Lesson One - Third Years Empty Lesson One - Third Years

Niobe was in a state of mild panic. Despite Viktor's reassuring words not ten minutes ago, she was on edge. After all, it was her first time teaching a class and the time table had her teaching third years first. She took a couple of deep breaths in an attempt to calm herself down. Viktor had said she had to look the part, even if she was scared on the inside, and the kids would respect her.

Lesson One - Third Years Empty Re: Lesson One - Third Years

Nervous as always when going to astronomy, Annika wondered if the professor would still remember her mentioning Galifrey. She certainly hoped not. It was the biggest and most embarrassing mistake of her life and she never wanted to have it brought up. But other than that she was happy to be coming back to class. The stars and suns had always been part of Oma's lessons and stories and it made her feel more relaxed and at home as she learned.

Entering the class she noticed that there was a new professor this year. She was very pretty and looked quite young. Maybe she hadn't heard of her 'slip' and she could start all over. Things were really starting off with a bang in all her classes this year.

Niobe was very happy that there only seemed to be one of the students she was supposed to teach here, after all she could lower herself into the lessons far more easily than she had done in her mind, she expected there to be tonnes of students and them all to dislike her.

With a large smile Niobe stood up and came to stand in front of her desk.

"Well hi there! My name is Niobe Maestas and I will be your new astronomy professor." she smiled lightly "Today we are going to be learning about the Perseus Family of stars, have you heard about them before?"

"Hi, I'm Annika, nice to meet you. No, Miss, I well..wait I remember hearing the name from my Oma when I was very little, but I don't really recall what it was that she told me. I love the stars and moons, and suns. She, my Oma, used to sit outside with me in the summer and tell me all kinds of stories about them. She said they were all true, but my Mama and Papa said she was a little touched in the head and only thought they were. I will be happy to hear about what is real so I can know the difference."

'I did it again,' Annika thought. 'I just can't seem to stop talking. Mama warned me about this' then out loud she asked "If you don't mind Miss, what happened to our other teacher? Was he hurt in the attack on the ship or something?"

Then sitting in her seat, she took out her books, quill and parchment and waited to hear from the new teacher.
