Lesson Three - Fifth Years Empty Lesson Three - Fifth Years

Post by Briony Romain Sun Sep 09, 2012 1:11 am

Briony sat down at her desk, flipping a knife between his fingertips by the point, using finely control magic to stop it on her fingertips without ever breaking the skin. She sighed a little bit as she scowled at thin air. The ball had been a success but that damned Leon Becker had been there. It had ruined her whole night.

Lesson Three - Fifth Years Empty Re: Lesson Three - Fifth Years

Post by Haley Vilde Smith Sun Sep 09, 2012 7:48 pm

Haley walked into the Duelling classroom, finally starting to feel like her old self again, but blinked when she saw Briony practically doing her nails with a knife. She didn't ask about it, of course, she wasn't suicidal. So she walked to the front and sat down, taking out her things. Briony seemed to be in a pretty dense mood, but the class was most likely going to be a success either way.

Lesson Three - Fifth Years Empty Re: Lesson Three - Fifth Years

Humphrey walked into Duelling with a spring in his step, eager to practice the next spell the Headmistress had in mind for them. He noticed that she was playing with a knife, she seemed to be in a pretty grim mood. Her mood had been getting progressively worse this year, at least he thought so. Taking a seat next to Haley, he waved at her. Then he got out his things and waited for class to begin.

Lesson Three - Fifth Years Empty Re: Lesson Three - Fifth Years

Airen entered the classroom. He had been a bit bummed out by the break up between him and Charlotte, but he remembered their first year. Specifically, a certain promise he had made. Now not being one to break promises, he decided that, although he still had feelings for Charlotte that went beyond that of best friends, he would be there for her still.

He sat down in his usual seat next at the front of the classroom. He numbly took out his notes, not entirely there in spirit, but just enough to convince others of his participation. He'd fallen silent, well more silent than usual. He missed being able to identify himself as Charlotte's boyfriend, but maybe they just needed a little time to themselves. He was a patient young man, but how patient would he need to be?

Lesson Three - Fifth Years Empty Re: Lesson Three - Fifth Years

Briony looked up and she scowled darkly at the students who had come into her class, she almost wanted to put her fist through the nearest wall and she probably looked like she wanted nothing but to do that as well.

Standing up she gripped her wand in her hand and she thought about how pointless these lessons were, how pointless this school was when none of the students seemed to care! She was so close now...so close to completing her project!

"Today we are learning the spell diffindo, what does this spell do?" she asked in a cold and crip manner.

Humphrey saw her scowl, and to be honest it scared him a little bit. Headmistress Romain was an exceptionally powerful witch, so her looking like she wanted to punch something was not a good sign.

This spell was one he remembered from reading his course book. "Diffindo is used to divide or rip apart an object." he answered her. It could be used on objects, or even against other wizards.

Briony nodded her head, not smiling but her expression was lighter than before, she knew that the boy needed some positive sign that he was progressing well in this class after all. Stepping forwards, Briony leant on her desk and she spoke;

"You are correct Humphrey, today we will be dividing several different objects."

She nodded towards the strips of matieral on her desk; "Here we have paper, material, wood, thin metal and a piece of lead, you will perform the spell until you can cut through all of these materials efficiently. The wand movements are a simple stab forwards. You may begin."
