was surprised that he hadn't kissed Vikki before as well. Oh well. He had plenty of opportunity to do it more often after all. He grinned when she gave him her dainty hand and he pulled her gently towards him,

"Then we shall dance my lovely assistant..." he purred to her before gesturing to the band with a hand. Moving his hands and arms into the frame of a waltz, The Doctor grinned as the music changed to waltz music, "Then we shall dance together... and forget the rest of the world..."

Viktoria smiled softly and tried to calm her blush but when the Doctor complimented her she flushed pink and smiled shyly, it wasn't very often that she got complimented and she did like it when the Doctor complimented her.

"Okay then Doctor, if you think I can do it I'm sure I'll be able to."

Regretting this automatically Viktorias eyes widened as she was pulled closer to the Doctor, she could see into his brown eyes and there they were, so deep, so interesting. For a moment she lost herself in them.

"Yes, let's, my..."

Viktoria felt her eyes widen even more. Was she about to say 'my love'?! No no. It was a slip of the mind surely. Recovering quickly she smiled gently at the Doctor and copied his stance, the waltz was going to be so lovely with the Doctor.

"My Doctor." she smiled softly, and wished that there were no rules so that she might kiss his cheek in return.

He knew that she was blushing again but he grinned anyway as he gave her a light squeeze in the hug. The Doctor didn't give out very many compliments to be fair but Vikki deserved a lot of them. He smiled even more,

"You will be able to do it!" he winked at her, "I've seen it."

The Doctor enjoyed holding Vikki close to him. Of course he held her closer to him than the frame for the Waltz strictly asked for but that was irrelevant and enjoyable. He raised an eyebrow when she began a sentance and stopped herself. It seemed like the next word would have been one he'd enjoy but he smiled the thought away. At being recognised as HER Doctor, The Doctor grinned happily and began to lead her slowly in the waltz,

"My lovely assistant." he breathed lightly into her ear, "My lovely Vikki."

The Doctor seemed to find what she said to him encouraging and Vikki was glad that he did, it was nice to have him close to her but she was sure that this wasn't how the waltz was supposed to go, they were too close, but she didn't have the heart to stop him.

"Doctor, you're making me blush."

She whispers.

Holding the Doctor close Viktoria looked into his eyes again as he danced with her and she bit her lip to stop her saying something stupid. There was a moment of happiness, she was dancing with the Doctor, which is what she wanted.

"You're a lovely dancer sir, much better than me."

Alys breathed a sigh of relief when Lehrer Vikki interrupted whatever the boy was planning on pulling. Just before the blonde had a chance to warn Ava not to trust him, Lehrer Vikki stepped in and resolved the problem. But it was when The Sweeney stepped in that the girl's heart almost stopped. She had wished earlier that the boy would be eaten by The Sweeney but now that The Sweeney was there with murder in her glare, Alys couldn't help thinking she had been hasty in her wish.

Luckily, the Highmaster stepped in just in time and before anything had started, it came to an end. Alys watched the boy leave and then Lehrer Vikki go off to dance with the Highmaster.

The witch herself made her way back to Tarragon, feeling suddenly weary. Maybe Tarragon and Ava had had enough of the ball too and were ready to head out?

Raven was not happy.

She had been interrupted in the middle of a kill and made to look like an idiot all for the sake of some boys life. She was about to turn on the Highmaster before she thought better of her actions, she'd end up splattered on a wall somewhere, or worse, fired.

"As you wish Highmaster." Raven growled and bowed stiffly to him, the glare was enough to tame her for now.

But, all hope was not lost and her eyes lit up with mirth. A detention. With her? Oh man that boy was in for the worst time of his life when she got her hands on him again, the Professor that he had upset was quite cute, and she didn't want her to be upset.

Watching as the Highmaster and the Professor began to dance Raven smirked; 'Tap that then Highmaster' she thought and walked back over to the Twins, pouting.

"He stopped my fun boys. Now I'm all grumpy."

The Doctor knew that Vikki felt something was off with the way that he was leading the waltz and she would be right. They were much too close together for it to be regulation waltzing but luckily they weren't be judged on dancing,

"Oh really now?" he teased her, looking at her blush before grinning, "That's not much insentive for me to stop doing what I'm doing now is it Vikki?"

He smiled down into her lovely eyes but when she complimented his dancing skills above her own he shook his head as he continued to lead her through the dance in a rather sedate pace,

"I assure you my dear..." He smiled happily, "The dance is only as good as the two dancers teamwork and co-operation. Hence ours is quite beautiful."

Viktoria pouted softly as she was whisked around the hall in the waltz, it was a beautiful dance and she loved it so, and feeling the Doctors touch on her hand was making her heart quiver slightly. She frowned a little and said:

"Well it is unless you take enjoyment in making me blush which is not very professional sir might I just add."

Winking slightly at the Doctor, quite proud of her witty remark, Viktoria lost herself in the music and the steps and she found herself almost dreamily agreeing with the Doctor, all she could see was his beautiful eyes and hear the beat of her heart in her ears.

"Yes indeed, quite beautiful..."

Viktoria blushed slightly.

"Not as beautiful as something else in here however."

The Doctor was oh so tempted to press a finger against her rich, pouting, lips to show just how much he liked it when she pouted so cutely. But he refrained from doing so, lest the students begin to wonder if they were in some sort of relationship. Not that he'd mind but it might effect Vikki if she didn't,

"I'm afraid I must be unprofessional then." he teased back with a wink, "Because you look very lovely with your blush so I like to make you blush."

He smiled happily when she agreed that their harmony at this moment in time was beautiful but chuckled at her second statement. Deciding to tease he a little bit he grinned and nodded,

"You're absolutely right!" he agreed suddenly before winking at you, "You are more beautiful."

Seeing Alys walking back over to their table, Tarragon got to his feet.

"Are you ready to leave, Alys? All these adults freak me out acting like this around us." He hoped she felt the same way, because The Sweeney looked like she would kill anyone if they did the slighttest thing wrong. And watching the Doctor and Lehrer Vikki like that was making him queesy. "We have to go to the temporary dorms, so we can walk together if you like?"

He smiled at her for what felt the thousandth time in the night, he couldn't help it, he just felt so happy with this day, and he loved his new friends.

Of course what the Doctor said only made her blush even more and Vikki bit her lip as she danced around with the Doctor, the song reaching it's climax and she couldn't help but smile a bit inside, at least she looked cute to him. That was something.

"Well then Sir! Maybe I should take your place as Highmaster! Since you are so unprofessional." Viktoria joked happily.

With her body being so close to the Doctors Viktoria worried about bumping into places she shouldn't and she only managed to look up into the Doctors eyes every so often but she always smiled when she did so. Unable to stop her blush Viktoria ducked her head.

"Oh Doctor please hush." she said quietly

Viktoria was thinking of the Doctors eyes when she had said this but now she thought of a quick cover up.

"I was talking about the decorations."

The dance was beautiful to The Doctor and he was sad when he heard the song beginning to end. If it had lasted longer he would have spent more time with Vikki, dancing, and that was something he would have really liked. He chuckled a little and winked at her,

"Well you'd do a better job than I do." he joked with her before grinning, "Be careful though Vikki... the paperwork is evil! It multiplies!"

The Doctor chuckled a little more as she ducked her head and told him to hush. Of course he wasn't going to because he had only said what he believed to be true after all. She was the most beautiful thing at this ball for him but he couldn't come right out and say it. For one thing she might reject him and another was that she could just plain ol' dislike him. When she told him that she'd been thinking of the decorations, The Doctor knew she was lying a little bit but he just grinned,

"Yes the decorations are rather lovely this year." he agreed before smirking, "But I stand by my earlier statement."

As the song ended Viktoria stood apart from the Doctor and curtseyed nicely to him, keeping hold of his hand until she was done and she smiled happily at him, that was the first dance that they had had together and it had been wonderful, absolutely flawless.

"Oh I doubt that, I'm a pushover, id be too easy on everybody and give them whatever they wanted!"

Making a face Viktoria shook her head again and waved her hand passively at the Doctor:

"Definately not the job for me then, I hate paperwork!"

Leaving the dance floor Viktoria stood by the food and took out a breadstick, putting some dip on the end and nibbling at it, she was starving so soon finished it and reached for a punpkin pasty, just the right temperature.

"Ahhh this food is delicious."

Viktoria blushed and turned away from the Doctor slightly, so he thought she was beautiful? Why couldn't she just ask him out for a coffee or something? Morals. That's why. He was her boss and that's the way it was going to stay.

"Thank you Highmaster, for your kind compliment."

Alys smiled gratefully up at the boy and then turned to Ava. "What say you, had enough dancing for one night?" she asked in case Ava wished to stay. She didn't want to leave her friend all alone, especially when tomorrow, they would all be sorted and she might not get to see Ava much.

"I think I've had enough dancing, and adventures, for one night." Avangeline responded to Alys. She had been caught up in watching the instructors interact, she found watching the adults relaxing around them was entertaining as well as educational, so it had taken her a moment to answer.

"I hope the sorting goes well. Remember even if we aren't in the same house we will still be friends." Ava was quick to add on as she got up to leave with Alys and Tarragon.

"Of course we will," said Alys brightly and linked arms with Ava and Tarragon, walking out the ballroom doors. The night may not have gone as expected but any night from which you could walk away with friends by your side was alright with Alys.

Leilah sat at the top table for a while until she realised that she really needed a dance. She completely agreed with what Nettle had said so she became evil vulture lady to find any students using 'medicines'. She had thought the evening would be a good one because everyone loves dancing. Don't they? The Russian got up and watched Steinburg and Nettle talking. Leilah had no idea why she watched people talking but she still did it. he thought about the Sorting that was to take place the following night. Leilah decided to stop being rude and actually start dancing...
