DADA lesson 3, year 5
Lucia walked into her classroom, looking around, seeing that none of the students had come just yet. She looked at the clock and smiled; it was still ten minutes to go. She walked over to her desk and looked into her drawer. She took out some papers and placed them on each desk around the room.
She waved her wand at the board and the word 'Imperius' was standing there. She sat down behind her desk and waited for the students to arrive. This was going to be an interesting lesson.

Haley walked into the DADA classroom, anxious to know what they would be doing this lesson. She had missed the last one, but according to the students, it hadn't been much to miss out on. She was glad that Henley was back to teaching, though.
She walked up to the front, feeling like her old self was returning, and then she sat down, fished out her books, and looked at the empty piece of parchment in front of her. She then looked at the board and she blinked. Imperius? She hadn't known they'd be learning those spells yet.

Humphrey walked into DADA, eager as always for class to start. Last lesson they'd talked a bit about the Imperius curse, and he noticed that it was written on the board. They hadn't really gotten very far, so he wasn't surprised they'd still be working on it.
He took a seat next to Haley, waving at her. She seemed to be a bit more cheerful today then she had been recently. "Hello, Professor." he said, smiling up at her. It was nice having Professor Henley back, she was an excellent teacher.

Charlotte hurried to her class, she thought that she was going to be late! Ever since her break up with Airen, she had felt mixed emotions, and on top of everything else she had wanted little more than to snuggle up in the Slytherin Common room and sleep.
It seemed to be the only time that she wasn't worrying about her best friend, and now ex boyfriend. Charlotte hoped above all else he wouldn't chide and shun her now, after all, she cherished him dearly as a friend.
Distractedly she took out her equipment and looked idlly at the lesson topic on the board, not really in the right frame of mind for lessons at this moment in time.

Airen entered the classroom. He had been a bit bummed out by the break up between him and Charlotte, but he remembered their first year. Specifically, a certain promise he had made. Now not being one to break promises, he decided that, although he still had feelings for Charlotte that went beyond that of best friends, he would be there for her still.
He sat down in his usual seat next to Charlotte and sent her a warm smile, signifying to her that he was still her friend. He took out his notes and got ready for their class. This semester was going to be different to say the least.

Re: DADA lesson 3, year 5
Lucia was happy when a total of four students entered her classroom. Lately she had been wondering where all the different students had gone. In every other class, she only had one student or none at all. She smiled at them, they being the only ones she remembered teaching.
"Good morning," she said happily, "As you remember, last time we had a bit about this spell. But today, there will be more information." Lucia rose from her chair and wandered a bit back and forth, before leaning against the desk itself.
"As you all know, this is one of the Unforgivable spells. It is the most controlling of the ones, and it is not to be messed with. But despite this, it is important that you know what happens when you are under the influence of this spell. There are two reasons for this. Can any of you guess which two?" Lucia asked.

Humphrey thought that he knew one of the answers. Raising his hand, he answered the question. "One of the reasons is because with a strong will you can resist the curse. Though I've heard that is supposed to be extremely difficult to do." Hopefully he would never have to encounter this spell, but if he did he would rather be prepared than not.

Charlotte smiled when she saw Airen come into the classroom and sit next to her, it made her think that she wasn't all on her own after all, and that he did still want to be friends like she had suggested when they had talked about their relationship.
Hearing the Professor ask a question she took a moment to think about it, before raising her hand and answering in a less than confident manner;
"It could be important for you to know what happens under the influence of this spell as well, in case you are brought to trial for the things that you did under the influence of the spell? After all you could be made to do anything by someone who uses an unforgivable."

Re: DADA lesson 3, year 5
Lucia beamed at Humphrey and Charlotte. They had both gotten so far. "That is the most used reason, yes, Mr. Williams. Five points to Gryffindor. As for your reason, Charlotte, I'm surprised you managed to get so close to it. It is to know what the spell feels like. It's not all about control in this spell either. It is also about innocence. The reason isn't an official one, like yours would've been interpreted. It is a reason I want you to understand. It is most important that you do."
Lucia rose from the desk and walked a bit forward, looking importantly at her students. "You see, it is important that you know how the spell is used, because if you are ordered to hurt someone, and unable to control the spell, it is important that you know it is not your fault," Lucia said seriously, looking at the four of them in turn.
"Nonetheless, your reason was so close, and five points are awarded to Slytherin. And next lesson, I want you all to have readied a fifty word essay on what you think the spell will make you feel when you're under it, so maybe you'll be mentally prepared for what happens next class when we shall perform it," Lucia said, "Class dismissed."
