DADA lesson 1, year 6
Lucia walked to her first lesson in DADA this year. She was smiling, very happy. She had missed teaching over the holidays, like usual. But this year, she would make sure she would be stricter. She had been a decent strict last year, but this time, she'd be more forceful, she'd pressure the students more. They always acted more then.
She walked over to her desk and waved her wand at the blackboard. The words 'Cruciatus Curse' appeared on it. Then she waved her wand at the books stacked and she sent them out over the classroom, one on each desk. She then turned back to the desk and sat down, waiting for the students to show.

Haley walked from the Great Hall to the DADA classroom, ready to start the new year with more defensive learning. She knew how important this subject was to her future. All her subjects were important, even though if she had to take one away, it would be Divination, given that with or without that art, she could still make a brilliant auror.
She walked into the classroom and sat down in the front. Professor Henley seemed to be in a good mood. "Good morning professor," she said and then looked at the board. Haley felt something clench in her chest, and then she felt a bit triumphant; she'd know how to protect herself against this spell. That was exactly the kind of start she wanted.

Humphrey walked into the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, eager to begin the year. This would be one of his more important classes in working towards becoming an auror. He'd always loved it, and had done his best to work hard at what Professor Henley taught them. Some of what he'd learned in here he had even been able to put to use already from time to time. It was a more practical class than some.
Taking a seat at the front of the class, he waved to Haley. She seemed to be doing much better, and he was glad about that. Professor Henley seemed to be in a good mood as well. "Morning professor, how was your summer?" he asked, smiling at the nice professor.

Tabi walked into DADA class and read the board as to what they would be learning and it was a spell that she really didn't want to learn about she knew too much about it already so she found a spot in back of the class and waited for it to start.

Lucia smiled to her students, and saw the expressions when they saw what spell they were learning today. She knew it was a hard subject, but it was necessary.
"All right. I'm pretty sure most of you know what spell this is, but I'll ask anyways. What is the effect of the Cruciatus curse?" she asked calmly.

Haley rose her hand into the air. "It sets off a excruciating pain through your entire body. In the end, the pain can be so bad as to drive you mad, like how it happened to the famous Frank and Alice Longbottom," she said calmly.

Lucia nodded at what Haley was saying. "That is correct miss Smith, ten points to Hufflepuff for pointing out the Longbottoms as well," Lucia said with a smile.
She then eyed the three of them. "Of course, we will not practice this curse. I want you to write down some keywords to this spell and when you're done, I want you to say them out loud. In other words, write down what you think of when you hear this spell," she said and sat down behind her desk.

Humphrey thought about it for a minute, write down what I think when I hear this spell. He wrote down the words torture, cruelty, pain, and unforgivable. Those were some of the disturbing words he thought of when he heard this spell.
Doing as the teacher asked, he said them aloud. "Torture, cruelty, pain, unforgivable, that's what I thought of." Now he would wait for the others to share what they thought, and he waited quietly.

(Whoa...I'm not that late am I? o.o)
Charlotte wandered into the lesson and she saw that it was in full swing already, they couldn't have waited for her or anything no? With a small sigh on her lips she really did hope she wouldn't get into trouble it wasn't like she was late or anything to the lesson.
Taking her seat as she normally did, now in a rather bad mood, she took out her things and promptly glared at the parchment she was about to write on, this was exactly what she needed today wasn't it? Placing her chin on her hand she waited for the lesson to continue already feeling superflous.

Tabi could not help but think about the spell so she began to write things down, mean, painful, screams, death, crazy. After Tabi wrote them down re repeated them out loud with her head down.
" Mean, painful, screams, death, crazy." Tabi stated
Tabbi glanced up when she heard someone else come in she looked up and saw Charlotte. She had not seen her since she got back.
