Lesson Two - First Years Empty Lesson Two - First Years

Post by Natasha Willow Wed Jun 27, 2012 4:11 pm

Natasha was excited for her next lesson with the first years. There had only been one last lesson, but that did not deter her from providing a good lesson.

As she waited for them to arrive, she made sure the flightless birds were tethered to their posts. It wasn't so much that they would fly away, because they couldn't, but they had their ways. She wondered if any of her students in this class were muggle born in any way. It may prove to be a more interesting lesson if so.

Lesson Two - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Two - First Years

Veronica quietly entered the classroom, embarrassed. She had not been in the first lesson because her letter had somehow gotten sent only after the first lesson had started and she only arrived the past day.

She sighed and looked around. She saw the girl who was in some of her classes. She looked up and saw flightless birds tethered to posts.

Veronica slightly nodded. This was surely going to be a fun lesson.

Lesson Two - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Two - First Years

Natasha smiled at the two Ravenclaws. "Good morning, Miss Lovegood. And welcome," She directed at the new student. She didn't mind that she had missed the first lesson. She was just happy to share these wonderful creatures with another student.

Walking over to the first of the three birds, she pet it's feathered head. "These are called Diricawls. If either of you are familiar with muggle creatures, it is the bird they call a Dodo bird."

She gestured for them to approach, signaling that it was safe to pet them. She'd specifically requested these three from a close friend because they were so domesticated. The smaller one, whom she'd come to call Cyri, was very affectionate. "Feel free to get acquainted. They have to be tethered down because, while they cannot fly, they have the ability to vanish and reappear anywhere they choose. It is actually why muggles believe them to be extinct. The International Confederation actually made the decision not to correct them in this believe because, from this thought, they have become much more conscious of their affect on other creatures."

She was actually very thankful to these birds. While she worked mostly with magical creatures, she also loved muggle ones, and would hate to see any of them driven to extinction.

Melody went over and petted one of the birds keeping a close eye on it in case it disappeared. She wondered how muggles would feel if they learned that it wasn't exinct after alll.
