Christopher laughed and shook his head , although he was very impressed by how fast Leon seemed to be shuffling the cards, it showed that he must be very practiced for him to be able to do it so quickly, so he was indeed probably going to lose this round.

"I wouldn't be quite so cocky there young man, I'm sure I could whip myself back into shape enough to win a round with you no problem." he grinned pleasantly

Snapping his fingers in the air Christophers smile faded slightly; "I am not a dishonourable man Leon, I would not ask him anything that you would not tell me yourself, expect perhaps if you have a girlfriend or not. Gossip you know." he joked.

Christopher's mouth opened a little bit and he took out a small notebook, immediately he wrote this down and placed it back in his jacket pocket;

"Now now that wont do at all." he said, flustered "Aurelia will be told her boundaries."

Leon would never tell a sole, other than his two original team-mates, but the way that he dealt with pressure when it built up on him was to shuffle a deck of cards. The fast movement gave him some sort of comfort and gave his hands something to do, something to keep them occupied,

"Oh you keep thinking that old man." he joked back lightly, "After all, I've never once let my skills get rusty. Even if this game is about luck."

He chuckled a little bit as he dealt Chris his hand,

"Oh I have no doubt that you would refrain from asking. But he might not refrain from telling. He tends to forget who should know what." he explained before smiling a little bit more, "If you must know, yes, I have a girlfriend. Just to satisfy your need for gossip... she's my maid. And a vampire. And a lovely woman."

He raised an eyebrow before nodding,

"Make sure that she knows them." he told Chris with a slightly colder tone, "This very nearly brought hostilities back to full strength Chris. The Doctor wants blood and lots of it."

Christopher blinked a little bit when he was called an old man, he had not been called that in a while but he merely laughed a few moments after, it had merely shocked him after all, and he accepted his hand with a gleeful look.

"Well we shall see wont we?" he asked, when looking at his hand "I would very much like another card."

While he waited, he was very surprised to hear about who Leon was romantically involved with, but who was he to judge others, he had not met the lady in question after all.

"And what is this lovely ladies name? It sounds like she is a wonderful woman, very pretty too if the fact she is a vampire is anything to go by." he said kindly.

Frowning a little, Chris stroked the top of his cards and nodded his head; "Oh I know very well how the Doctor would feel at this moment in time Leon, I know."

Leon chuckled a little bit when he got away with calling Christopher an old man. Technically it was true but it was also pretty disrespectful. The fact that he'd gotten away with it suggested that Christopher was alright with the nickname,

"Yes we shall Chris. I look forward to beating you." he smirked and handed Christopher another card, "There you go."

He caught the surprise on Christopher's face and couldn't help but smile a little bit. The truth about who he was dating often confused a lot of people and disgusted others. He was glad that Chris was the first categoy, not the second,

"Maria." he told him with a wide smile, "Maria Arceneau. Oh she's a beautiful woman Christopher, both inside and out. She has a beautiful soul, just as beautiful as her body."

Leon winced a little bit as he remembered something else about Christopher,

"Yes... yes I guess you would."

Christopher looked at the card that he was now given and he nodded his head, he was going to stay with this hand, he was quite lucky to be honest, it was a pretty hard hand to beat to be honest and he hoped that Leon would not be able to get a higher hand.

It would be funny to see his face when he won him on the first round.

"Thank you very much Leon, I shall stick with this hand, and now, let us see what you can come up with." he smiled gently, but a competative urge tinted his voice

When he was told more and more about the lady that Leon was talking about, Christopher had to say that he was glad that he had someone so lovely to be with him, he deserved it; "I wish the two of you every happiness." he smiled gently "You both sound like you deserve it."

Only a slight smile left on his lips, Christopher chose to ignore that last comment.

Leon looked at his own hand while Christopher looked at his. It was a pretty low scoring hand but that was alright, that just meant that there was some time to change things. To make his hand stronger. He took a card off the top of the deck and swore before putting all his cards down,

"Well damn. Looks like you've been out of this long enough to get beginners luck again." he joked before putting his hand back into the deck and shuffling, "I'm bust. Another hand?"

Leon chuckled a little bit, happy as he thought about Maria. Thinking about her always brought a smile to his face and it usually always stayed there for a long time too,

"Well I hope that people will be able to accept the fact that I am dating a vampire. Their opinions don't matter to me but apparently they do to Maria." he shrugged slightly, "We'll just have to prove them wrong and have many happy years together."

Christopher chuckled happily and placed his hand down on the table, he had nineteen, it was a good hand, but he had won without having to put it into play at all, at it being called beginners luck, Christopher thought that Leon was probably right on that point.

"I suppose you might be right, but, we shall see next round, it doesn't tend to carry onto the several laborious rounds after the first one." he grinned softly.

There was a problem with dating a vampire, lots of people didn't think that it was a good idea, and especially since she had been his maid before hand, although Christopher did not much care. As long as they were happy, thats all that matters.

"Well they're all old fuddy duddies, leave them to themselves, I suppose they are just jealous, the men and the women, I am glad I wont be having any of those problems while I'm elected." he chuckled.

Leon was shuffling the deck of cards a little bit faster now that he'd added Christopher's cards back to the deck. He wanted to make sure that there was almost zero chance of it actually being similar to the hands just played. He dealt the two hands again,

"Well we'll see now if the luck is on your side tonight Christopher." he declared with a grin, "Personally I think that my luck will pick up and I'll win but we'll see."

It was rather refreshing to be talking to someone who didn't care about either the fact that she had been his maid or the fact that she was a vampire. He thought he might be the only guy in the world who didn't have a problem with either of them if all the complaints were any indication,

"Well we'll see if I can't get them to focus on something else for awhile." he replied with a chuckle, "The press is rather easy to distract after all. Throw them a bone somewhere else and they're all over it."

Christopher smiled gently and accepted the cards when he was given them, he liked to be competative sometimes but it could often get more and more fierce as the games went on, so that was why he had thought it best to stop.

"Ah, you know the British we do not allow ourselves to boast too much about our own skills." he smiled, that same twinkle of happiness in his eyes, he felt young again being like this with Leon.

Nodding his head, he thought that it was very true about the press, after his wife had died, there had been some rumors that he was in fact gay because he had not remarried...

Needless to say those members of press were soon put right.

"Oh yes the press can be rather odd, they seem to be able to pick up everything and they all seem to be the wrong things they pick up on."
