Potions Lesson One - Fifth Years

Evangeline, for some unknown reason even to herself had been asked to be a subsitite teacher for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as they were very understaffed, and she sighed as she merely sat down at the desk that was provided and looked out over the cauldrons.

The fact she knew almost next to nothing about potions was something that the Headmistress didn't seem to mind about. Looking over the book that had been left, Evangeline's expression stayed it's same stoic manner and she merely waited for the students to come into the classroom.

Most of the time children didn't really like her, she had always put it down to the fact she was a reaper...but now she supposed she would find out. It turned out that today the students would be learning about;

'Volubilis Potion'

Charlotte walked into the potions lesson and did a swift double take when she saw that there was a new professor in the room, and that professor Valentine had seemed to have given up her position, or maybe she was just on holiday for a little while?

Thinking to herself, Charlotte thought that this new professor was a little different, with all those piercings and that mowhawk, but to her it was a good different, it was kind of like the way that she looked, and she was happy to have a professor like that in school.

Waiting to see what was going to happen this lesson, Charlotte smiled softly and took out her parchment and quills.

[Airen Auditoren]

Airen walked into the classroom. He wondered what had happened last year due to the fact that there were barely any Potions classes. He noticed that they had a new potions professor. This one seemed like she belonged in a muggle rock concert that a potions lab. However, he knew that the Headmistress must've had a good reason to accept her for the position.

"Good morning, Professor," he greeted her as he would any of the other professors. There was no need to make her feel like more of a new person than she no doubt already felt. He sat next to Charlotte and cast her a kind smile. He took out his ink, quill, and parchment and got ready for the lesson.

[Humphrey Williams]

Humphrey walked into Potions, and was surprised by the substitute teacher. She looked like a punk rocker, or maybe a goth, it was...different to say the least. He didn't really mind, it was just a bit of a shock. The important thing was that she teach them what needed to be done.

"Morning professor, nice to meet you." Humphrey said, sitting down in the seat at the front of the class. Next, he got out his parchment, quill, ink, and prepared himself for class. A small smile crossed his face, this would be an interesting lesson. He wasn't sure why he thought that, it had just crossed his mind.

Evangeline stood up from her desk and blinked at the student in her class for a few moments before she decided that the lesson had better begin, turning to the board she wrote up the recipe for the potion that they were going to be making today;

"This is the recipe for the Volubis potion, I suppose that you want to actually brew something this lesson, so research the background in your own time."

'Recipe;
1. Heat cauldron to 180
2. Add in two pints of bog water and one pint of ox's milk and two cups of lemon juice
3. Add a sprinkle of powdered blue dress butterfly wings
4. Stir clockwise for three minutes
5. Cool cauldron to 50
6. Add four newt eyes and two salamander tails
7. Add two cups of dragon bile
8. Let it settle for ten minutes
9. Light the top layer on fire and let it burn for five minutes
10. Put out the fire by stirring the mixture four times in an anticlockwise direction
11. Add one deku nut
12. Stand well back of the purple smoke, it is deadly
13. Tap the cauldron three times with your wand while stirring clockwise'

"I am Evangeline Webb, I have been instructed to oversee your school work in the subject potions, this is your task for today, ingredients are on my desk, you are to begin."
