Selena (Briony and Horst)

His wife Selena had disappeared one night, leaving a note saying she wanted a divorce. She had written in the note how she was getting jealous of his friendship with Sofia, and was feeling like they had been growing apart. Horst was shocked, because he thought they were doing great. Also, she had left Roran, which was a little odd. The Selena he knew would have taken their son with her.

So, he was going to Headmistress Romain's office to ask her to look into this. Walking along the fifth floor, he knocked on the door of her office. Images of his wife filling his brain, he missed her so much. There were dark circles under his eyes from where he'd been crying every night. "May I come in Headmistress?" he asked.

Briony was currently nursing Raven and looking out of the balcony in her office with her baby, she was getting to be pretty heavy now and she had the most beautiful eyes, just like her father, but in most other ways she had begun to look exactly like herself.

As soon as she heard someone knocking at the door she almost growled, but she did not want to disturb Raven as she looked like she was getting off to sleep, which would mean whoever she had to talk to now would get to speak to her in peace.

Setting Raven down in her crib she opened the door to see Horst standing there;

"Oh, Horst..." Briony blinked a few moments before opening the door fully "You look like Hell. I take it this is about Selena? Come in come in."

It was good to see Briony, if anybody could help she could. Raven was in the crib, such a beautiful baby, just like her mother. When he looked over at the baby a small smile spread across his face, but it quickly disappeared at the mention of his wife. "I'm not surprised, I've hardly gotten any sleep recently. Yes it is, I'll make sure to speak quietly so Raven can take a nap." He stepped into her office and took a seat, then ran his hands through his hair.

"To be honest, I think there may be something odd about Selena leaving me. We weren't having any problems between us as far as I could tell, then I got home and there's a note saying she wants a divorce and left. Plus, she left Roran, our son at home, why didn't she take him?" he handed Briony the note that she'd left him.

"That's the note I found. I was wondering if you could help me. Just make sure that nothing out of the ordinary happened. Maybe I'm just seeing things, clinging to the hope that she still loves me. Selena always cared so much about Roran and me. I don't now how I'll get by without her..." Horst trailed off, tears starting to fall down his face. "Sorry, sorry."

Briony hummed a little, she knew that there was something wrong with the relationship between horst and his wife but she did not know exactly what was wrong, now she would get to find out but she wanted to know if she would be able to help them at all, she knew what it was like to have your partner taken away from you.

"I see," she said as Horst explained the situation to her, taking the note she read it carefully and placed it down on the desk, her hands steepled as she leant on the desk "It does seem rather odd, you both appeared to be getting on very well together."

Of course it was always a probablilty that this had been done by someone jealous of the two of them being together, but who would that be? Who would know enough about Horst to be able to exploit him in this manner?

"Do you believe that anybody would have wanted you and Selena to break apart? I know the strength and love of marriage, and now of a love to a child, I would never leave Raven so I agree there is something strange there...it points to the idea someone took her...or used the imperius curse to let her write this note and then kidnap her."

She was the first person he had given the note, he felt nervous about her reading it. What if she said that he was making it all up? His hope of reuniting with his wife would be gone, and he didn't know if he could handle that. Horst was a softie, and he knew it.

He let out a sigh of relief; he hadn't realized he'd even been holding his breath. "That's what I thought as well. I'm glad it's not just me that thinks this is odd." he said.

Somebody wanting them to break up, who would do that? Mulling over the question, he thought about the people he knew. The only person he spent a lot of time with was Sofia aside from his family. Did she like him as more than a friend? They did confide in each other, but she was like a sister to him.

"This seems like a crazy idea, but the only person I spend time with aside from my family is Sofia. I wouldn't have thought her possible of doing anything like this though." Horst replied in a strained voice. It hurt him to think badly of Sofia, she was a good person, right. "You do Briony, that's why I felt like I could talk to you about this. Interesting, that could be, I am not the type of person to think of that possibility. It would explain why the handwriting is the same. Could you find her, do you think? If she is actually a prisoner somewhere."

Briony knew as soon as Horst said that Sofia would have been one of the people to capture his wife that it was her who had done it, she was absent from the castle and had not showed up to teach her lessons recently, as a result, she was probably where ever Selena was making sure that she stayed there.

"I think that it is more than likely that Sofia is the one who has taken your wife then Horst." Briony said simply "I know she is your friend, but the evidence is insurmountable, and when I find her she will be tried in the Wizenmagot for kidnap."

The harshness in her words was evident, to her Sofia had made a grave mistake in taking someones loved one away, she had messed in the happy family life of a father and son, by hurting their mother and wife. It was unforgivable in her eyes.

She certainly would not be in her employ when she returned;

"Of course I can find her, I have the backing of the Ministry and all of it resources, no mere Seer can hold them back." she smiled gently "Sofia has commited one of the worst things I can think of, and she will be found I assure you."
