Lesson One - Second Years
Mikhail set different pots in different seats around the table. His students could sit wherever they liked, however, whatever spot they took was the plant they got. Mikhail appraised the plants; the flutterby bush, just in a baby stage, the flitterbloom with its little tendrils. He even got a hold of some puffapods for them to grow.
He crossed his arms and stood at the head of the table just waiting for his students to arrive.

Re: Lesson One - Second Years
Seffi walked into the classroom, whispering a goodbye to Eliza and she tilted her head to one side when she saw the Professor, they did not look happy to be back teaching and she wondered if all the professors would act like this, it was so strange they would be a professor if they truly did hate teaching.
Dismissing the thought she sent a smile their way and sat down at her desk, running her hands through her hair with a small sigh, hopefully this lesson would take her mind off missing her parents.

Re: Lesson One - Second Years
When Lars walked into the Herbology classroom, he noticed that Professor Novikov had his arms crossed. Maybe it was nothing, or maybe he was trying to get into the mindset of Hogwarts versus Durmstrang, the first task of the tournament would be beginning soon. It could just as easily have been a comfortable pose though, and he didn't read into it too much.
Seeing Seffi, he walked over and sat at the desk next to her. It appeared as if he would be doing something with the plant in front of him, though he wasn't sure what. He waved at Seffi, since the lesson was starting he didn't want to talk. Then he turned his head to face Professor Novikov. Waiting for the class to begin.

Mirri walked into herbology all excited. Next to animals she loved plants and stuff more than anything, even people, except for her sisters. Looking around she saw two other students she hadn't met yet sitting in fromt of planting pots. Not sure where to sit, she took a seat just about the middle of the class and peared into her pot. She wasn't sure what kind it was but she was getting anxious for class to start.

Mikhail uncrossed his arms and nodded. "Looks like everyone is here then. We'll get started. I welcome you to another year of having me for Herbology. I am Professor Novikov, as some of you do know, and I do not tolerate roughhousing within my classroom. Or idle chatting. We are here to learn." He commented, walking around to each pot to peer inside.
When he was finished walking around, Mik returned to the head of the table. "You each have received ten points for your house was arriving to class. The pots in front of you are your project for the whole year. Miss Dresner, you have been blessed with having the flutterby bush. Once it gets big enough, I would like to see it planted near the entrance of this greenhouse. I will assist you with that." Mikhail said, nodding at her.
He then turned to look at Lars. "Mister Wilhelm, you have the flitterbloom. While some may think it Devil's Snare, it is not. It is completely harmless, and you are able to see the bluish tint on the underside of the tentacles. They are small now, but with the proper care for it, it will grow up quite wonderfully."
Finally, he looked at his last student. "Miss Kinne, you have sat in front of the plant that contains the puffapod. When it grows up, you can drop it on the ground and it will burst into a multitude of flowers. The flowers that come out are depending on how you grow it. With love and care, the flowers that come out will be in full bloom and they will be very colorful.
"Every lesson, I expect to see improvement on these plants. I also wish to see small reports on how it seems to be doing. You all have small bags under your seats. I would like you to pull those out. Inside, you have all the necessary materials to take care of your plants."

Re: Lesson One - Second Years
Seffi looked at her pretty little plant and she was glad that she had gotten this one, it looked as if it was going to be fun to take care of and she knew that she would be able to do it correctly because she often liked to do the same things every day, it would be easy to factor caring for the plant into her schedule.
Looking under her desk she picked the bag up and looked inside of it before waiting for the professor to say something else, was she supposed to start caring for the plant now? How would she do that?" Frowning a little Seffi picked her way through the stuff, wondering what it was.

Mirri was a bit taken back by the professor, His attitude, while not really unfriendly, was definitely not warm. But then she also recognized the fact that this would be a class she would learn a great deal from.
Picking up the things under her seat, Mirri wondered just what her plants care would be. She hadn't heard a lot about it's type before. Looking into the pot she whispered. "hello Jan. I get to take care of you now." Then realizing where she was she quickly became quite and returned her gaze to the professor.

Re: Lesson One - Second Years
"You should find magical soil in your bags so you can repot your plant before the next lesson," Mik said, crossing his arms and looking at each student. "There is also some magical fertilizer that will help take care of the plant. You'll have to supply the water on your own, of course, but make sure it's clean. A good plant can go bad if you water it with disgusting water."
Mikhail cleared his throat before continuing. "You'll also find a little manual inside on each other your plants. If you have any questions, resort to the manual. If you have questions after that, then you are free to see me. Unless you have any questions right now that I can answer?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
