Re: Astronomy Exam (All Students)
Naomi walked into the Astronomy exam and looked at the questions. She knew answers to all of them and she knew she could get a really good grade, if not better then her brother got when he was in her year.
She moved to an empty desk at the front of the Hall and sat down. She looked back at the Questions and started writing.
Name: Naomi Night
Year: Sixth
House: Gryffindor
1. Name one Phase of the moon. Wanning Gibbous is one of the Phases of the moon where the moon is three quarters filled and this is the phase of the moon that is after the full moon.
2. Name one astrology sign. Scorpio.
3. Name one planet. Saturn.
Essay Question (at least 150 words): It was a cold night. The sky was free of any clouds and it was lit up with thousands upon thousands of stars. You could see all the different constellations shining down on you. If you looked in the right direction you could see the occasional star that was lit up brightly then any of the other ones.
Despite it being a cold night, I was laying on the grass behind my house in Scotland on a huge hill. I was all alone but I didn’t mind. I preferred the loneliness that I got when I was laying and looking up at the star lit sky. I preferred it because then I could concentrate on finding all the constellations I knew. From Draco, the Dragon to Carina to Vela to Pyxis. All those and more were scattered all around the sky.
But that night was the night that I saw something incredible that I haven’t seen by my own eyes but read about in Astrology books. For the very first time in my life I stared with huge eyes at the Northern Lights.
It was an incredible sight. The whole sky was lit in green because of the Northern Lights. My heart was hammering against my rib-cage as I watched. I was mesmerized by the Northern Lights. I knew it was incredible sight but this… this was something that couldn’t be explained in words. Now I knew what people meant when they said that you had to see it to believe how mesmerizing it was.
No words could describe the beautiful phenomenon that I watched. No words could even describe how I was feeling as I watched it. Before I came out to watch the stars I wasn’t expecting to see something this amazing, this breath-taking, and this mesmerizing. It was a sight to behold and I knew that I would view this memory every chance I could get. I knew then that if another chance like this would come up I could see it again and again but if you never saw it before then the first time it would always be mesmerizing.

Tabi walked out by the black lake tonight. There was suppose to be a meteor shower that was suppose to be the best of all time. She grabbed her blanket and a pillow and walked out there. There seem to be a chill in the air so she was glad she had worn her grey hoodie with her jeans.
She had found a somewhat flat spot about 100 feet from the lake itself. She laid the blanket down then tossed the pillow down. She had brought with her a pair of muggle headphones so she could listen to some calming music as she watched the show.
It had not quite started when she first laid down so she was admiring the different constellations she was seeing. She immediately found the big dipper and close by there was the small dipper. As she was looking around she noticed a couple of shooting stars so she made her wish. She thought how perfect this would be if Alistair had been with her to watch this. She could not find him to ask so she came out by herself.
As she laid there the shower started, it was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. There had to be hundreds of little meteor that were falling in the sky. So of them looked as big a a tree, but them some smaller than a rock. Well from the distance. She imagined if she would have had looked in a telescope they would have seemed so close she could have touched them.
The show had seemed to go on for hours, and the next thing she knew was she had fallen asleep down by the lake. It was a good thing she had a pass to be out after curfew, but Professor Slytherin would not be happy she was really late.
