Lesson Three - Second Years Empty Lesson Three - Second Years

Post by Viktor Nickel Sun Sep 09, 2012 12:32 am

Viktor smiled slightly as he sat down behind his desk, setting his steaming cup of coffee down on the coaster. He had enjoyed the winter break a lot more than he usually would have done and it was all down to one special person. He sipped at his coffee as he waiting for his class to arrive.

Lesson Three - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Three - Second Years

Othala happily hopped into the classroom, she had enjoyed the ball so much and she had thought that it would be lovely if the Doctor managed to make it so they had one here next year, it showed her that English people weren't as scary as her family had made them out to be! They were just like her.

Giving the professor a large smile, Othala sat down in her seat and got out her parchment , quill and ink, ready to see what today's lesson was going to be about, knowing that she would try her best to answer any questions that came her way, to show she was getting smarter.

Mirri was rushing to class when her satchel came undone just as she entered, spiilling her things onto the floor. Looking up she appologized to the professor and stooped to clean it up. While she was putting stuff back into the satchel, she found the invitation to the ball she had misplaced. She had so wanted to go, but couldn't find her pass. Oh, well, maybe next time. Finally standing and going into the class she noticed she wasn't the first or only student in this class. That lifted her spirits a lot especially when she noticed it was the girl from her dorms.
Smiling she said "Hi," as she took her seat and prepared for another lesson in history of magic.

Viktor looked out over his class and was a little disappointed at the size of it. He had hoped against hope that there would be more pupils in his lessons after the winter break but they were the same size as ever. To this end he decided to make quality over quantity the name of the game,

"Alright class we're doing a quiz." he told them simply, "Twenty house points to the person who can tell me in what year the first wizarding war, involving Grindelwald and Dumbledore, ended."

Othala tilted her head to one side and waved at Mirri, she was glad to see her in one of her classes she was one of her friends that she had made, and she was sure that she was real this time, that she wasn't just one of the imaginary ones that she tended to make up from time to time...just like Eliza.

Snapping her attention back to the class, Othala remembered reading about this in her textbook and she gently raised her hand into the air, ready to answer the question when she was called upon to do so.

"It ended in 1945 the same year that the Muggle Second World War also began!" she volunteered with a confident smile on her lips.

Mirri quickly glanced up to see if Othala's answer was correct, hoping it was. She always got numbers backwards and was going to say 1954. This was the reason she was so glad that they didn't stress math in any of her classes.
Luckily her grasp of history was a little bit better, if she didn't have to remember dates. Names, and places were easy for her, just leave out the day, month or year.
Hoping Professor Nickel accepted the answer and would move on to the interesting stuff Mirri began taking notes for review tonight.
