"His name is Tarragon." she said, her voice rising even as the blush spread on her pale skin. "And he is not my boyfriend," she felt compelled to add. She knew he was saying that to wind her up and it was working.

"And he's doing quite well thank you, you don't hit as hard as you think," she tried to scoff but ruined the affect somehow as images of the Muhe boy in pain assaulted her vision.

"Oh!", Lukas was genuinely surprised, "but he seemed to act that way so I assumed. Well, please accept my sincere apologies." He wasn't sincere but he was sorry none the less.

He stood up and said," It's time to leave Alys. If I stayed here another minute I might just faint. Come on." He offered his left hand to help Alys up and with his right hand opened the door.

Unsure if he was making fun of her again in regards to Tarragon or apologizing sincerely, Alys extended a hand towards his and let herself be pulled to her feet as he reached for the door. The witch briefly wondered why the older boy would faint but decided not to ask. If past experiences had shown her anything, it was that he would find another way to indirectly imply her stupidity.

Instead, she silently followed him out the room, her eyes lingering on the reflection of their joined hands as they exited the chamber together.

They were in the dim lights of the corridors now and unlike the room of mirrors it was much colder. Lukas clasped Alys's hand telling her to not wander without her wand ever and if she needed any help he would be there only on one condition, she was never to tell that he was has helped or everybody will know he is a nice person and he couldn't afford that kind of a reputation.

He then wished her a sound sleep and let go of her hand. He had to go to the grounds now, Rudolf must have come back by now. Of course he knew that Alys was never going to come to ask from help from him but he still felt that he should say it as that's what nice people say to each other.

He swiftly climbed the stairs, without looking back, and disappeared into the darkness.
