Lesson Four - Third Years

Briony sat at the desk in her classroom, after she had been hit by the spell in the streets she had been more than a little altered, and of course she didn't mind that, she thought that it was a good change, after all, it meant that she was getting more and more powerful.

Running her hand through her hair she looked at the empty desks and she waited for the students to arrive in their lessons, hopefully the least they would do would to be to arrive on time,

While she waited Briony took a long drag on her cigarette, she had made a charm to keep the smoke behind her desk, so the children couldn't moan about her doing it, closing her eyes, she waited for the students to arrive, the lesson point was on the board as usual;

'Incendio'

A smiling Frank walked into the Dueling Classroom. His first class at Hogwarts! How exciting!

The first thing Frank spotted was Professor/Headmistress Romain, sitting behind her desk, taking a nice long pull from a cigarette.

"Hello professor. How are you doing?"

Frank walked up to a desk in the second row. Sitting down, Frank pulled out his stuff. Looking at the board, he had to suppres a sigh.

Incendio... He had seen that at his old school already. Hiding his disappointment quite well, Frank pulled out his old notes from his bag. Placing them on his desk in front of him, he pulled out a book on weapons maintenance before beginning to read. It's not as if he had anything better to do until the class actually began.

Briony stood up and she flicked her cigarette ash to one side before directing her attention at the one student that was still left in her class, it was kind of pitiful that there was only one student but she hoped that that might change in the course of next year.

"Today we are learning about the spell 'Incendio' do you know what this spell does or what it could be used for in a battle situation? Housepoints may be given for correct answers." she said simply, looking directly at Frank as she waited for the student to answer her question, if of course he could.

As professor Romain stood up, Frank realized that this was not a professor to mess with. Deciding to give this class his best at all times, he sat up a bit straighter.

When the professor asked what Frank knew about the Incendio spell, he considered his answer for a second before answering.

"The Incendio spell, fireball spell. Used to fire a ball of fire at your target. Offensive uses include attacking your opponent, blinding your opponent, distracting your opponent and obstructing his path by hitting the ground near his position. Wand movement is a sort of inverted V."

Clearing his throat, Frank took his quill to note down any additional information the professor might give.

Briony raised her eyebrow when the boy in front of her gave her so much information about the spell, she smirked a little wickedly and since he seemed to know so much about the spell, he would surely know how to cast it at her with ease.

Gesturing for him to come up to the front,, Briony took out her wand and she smirked even wider;

"10 points to Hufflepuff, now, come to the front and cast the spell at me, you know the incantation and the movements, so there should be no reason why you can't...am I correct?" she asked "Don't hold back. Begin." Briony instructed.

Frank rose as the professor motioned for him to come closer. Tentatively, Frank slowly moved to the front.

Seeing the professor smirk, and pull out her wand, Frank automaticall reached into his own robes. He wouldn't stand a chance against the Headmistress of course. But this was just a reflex.

Frank stiffened when the professor told him to cast an Incendio at her. Stepping back, Frank tensed, preparing to fight or flee if the professor retaliated in any way after he shot his Incendio at her.

Taking a deep breath, Frank acted.

"INCENDIO!"

Briony smirked when Frank cast the spell at her, and she was ready with the counter although it might actually hurt the boy, she didn't care however and she was sure that if he had any sense he would move out of the way when she cast the spell.

'Aguamente!'

She cast, turning the fire and water into a large cloud of steam, with a grin on her lips, Briony wafted away the cloud before walking towards the student, a smirk on her lips, he wasn't that bad for a new boy in her class, maybe he would even have some promise.

"Well done kid. 10 points to Hufflepuff. Lesson dismissed."
