Essantha walked from the carriage that had escorted her up to the Academy. She smiled softly at the castle and walked inside. She saw students walking around and she felt her smile widen. She was really happy about the job she had been offered.

She walked up onto the third floor where she knew her office would be located. She found it quickly enough and walked inside, feeling that the office was actually a great deal bigger than she had anticipated. She gave a content sigh and walked over to the desk, leaving the door open. She looked at the walls. Plain and boring. She'd have to fix that up, but that wouldn't be a problem.

She then walked over to the window and saw that she had a nice view over Das Eis and Schwartzwald. She then leaned against the window sill. She honestly hadn't expected such an amazing office. She smiled happily and knew that she'd be happy in this place.

Darcie had heard that there was a new school councillor here at Durmstrang she had wanted to come and see her to ask if she was alright settling in on her own, she knew how scary it could be being here without anybody that she knew and most of the Professors were so unfriendly.

Seeing as she had managed to gain a friend out of the last time she had done this she hoped that she would be able to do so this time, after all, she was sure that this new Professor would need a friend or at least a friendly face to talk to while she was in the Institute.

Gently she knocked on the door and waited to see if it would be opened, she might not even be here yet, Darcie thought to herself, and hoped that she wouldn't be waiting here like a lemon when the room itself was empty.

Essantha was so busy with waving her wand around and making the walls decorate themselves with beautiful landscape pictures that she almost missed the knock on the door. She turned and looked at it, wondering who it might be. Students wouldn't come to her yet. Honestly, she'd only been here for ten minutes. Maybe one of the professors had come to welcome her. She hoped so, she would be needing someone she halfway knew, or this would get boring.

She walked over to the door and opened it and saw a blonde woman outside. A professor by her mature looks. "Hey there," Essantha said happily. It was clear that by the small smile on the woman's face, she was there to welcome Essie. She grinned. "One of the professors, I presume?" she asked kindly.

Darcie smiled happily as she heard someone opening the door, she was confronted by a very pretty lady and she could not help but smile even wider when she spoke to her, she seemed very kind from what she could see of her already.

As a soothsayer, Darcie often had feelings about people, an intuition, and she knew that this lady was going to fit in very well here at Durmstrang, she seemed to be a lot nicer than the other Professors that was for sure.

"Hey there, yes I am." she said with a contented grin "My name is Darcie Vane, I'm the Soothsaying and Dark Arts Professor for Durmstrang, I just wondered if you wanted a hand unpacking and things, and just to see if you're settling in okay?"

Essantha smiled happily as the professor smiled back to her; a kind and possibly fun professor then? Good. Maybe she'd become her friend quickly enough. "It's great to meet you Darcie. I'm Essantha Amera, but people call me Essie," she said kindly.

Darcie really looked like a person one could easily befriend. And Essantha could feel the warmth oozing off this woman. "Oh, well, I'm done with the unpacking, but please come on in!" she said, stepping aside to let Darcie by. "I'd offer something to drink, but I have unfortunately not gotten that far yet," she said with a smile.

Essantha walked over to the table she had set up in the middle of the room; she had a feeling that the whole desk-thing would intimidate the students. This was a place for equals after all. "Please sit down," she said and sat down herself.

Darcie smiled as happily as Essantha and she couldn't help but think that they might be able to become friends quicker than she had thought that they would do, after all they seemed to have the same sort of personality.

Quietly Darcie wandered into Essie's office and admired the decoration, she had never been in this office before and she had often wondered what all the different professors offices looked like...although some of them she was probably best not knowing.

"Pleasure to meet you Essie, that's such a cute name." she grinned "Oh no don't worry about that, I did come in unannounced after all. If anything I should have brought drinks."

Sitting down at the table she smiled softly; "You have a lovely office, are you excited to start your job here at Durmstrang? I know I was when I first started out here."

Essantha loved the way Darcie was looking around her office, and she felt extremely proud when she felt some admiration oozing off the woman. After all, she had wanted to make the room cozy enough for students to really appreciate and relax in. She really wanted people to understand the extent to how much a person could help, just by their surroundings. This room was meant to bring forth emotions like admiration and calm, so Essie felt she had succeeded pretty well.

Essie grinned. "Pleasure to meet you too! I'm glad to see such a happy face. Between you and me, I hadn't expected that," she said, the last part in a joking whisper.

But it was true as well. She hadn't thought there would be too many kind people at Durmstrang. Or, kind people? Sure. Smiling people? Not so much. So it felt good to meet someone like Darcie. She smiled at the woman as she sat down.

"I'm extremely excited! I hope to help as many people as I can, really. Especially now in the war an all," she said, her voice lower and more severe. She hated the war. It was pointless. She didn't care what had happened. When something bad happens, it ought to be faced with reality, not death and idiocy.

"How about you? What's it like teaching Soothsaying and Dark Arts?" she asked curiously.

Darcie laughed happily when Essie told her that she hadn't expected to see such a smiling face here at Durmstrang, she knew only one other professor that ever smiled or seemed to have a high moral code, and that was Willow Hartman, the Doctor wasn't too bad, when you caught him on a good day, but besides that...the professors were pretty dire when it came to being friendly.

"Well...there's only one other professor besides me and you that is happy and smiley, thats Willow Hartman, she's lovely. But...the rest of the staff team, quite frankly most of them scare me." she whispered, as if they could hear her.

Hearing that Essie wanted to help as many people as she could, Darcie could see why she had been picked for the role, she seemed to have a genuine passion for what she was doing here! Thats what this school needed.

"I think that Durmstrang needs a nice and friendly school councillor just like you, lots of the students have problems, they just don't know who to talk to." she sighed sadly "I only wish they'd have come to talk to me about them before you arrived, not keep them inside until a good councillor came along."

With a large smile Darcie answered; "I love soothsaying, I'm a seer so, it's the subject I prefer, but Dark Arts is more popular, and I have the feeling that they're waiting for practical lessons."

Essantha smiled at her whisper; she wasn't surprised. The professors at Durmstrang had a pretty ... evil wasn't the right word, but strict wasn't enough. A bad word on them, perhaps. Either way, she asbolutely understood if they got a bit scary.

"Well, then. I shall have to meet this Willow," Essie said with a smile, "I do like me some nice, smiling friends."

Essie felt pretty good about herself when Darcie said that the school needed someone like her. It was good to hear. And it wasn't surprising. What with the virus and the creatures and the rebels...

"I'm glad to hear it. I shall do my utmost to keep this school from craziness then," she said with a big grin. Her grin faded in the slightest at Darcie's words. "I'm sure you're one of the teachers they would've trusted to come to if they really felt it was necessary. The thing with councillors is that no student would feel like they were taking a councillors time, so they would think that it's no problem going to the councillor, with or without it being haste in it," Essie explained, and then frowned, "If you understood that, you're good."

Essie nodded. "Yeah, I can absolutely imagine that," she said with a grin, "And it's pretty cool that you're a seer. There's not many in the world. Anything you can predict about me?" she added with a grin.
