First Years: Lesson Two

Oliver whistled to himself as she wrote his name on the board. He figured the kids might as well know who he is first off, and that he wasn't a student helper. He knew he looked young, and it had been commented on time and time again. He was used to it though, and it helped him keep his childlike demeanor when he was around those he didn't know. Or those he didn't have to act like a grown-up to.

Wiping his hands of the chalk dust, he went over to his desk and pulled all his papers together. Sitting on his desk and smiling to himself, all he had to do now was wait for his students to arrive. He couldn't wait to teach them.

"Hello professor."Really she had never seen a more eager and young looking professor.

Oliver smiled. It appeared that his only first year had arrived. He might as well start the class since he wanted to get rolling. Had a lot to cover after all, depending on the miss in front of him. "Good day to you, Miss Lovegood. As you can see on the board, my name is Oliver Shine. Professor Shine to you of course." He said, hopping off his desk and nodding to her.

"Welcome to your second lesson of History of Magic. Since I'm new, I would like to hear what topics you would like to discuss. Any list of them will do if you will." He stated, crossing his arms with a grin. "I'll make sure to rotate my schedule around what you want to learn this year."

Melody was surprised by this but then again there weren't that many first years around even less that would take history.She thought hard about her answer.
"I'd most like to know about the war against Voldemort,"she replied figuring that now he was dead there was no problem in saying his name. Really she wanted to know what it was like for her mother to have fought in that war but was never sure if it was a good idea to ask her about it.

Oliver smiled and clapped his hands before rubbing them together. "Right then. I can understand your curiosity in wanting to know more about different fights about Voldemort." Moving over to the board, he wrote Voldemort's name and turned back to his student.

"And which part would you like to know about? The war in which the Boy-Who-Lived defeated Voldemort as a little child? Or perhaps when he was much older?" Oliver asked with a grin. "We'll cover both, but which one are you more interested in?"
