Lesson Two
Plants.
Plants were good.
Plants contained poison.
Poison was good.
Raven sat on the desk of the Herbology Greenhouses and tilted her head to one side, her hair obscuring one half of her face and blood running down from her forehead as she had made a sliver thin cut around her face, as if to cut it off.

Re: Lesson Two
Avangeline walked slowly into the Herbology garden, ready for the lesson, only to see Sweeney with blood running down her face from an apparently self-inflicted wound.
Ava froze for a moment, and then took a few more steps inside, this instructor intrigued her. "Why are you doing that? Does the blood cause the plants to wake up, or are you just bored?" Ava didn't have any accusation in her voice. She could tell the cut wasn't too deep, it was just bleeding heavily because most facial wounds bled more than a cut would in a different spot.
Ava was just curious if the scare tactic was useful, or just for fun. Hoping to get an honest answer, it would help her learn how to know when the Sweeney was serious, and when she was playing with them.

Re: Lesson Two
Raven turned and grinned manically at the girl who entered. She liked this girl. She was glad that she was going to be in this class. Jumping down from the desk Raven walked over to the door of the greenhouse and locked it, it was too late for any other student to join the lesson, they should have gotten here earlier.
Shrugging her shoulders Raven turned to the girl, running a finger around the cut on her face she grinned again.
"I got bored. What else do you do when you're bored?"
Getting back up on the desk Raven kicked the papers off and lay down on her back, waving a hand languidly in the air she hummed in a sing song voice:
"Get to a desk, get your paper out, be ready to take notes. Devils Snare. A funny plant. A personal favourite. Bar hemlock."

Re: Lesson Two
Ava knew that was probably going to be her answer, so she calmly walked over to a desk, plopped down, and got ready to take notes.
Hmm, Devil's Snare, an interesting plant, this could be an exciting class with Sweeney teaching it.

Re: Lesson Two
Raven was glad that the girl was doing what she was being told to do, after all, Raven was in a bad mood and it wouldn't be wise to mess with her when she was in this sort of mood, it gave her the impression that you wanted a death wish.
"It's a plant mostly found in dark places, dark and damp, forests and the like however it has been known to be grown in doors with the right conditions, it feeds much like any plant on an intake of water and starch."
Pausing Raven looked at the girl as she paced around the desk.
"This plant is also very dangers, five points if you can tell me why."

Re: Lesson Two
It only took a few moments for Ava to remember. "This is a carnivorous plant, any animal that wanders into or near the plant will be stuck to it's leaves until the plant pulls you deeper in order to digest you. A full grown devil's snare is big enough to digest humans, as well as other large mammals."
Living next to deep old woods had given Ava the knowledge she needed. Her father had told her what Devil's snare was so she didn't stumble into any of it.

Re: Lesson Two
Raven watched the girl and pouted a little, she had thought that the answer was going so well until she had to go and say the wrong thing, true the plant did kill people but it didn't need to kill them to live as was a part of being a carnivore.
"Mostly correct, the Devils Snare does kill people and what it does kill is broken down into starches and what else the plant can digest, the rest is left, however it does not need to consume mammals to live it does so perfectly well on nutrients in the soil."
Shaking her head a little bit more Raven got more frustrated that she had seemed to miss the point of what she had asked.
"The most dangerous thing about this plant is that it kills it's victims faster if they struggle, which is dangerous in itself as you'll be anything but calm at having tendrils squeezing you to death."
Raven shrugged her shoulders and gestures to the door: "Go on. Lessons over."
