Running up the stairs to the girls dorm, annika threw open her door and hurried to her pseudo-dragon Emmi. It was a clear day and she really wanted to get out side with her little friend and play some games. They had been so busy since school classes started again that she hadn't taken her out for a fly in a long time. Emmi she knew would be happy to get out of the castle for a while too.

Grabbing her glove, some meat from her treat box and Emmi she started out. "I wish the girls were here to play with. I really could use someone to talk to that could understand and answer back. Emmi, how would you like to try the forest today and see what you can hunt?"

Without waiting for the answer she knew couldn't come, she headed out to the edge of the forest.

Willow had been walking past the Geschick dormatories when she realised that someone was leaving them, with what looked like a very unusual pet in tow, not that she minded, she wasn't one for taking someone's friend away when they needed comforting and the company she supposed, there weren't very many Geschick students.

Seeing that she was heading to the forest, Willow smiled gently and decided that she would follow, her and see if she was alright, hopefully she wouldn't mind speaking to a professor, some students might think that there would be in trouble.

"Hey there." she smiled gently "Are you alright, you shouldn't really go in there alone you know, in case something happens." Willow stated in a warm and kindly voice.

"Sorry, Miss? Oh, I'm okay and Emmi here, she's a great protector and my best friend. We haven't been able to get out since school started and she really needs to fly and hunt for fresh food. This dry meat doesn't really sit to well if that's all she gets. "

Annika was a little embarrassed by the encounter with a teacher. But then this one seemed to be really kind and friendly. Maybe she could use the company after all.

"Have you ever seen a pseudo-dragon before? They are kinda rare and I was lucky to find her before she hatched. Her mama had been killed by a frightened muggle and so I raised her. My papa said she'd bring me good luck. Her name is Emmi after my Oma. She's the one who taught me how to take care of her."

Smiling she held out the arm Emmi was sitting on for the professor to see.

Willow smiled gently when she heard that the student was alright, after all she didn't want to see any of the students in Durmstrang in pain or upset, it just wouldn't do. With a slight nod of the head, Willow understood now why the forest was her destination.

"Oh I'm sorry I'm Willow, Willow Hartman, I'm the subsitute teacher for Durmstrang at the moment." she smiled softly "You're Annika aren't you? I don't think you're in any of my classes but Darcie has told me about you."

Shaking her head Willow beamed as she saw the psuedo-dragon that Annika was talking about, it was very beautiful and she wondered how she managed to keep her in the dorm room, surely the dragon would want to fly about outside!

"Well Emmi is a very beautiful pseudo-dragon, I've never seen on before but I am glad that I have now, how long have you had her for? I know that pets become like best friends when you've had them for a long time."

" Found Emmi while she was still and egg. We live in a small village called Butzweiler, near Trier, and some muggles were hunting and shot her mama. She's full grown now and about 3 years old. We play with a piece of fur in the dorm room, and I feed her dried meat and fruit, but sometimes we have to come out so she can practice hunting. You can pet her, she's really rather friendly. In fact my little sisters play with all the time when I'm at home. "

Holding her arm out toward the professor so she could see her Annika smiled and petted Emmi's tail. "It's okay Emmi, she's a friend. No smoke now, promise."

Willow, although never having a pet herself had always wondered about them and this pet seemed to be so very unusual, but she was very glad that Annika had managed to save the egg as it might have died if it had been left on it's own without it's mother to take care of it.

Biting her lip gently, Willow reached out a tentative hand and she touched Emmi gently on the top of the head, stroking down her head to the base of the neck and then repeating the motion.

"I have always wanted a pet you know, but I have never had the time for one, it's rather sad now that I think about it." she pouted sadly "She really is a beautiful pet, you're very lucky to have found her when you did, if not, she might have been really hurt without her mother there to raise her."

"Would you like to see her fly? She's a great hunter and loves fish. I think she smells water because she's getting fidgety." Without waiting for an answer Annika raised her arm ,"Fish, Emmi, fish" she whispered and Emmi took off to find the water.

"She's been practicing with me for a while and I can tell her fish, or hare and she usually brings the right thing back. But sometimes, I think she gets stubborn and just grabs whatever is closest. She's just like my little sisters." Laughing Annika stepped over to a large tree stump ans sat down to wait.

She pulled out her water skin and offered some to the professor before taking a sip herself.

Willow smiled gently and she wondered if the dragon was going to be as beautiful as she thought when she flew to go and hunt, after all, being the flying professor she really did love to see things in mid flight, it was a beautiful sight and she hoped that she was going to be able to see more dragons when they were flying.

"I would love to see her fly, I bet that she is beautiful when she does, then again I might be slightly bias because I enjoy flying above anything else, apart from healing perhaps."

Nodding her head, Willow thought that Annika was very clever to teach the dragon that and she smiled gently, it would have taken a lot of effort to get the dragon to learn tricks like this, and it showed Annika's dedication.

"It must have taken a long time to train your dragon to do these tricks, it shows that you are a very dedicated young lady, do you have anything else you want to teach her?"

"I think for right now this will be it. It took almost a year to get her this trained. With classes we don't get to practice like before. But I have had fun. When she gets back, she'll be tired and hungry so I guess I'd better gather up my things. Will you be going back or staying out for a while, Miss?"

Annika quickly gathered what was left of her lunch, her water skin, and glove as she talked. It was really kind of nice to have someone to talk to about Emmi, most people were afraid of her and thought that Annika was weird because of her.

She heard Emmi coming back and let out s short whistle to get her attention.

"Sometimes she gets side tracked and I have to remind her to come home. She's full grown but still very young for a dragon and her attention span is really short. Oh, look, she found a big fish this time."

Laughing out loud Annika held out her arm and Emmi gracefully landed and placed the fish in her other hand waiting for her praise.

Willow smiled gently and she looked up at the nights sky, the stars were so beautiful tonight they almost sung to her, and she knew that it would be impossible to get to sleep without having flown amongst them,, she would simply be too restless to fall asleep properly.

"I believe I will be staying out for a little while longer, after all, it looks like a beautiful night to fly I do so love to do so." she smiled, her hair ruffled by the small soft breeze moving through the trees.

Nodding her head, Willow understood, after all she was still pretty young for a dragon, most were hundreds of hyears old and Emmi was only 14 she supposed, or around that age anyway. Maybe her attention would grow with age.

"Well done!" Willow praised Emmi as she admired her fish "I wonder why Durmstrang doesn't offer a magical creatures based class...Emmi would have been a great pet to bring to show the students."

"I would have loved that. Maybe then I would know more about her and what she could do. Everything I've done has been by trial and error. But she sure is smart and she seems to like me well enough. Best be getting her back before someone notices I've left the grounds. Sometimes they get upset, especially with all the fighting going on. thank-you for talking to me. It was really fun, and I'm glad you like Emmi." Gathering up her things and attaching Emmi's tether Annika waved good by to the professor and humming a song started back to the school.

Willow smiled lightly when Annika decided to go back up to the school, it was a good idea actually because otherwise she would probably get in trouble, and so would Willow for not telling her to go back to her dorm straight away, but oh well, they hadnt been seen so there was no problems for her.

"It was nice meeting you too Annika, and if you ever want to talk again you know where my office is." she smiled softly, running her hand through her hair and waving to the student as she headed off into the night back up to the school.

It was now that Willow grinned up at the sky, her wings were aching to be unfurled and to fly her through the night, and that was exactly what Willow planned to do into the early morning.
