Lesson Two - First Years

Briony was looking forward to this lesson, she had thought that the term had managed to move on in a very productive way and the Halloween Ball had gotten off without a hitch, she hoped that the tasks would continue in the pleasant way they had done also, it was doing wonders to the relationship between the two schools.

Opening the door to her classroom, Briony sat down behind her desk and flicked her lighter on, lighting her cigarette she took a deep drag before blowing out a smoke ring.

Writing on the board what the students would be learning about Briony waited for them to appear;

'Personalised Weapons'

"Hello Professor,"I said as I walked in.I sat down and read what was on the board: Personalized Weapon.My only weapon was my wand.

Veronica quietly entered the classroom, embarassed that she hasn't been in the first lesson. She had only gotten her letter somewhere around the first lesson, which was quite odd. She went ahead to her classes, anyway.

"Good morning, professor," she said before taking her seat. She looked up at the board and read today's lesson: Personalized Weapons.

Veronica's eyebrow slightly raised. The only weapon she knew she had was her wand. She sat down quietly and waited for the other students to come.

Briony noted that there were actually first years in this lesson and she almost fell off her seat, she wondered why on Earth they were here when they had not been to the other lessons but she did not want to argue, simply teach them what they had missed.

Which to be honest wasn't much.

Stepping forwards to lean on the front of her desk Briony looked out over the two students and gave a small smile.

"So, welcome to duelling, today we are looking at personalised weapons, in order to get one of them, you must answer each of these questions. No need to write them down just tell me." she said clearly.

'1. Do you consider your strength to be, weak, average or great?
2. Would you prefer hand to hand combat or with a longer range weapon?
3. Have you had any weapons training before, if so, what in?
4. How is your hand eye co-ordination?
5. Are you able to balance well?'

1.I consider my strength to be average
2. I would prefer combat with a longer range weapon
3. The only weapon I've ever been trained to use is my wand.
4. I think that my hand eye co-ordination is average.
5. I'm not able to balance well sometimes

Briony hummed and she listened to Melody as she told her the answers to the questions, there was one weapon that was sticking out for her, she knew that she would like a longer range weapon but one that relied on the hand only, and did not require much balance.

Rummaging in her drawers Briony took out a series of throwing stars and knives, placing them on the desk in front of Melody Briony looked into her eyes as she spoke;

"Do NOT use these without express permission from myself, they have been blunted so you wont harm yourself, and if you use them I will know." she said quietly

Looking at the time, Briony opened her classroom door and she smirked, "Class dismissed, 20 points to Ravenclaw for showing up you two."
